(unfortunately his office does not accept her insurance) for a second opinion. He wrote down his findings and told me what he saw. I take his recommendations to her appointment with me today and the dentist seemed upset that I actually took her for a second opinion. She would not even look at what he had recommended. She said that she too went to dental school and it didn't matter to her. She was very vague about what exactly my daughter needed done and would not go into details with me. She made me seem like i was a jerk for getting a second opinion regarding my daughters health. We finally agreed that she would fill the one cavity. She put the q- tip with the gel on it for literally 5 seconds before injecting my daughter. I know from experience they let that sit on the gums a few minutes before the injection to give it time to numb the area. After the filling of the tooth you would think the Doctor would talk to me but no. The assistant came to tell me that the tooth might require a root canal. He said they will look at it next time she comes back. There will not be a next time.

However, I have spent months calling and emailing trying to get the next stages of care for my kids set up without any reply. Finally I got a randomly sent (not in response to my emails) reply about setting up care, and was able to connect with someone. Set up the appointment needed for my youngest. They knew what type of appointment it was because they quoted me the price for it, and it was not a cleaning. Forty minutes before the appointment, when I have spent days prepping my autistic kid for the break in routine, I get a call asking why I'm coming in and saying the treatment is no longer needed. It was implied that I had made a regular cleaning appointment, which I 1) did not do, and 2) those are covered by our insurance and would not have cost anything. I was frustrated that my child missed out on this treatment due to the office's lack of communication with me, and I shared as much. Not a single apology. I was told they could see that they had returned "a call" and had not been able to leave me a voicemail. I called multiple times, have never had problems with voicemail not working, and had also emailed asking to set up services, which were not replied to. I cannot recommend this office for dental care. I feel awful that I let it go this long; I should have moved on after a few weeks of nonresponse instead of waiting a few months. I just thought we could get back on track with them. I don't believe they want our business and we will move on.

As I have visited twice I will contribute my take on The Center but it is not one of a long-time client. The offices are very well-designed and truly provide "one stop" dental services. The staff are very friendly. As an incoming patient I was able to take a conducted tour. This is a very impressive and logical office set up in an easy to find location with ample parking and comprehensive services and state of the art equipment. I was made aware of The Dental Assistance Savings Plan via Kleer.com at the outset, and am considering it as I retired from work with COBRA coverage from an insurance which is out of network for The Center. I read the Savings Plan form carefully and believe that I understand it. A decision should be made shortly. There seems to be confusion concerning billing practices at the Center. As I see it it is up to the patient to ask questions, take notes if needed and to make sure that they fully understand The Center's billing and receivables requirements. The person that I talked to is Shari, whom I talked to at The Center after wrapping up my last appointment. She is a very good billing manager and was very helpful. Thank you.

I was seen and prescribed an antibiotic for infection (which did not work). I have been in pain for the past week and they refused to give a different prescription- their only concern was getting me back in there for a $5k root canal or $400 extraction fee. They could've just prescribed a heavier dose of antibiotic to begin with, or maybe this is how they force patients to return right away for costly procedures.

CDS, got me in the chair, drilled the filling out, that took all of 10-15 minutes, and then they 3D printed the tooth, and in 1.5 hours I was done. After two visits, I would NOT recommend going here if you have complex jaw issues. My issue is that my discs are displaced and locked, not just that my muscles are sore bc of clenching and griding. Went I first saw Dr. Hoffman, he recommended botox in my masseters and temples. He also recommended a repositioning split. The bill that I was given at that appointment included both the botox and the fitting for the splint which was done at the follow up appointment two weeks later. This was well over $1k. At my follow up appointment, the fitting for the splint took only about 30 seconds which I found concerning. Then i got the price for the splint which was $4k. I did not feel comfortable paying this after a 30 second measurement, so I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. He also told me that he has only treated this in 5% or less of his patients. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience here. I felt pressured into spending over $1000 on something that was totally unnecessary. I wish he would have been upfront and honest about his ability to treat my issue and recommended that I go somewhere that is more specialized in TMJ problems.

Happened at least 5 times in the month of January and February. This week I received a call that they needed my appointment slot for an emergency patient and needed to reschedule my appointment for either later in that day or later in the week. My question to scheduler why couldn't the emergency patient take the 3pm appointment that they were offering me instead of pulling my booked appointment. No, true answer was given and at that moment. I felt that I no longer mattered as an individual. Then, the following day, received a call that my appointment for April 6th had to be moved. There would be no hygienist available. After considering my options I made a decision to pull my dental records and find another practice. I work in the city of Chicago and it's very difficult for me with no late and Saturday appointment options to get back to the suburbs during the week. I do highly recommend their services if you have the flexibility for scheduling during the week. .
