I recommend placing a reservation online to ensure you can get in. Our group of 4 were seated quickly, and upon entering we could see that the place was filled. The waitress for us was incredible. She offered great recommendations and answered the question we had well, including getting to know our flavor preferences to make the best suggestion. The drinks are fantastic. All super classic but unique. My favorite was the espresso martini, which had a great slightly sweet tastes without the strong alcohol taste. I hope to be back for their happy hour sometime soon!

The vibe is moody, intimate, and effortlessly cool--perfect for a date night or just a really elevated night out. The cocktails are incredible--creative, beautifully presented, and honestly some of the best I've had. Every drink feels intentional and a little unexpected in the best way. But what really makes it special is the experience as a whole. The space, the energy, the attention to detail--it all just works. It's one of those spots you don't want to leave... and immediately start planning your next visit. Absolutely one of my favorite places in St. Louis.

A quick online search brought us to Speakeasy Parlor in Maryville. Forest impressions: We loved the non-descript feather sign, and the "no snitches" on the door was kinda funny. Though, that plus the neon "cocktails" sign on the window sends a bit of a mixed message for a place that's supposed to be a throwback to a secretive prohibition-era lounge. The 2 TVs inside detracted from it a little, too, and fast was more unfortunate. Still...My second impression: What a cute little place! The bar and the furniture are lovely and the cushions were so polish and soft. There were many great, comfortable places for groups of two to four to chat, and there's no loud music, meaning you can actually HEAR your friends when you chat with them. (At least, if the place isn't full; the floor was pretty crowded with tables, so I suspect it could still get loud. Third impressions were all about the drinks. My partner had a Spicy Cantaloupe Daiquiri. His opinion: The cantaloupe sugar rim was maybe the best part of the drink, though the tequila-based daiquiri was well-balanced, very tasty, and just the right amount of spicy. I had an Earl of Gray cocktail with a lavender sugar half-rim. It smelled SOOO good, and it tasted even better. To be honest, it may have been one of the best cocktails I've had ever. I actually can't wait to bring a couple of friends here!

Once an AMAZING place but no oversight from the owners who allow their employees to scare people off. Maybe if this places loses enough business, they will fire their staff and replace them with employees that do their jobs and stay out of drama. We have enough bars in Wentzville we can go to, we don't need this. Just far too much attitude, drunk employees while on the job, one bartender that takes a cut from "helping" someone use the gambling machine while flirting to get that cut, nights where the staff dress like prostitutes (this isn't the Goat, folks), and another that dated a regular and when it didn't end well the guy ended up being lied about and banned (she does nothing but talk about this dude all night though. Never met him, yet feel like I know him). Now, she's chased off another group of regulars by making false accusations. Just serve drinks and do your job. I shouldn't KNOW about all of this, but I sat at the bar watching sports and she jabbered ALL NIGHT ABOUT IT to anyone who was there. I made the mistake of going back. Same bartender. Same result. I just come there to blow off steam and have a couple of drinks after work. I don't need to hear about the people you have decided are no longer welcome there because you personally don't like them. Just a toxic environment under the surface unfortunately. My circle of friends have all stopped going, but will give it a chance one day because it used to be the best local bar we had. I suggest to anyone considering this place to avoid it for now.

From the moment we walked in, the energy was warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of elevated without ever feeling pretentious. The class itself? Next level. We tasted eight different vermouths (yes, eight--each with its own personality), explored three amaros that completely changed how I think about flavor and balance, and then rolled up our sleeves to craft two cocktails that felt both approachable and elevated. It wasn't just a class--it was a journey through flavor, history, and technique. And then there's Patrick. Simply put--he's phenomenal. Incredibly knowledgeable, engaging without being overwhelming, and clearly passionate about what he does. He has that rare ability to make everyone feel like an insider, whether you're a cocktail novice or a seasoned enthusiast. You don't just learn--you get it. What stood out most was how effortlessly the whole experience flowed. It was educational, interactive, and just plain fun. You leave not only with new skills, but with a deeper appreciation for what's in your glass. This wasn't just a class--it was a memory. We'll be back. And next time, we're bringing friends.

The place was packed on a Friday night and there was one lone bartender that was kicking butt and taking names. We did not have to wait long for our libation. Cocktail prices range between $12 - $16. Just go online and see what times are available for the date you want. Since it was last minute for us, we barely got our tickets! When you order online, it will ask you what dinner option you want (steak vs. chicken). We took an Uber to the venue to not worry about parking. When you come in, it's the burlesque appeal--red walls, etc. Please don't be like me and bring cash, as you will want to tip the dancers later. When taking photos there, turn off your flash. There is a sign on each table as a reminder. Although we were seated right away, it took some time for the food to come out. It was such a random order of output. My salad came out and the lights were still on, so thankfully I didn't have to eat a salad in the dark with oily dressing on it. Since we were super hungry and the meal itself was taking a minute, we ordered chips and queso. I forgot what I ordered for a drink, but they placed a light in the drink, which was kind of neat and good in preparation for when the show starts and the lights go off. Speaking of going off, I was really turned off by my meal. For the $40 I spent, I would have rather eaten an air sandwich and had all proceeds go to the dancers. The chicken was overcooked (dry), the green beans were salty and sad, the mashed potatoes were cold like my drink, and my cornbread was surprisingly disgusting on top of being dry. I am not the kind of person to send food back, so I took the loss and pretended my mouth was a microwave for the mashed potatoes, gave up immediately on the green beans and cornbread, and only ate the parts of the chicken that had any signs of hydration. Thank GOD we ordered chips and queso, or I would have been HANGRY. I will not come back for the food if I can help it. However, the show was pretty good, and the ladies were so kind to us at the end despite me not having any cash to give for tipping.
