I cannot say enough good things about the barn, the communication, the work ethic and the staff! They paid great attention to ensuring access was maintained for our neighbors on our one lane road and were respectful of our property. The barn itself is well constructed of high quality materials. Minor concerns we had were addressed quickly and professionally. In addition, the price was significantly less than other vendors for a superior product! Highly recommend!

The entire team was a pleasure to work with. We were away most of time during the construction but we were kept updated on the progress and they addressed our questions or concerns promptly. We got back home to find a beautiful kitchen that is more functional and with more storage space, a very comfortable bathroom and mudroom, and a garage to finally park our car. Bob was great at coordinating and managing the plumbing, electrical, garage, and heating subcontractors involved in the project. He was on top of the details of the project and managed it to keep it on schedule. We couldn't be happier with the professionalism, quality, and responsiveness with the finished work and would hire Homestead Construction again for any future needs. We're grateful to Bob and his team for bringing our vision to life!

Then the beginning of June they showed up to my house at 7am with no call, no notice nothing. A guy was sitting in my driveway, didn't come knock on the door. Then exited his vehicle grabbed a ladder & put it on the side of my house right where my bedroom window is, where my wife was getting dressed for work. My wife was beyond upset, I called the office to explain to them what happened & all I got was we are sorry it won't happen again. obviously it won't happen again, you guys are gonna do the work & leave you won't be back. Then the Forman for the job texted me & said he was busy getting materials for the job & apologized for not communicating that his guys were showing up. But a phone call takes two seconds. if you had a minute to text me you could have called me to let me know your crew was showing up. Once the job was completed they sent the invoice immediately & it said I had 30 days to pay. I called the office to yet again explain how frustrated I am with my experience & how this is gonna reflect my bill. to no avail, I got "oh a company wide email was sent out to explain this can't happen". After all that I got called & texted 4 times each asking when I was gonna pay. Yet again I thought I had 30 days to pay. All in all invoice was paid & I will not do business with you again beyond unprofessional.

I have given him many options to make this right, but he has continued to disregard our concerns, make light of the situation, and refuse to take responsibility for the mishandling of our project which has now fallen behind a year +. He fabricated and inflated the numbers on the excavation to cover for the fact that he said he took the deposits (again without my permission) for septic and electrical materials in April 2021. He even upcharged us $1173 for electrical wire with the Change order over the summer 2021 because he said prices had gone up. When we asked him to produce these materials, after our conversation with the DEP where they confirmed that they had not spoken to him or requested he move the tank. DEP said the septic was approved in June and DEP had not been in contact with Ben since. I have screen shots of text messages where Ben stated he was going to begin digging for the septic, but DEP said they have to notify him atleast 2 days prior to work being done on the land. Even the work he did on the excavation was done incorrectly. He damaged areas we told him not to go into and he buried tree stumps even though we specifically asked him not to because that is DANGEROUS. He even destroyed a natural flowing stream we had on the property. We had to hire a new excavation company to fix all the things he messed up. BH Decker is nothing if not consistently deceitful.
