I was examined and then with the door open, "John" proceeded to announce my medication list and ask after each one, "What are you on THAT for?" Pretty embarrassing. He casually asked about my work and I wound up telling him about an upcoming job transfer, to which his response was basically that I was making the wrong decision. I asked for an EKG but this office states my insurance won't pay unless I have chest pain...?! I have always had an EKG as part of a physical especially with a strong family cardiac history. The girl taking my BP let the air out of the cuff before the diastolic beat could be determined and made up a number ( I am also a nurse and this is a pet peeve). He insisted on ordering a drug level for a drug I take for mood stabilization (a level is necessary only if taken for seizures) and then the front desk girl insisted he was right...I did not want to talk about this in front of the other patients who were waiting. The office is outdated, ugly wallpaper, no sink in the exam room, stained carpeting that was not vacuumed. Nothing modern, 50's station blaring into the exam room was off-putting. Not a good experience, will not be returning.

I get called into a room at 2pm, and proceed to wait another 30 minutes without the doctor ever coming in. I walked out, and told the receptionist (?) that I simply couldn't wait anymore, and wondered why someone couldn't have the courtesy to call me if they know he's running so late? You know, a little consideration. Of course, she had an attitude in her reply. Her excuse was that they didn't know he was running that late until I came in. Right. The guy before me who had a 1:30 appointment didn't get called in until 1:50 and who knows how long he waited after that. I have little issues with my neurologist here, so that's good at least. I suffer with epilepsy and…read moreneed to take medication on a bi-daily basis and I call to get it refilled from the office. I do not commend at all the reception, or whoever is picking up or listening to voicemails because they cannot follow simple instructions. I tell them EVERY time to send my seizure medication to a specific pharmacy, and they can't follow simple instructions, leading me to missing out on doses and putting me at extreme risk of having another seizure. Like I said, no issue with the doctors, but the medication team needs to get their stuff together because I cannot afford the $450 one month supply they keep sending to CVS instead of the pharmacy I ask for. It's ridiculous.

I have never liked nor did I ever have a male therapist for any length of time. However, I have been seeing a male therapist for well over a year now and he's been great. I highly recommend going to B.E.S.T. even if you're not there for substance abuse. The only negative thing, I can say about B.E.S.T. is that everyone regardless if you're mandated or not like me, still have to give a swabbed toxicology.
