The filthiest fast food restaurant I have seen in some time. Most of the tables are dirty ( we are the only customers). One table still has dirty napkins/kids meal box. Windows and doors have finger prints. The bathroom has no soap or paper towels. There is a pile of used paper towels on the sink. Window sills are dusty. I am usually a generous reviewer for fast food. This is just nasty. The dipping sauce tub was opened before it was handed to me. Typically I love S & S. Blech. read more

After traveling for a few days, I felt that hangry feeling coming on and knew I needed to find something ASAP. This location did not disappoint. The garlic burger (can't remember the name) was heavenly. The fries were fresh with the perfect combination of soft and crispy. I asked for ranch and the flavor caught me by surprise. I'd be lying if I didn't say I wanted to dip everything into it, soda included. All in all it was a great price for the meal, and my belly was happy. read more

Got done from a rock concert and we were DYING for food. It's late, around 11:20pm but we needed something to eat so we chose steak n shake because really it was the only thing open inside. Knowing that we are coming in close to close, we knew they probably wouldn't be happy but boy were we surprised. Got our food in a decent amount of time, around 5 minutes which is awesome for the time of night. Not only were they super nice, but they actually went above and beyond with their service. I'm giving this a one star review because I walked into this steak 'n Shake. I was expecting to see a sign that said please wait to be seated. Instead I was greeted with a sign that said proceed to the kiosk and order what you want. And take a seat and wait for your number to be called. I refuse to give into corporate greed because they don't want to pay their employees. Steak 'n shakes are rapidly disappearing in this country. It was our first time going to a steak 'n shake so we weren't sure what to expect. In my head it was a fast food place but when we came in it said wait to be seated. We stood there for a bit and no body was telling us anything and servers were just passing us left and right. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to go to the counter and order but we noticed it was people that was paying for their bill. Anyways, not really a pale I'd go to again. Went here with a few of my friends. My friend is currently battling osteosarcoma and is 20. She has a handicap sticker due to the surgery she had recently had. We walked in and the first thing the manager David had to say was "you do know you have to be handicapped to park there?" Just jumped right at us assuming because we were teens that being handicapped just wasn't possible? He was so quick to assume because of our age. It was an uncomfortable feeling and was just not the environment any of us wanted to be in. Very disappointed. read more

What a disappointment! I was by myself & sat at the counter. After 5 minutes, I asked the cook who was right in front of me & he got the manager who got a waitress. I ordered the foot long hotdog with chili & after eating a third of it I noticed the raw onions were missing. This all took a half hour. I think everyone who works there thinks people sitting at the counter are only waiting for a table. They should put up a large sign over the counter saying " waiting area only, no food served ". NO STARS!!! (had to put 1 star to post this) my family and i all had off work today for the first time in a long time so we decided to go to this place called steak and shake. me and my wife drive to this store(15 minute drive there) order our food at the drive through and was told to pull to the first window. then the drive through worker micaela opened the window and ever so rudely said the total. no how are you hows your day nothing. i said well i hav.... she ripped the coupon right out of my hands and closed the window while i was in mid sentence. then she opened the window the second time and said another total, but i still had another phone coupon for the free milkshake which i didn't get anyway because its half off or some bull crap excuse. (don't download the app its a waist of time) when i handed her that she replied " omg kid really" then grabbed my phone and shut the window a third time. she then gave my phone back and said you cant get the free one because its half off right now. i said okay thats fine i guess. she hands me back my card THEN my drinks after i payed!! not before like every other place. drove home. (15 minute drive home!!!) opened the bag and everything was cold and i was missing a burger the one for my son!!! hes starving! so i have to drive back (15 minutes again) just to be screamed at because i wanted a full refund of MY money back instead of any replacement food because i wanted to go somewhere else now. she said there are NO refunds only food back and no gift cards either. i said ill call corporate to get my money back and she said go ahead your not getting anything from me no matter what corporate says (this supposedly the manager speaking) i was told to basically get bent and left that store with no food or my money back. ROBBED because of their mess up. i ended up going across the street to chik fil a which was the best food and best customer service by the way! and i called cooperate and they told me i had to wait 3 DAYS TO SEE IF I COULD GET MYYYY OWN MONEY BACK. still have yet to hear from them. my advice, go to ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. read more

Never waited so long for food here before. Waited way over 30 minutes, only to receive a cold double cheeseburger with dried cheese. Wait, I'm sorry, I ordered a double cheeseburger but recieved 1 1/2 cheeseburger. My dad ordered a prime burger, which is actually 2 regular patties they put together and charge you double for. Might as well order a double cheeseburger for half the price. Luke warm almost cold fried, half a scoop of Cole slaw and SOGGY onion rings. The shakes now come AFTER the meal inside of before like they used to, for us they did. Everyone else was getting theirs before the meal. Shakes are now just scoops of ice cream in a glass, therefore not drinkable. No more coming to this location. It has gone downhill. read more

Awful service. Waited 10 minutes for our waters to come. Ordered two steak burgers. One with everything and no tomato. Chicken fingers with buffalo sauce, and a cup of chili. The waiter admitted to losing our ticket. The steak burger with no tomato came with no ketchup, or mayo on it. They forgot the whole cup of chili. They forgot the buffalo sauce. If you want to come by here for a late night bite, or something cheap, then this is the place for you! I had the Jamaican Jerk Double. I wanted something spicy, but the jerk sauce they used did not deliver. It tasted garlicky, but still expect spiciness. It's an alright burger. Fries were perfectly crisp though. I come here pretty regularly because the food is cheap and usually pretty good. I love the garlic steak burger and the milkshakes are good. The service is a hit or a miss though. The wait is too long sometimes and half the time the food is cold or the milkshakes are melted like they've been sitting for a while. Other times the service is great and quick. Can I rate it a 6? Steak n' Shake in Moline, Illinois is awesome. I have been eating there for over the last 12 years. I have ALWAYS ordered the Frisco Melt Sandwich with two sides and have never ordered anything else EVER. I love their shakes, the service, the fries with the melted cheese, and everything is just great. The berry berry cobbler and the pumpkin pie is awesome when they have it. I once went in there while in my military uniform after being gone several years over in the middle-east. The manager recognized me from before I went in the military, and when they brought me my bill they told me it had all been taken care of by the manager. It brought tears to my eyes. I love this restaurant. I once had a scheme where I was going to have family go in there, order my Frisco Melt, freeze dry it somehow, and fedex or overnight it somehow to the middle-east in the hopes I could somehow have one the food is that awesome. Sure, the place can be gross in the restroom when it's busy, and it's usually ALWAYS busy with a long wait at the door. It's great food and it's priced right! I always get food from the $4 and under menu. My favorite is the garlic butter double cheeseburger...SOOO good!!! Though I recommend requesting they put the garlic butter (ask for extra) on the underside of the bun since their menu build is to lather the top of the bun with it so it's greasy and messy...I like to eat clean. So delicious! French fries are great, I love the shoestring fries. I tried the flavor variations and honestly not impressed with any of them, which sucks cuz I was really hoping the parmesan garlic ones would be good. But, still a good deal. Coca-Cola products with additional flavors (cherry, vanilla, etc.) to make it special so a definitely additional plus! Great stuff, definitely recommend this place!! read more

Typical my experiences at this particular location aren't that great (only reason why it's not 5 stars is because of the bad past experience). However, my visit tonight is what encouraged me to download the yelp app, create my own account, and tell you all a bit about my experience. My server, C.J, was all around friendly and kind. His presence brought joy to my and my party, and we left with a smile on our faces happy about our experience with C.J. His humor was smart, witty, and friendly. Wow! These guys need a zero and a call to the health inspector. While waiting for our food, an employee was brushing (seemed odd) the freaking ceiling!! Not directly in the kitchen but just adjacent to it. Gross. We should have left then. The waitress was completely inattentive and even came over and said, "do you need anything else?" and then turned around and walked away while my daughter was asking for a to-go box. When we finally flagged her down, she brought a dirty box! Must have been the crud from the ceiling. Oh, almost forgot, they brought my wife the completely wrong order. I and another person sat at the counter , and was greeted quickly then we watched as the guy on the grill jammed his plastic gloved hand in to his back popcket and dug around for a wad of keys, to give to another employee, then went ahead and touched 20 burgers , 15 pieces of cheese and three rows of buns with the same hand. Who knows what the hell was on those keys , or where they have been? very bad show for anyone wanting to eat there. after all the of the meat came off, we waited for another ten minutes for our meals to show up. 19 minutes after we had our orders taken still no food. where did all those burgers go ? we both left hungry and disappointed, the good news ! If this website let me give a zero, Steak and Shake would have it. I've heard rumors of their inability to keep foods from mixing from my friend that came here and there was a chunk of hamburger in her milkshake. I am a 7 year vegetarian and today I found pork and beans in my pancakes. Not only that but the manager Ryan saw it fit to try giving me coupons for next year to make up for it. I had to walk out of the building to collect myself and while I was gone the manager laughed about it in front of my friends and didn't seemed concerned with the fact that this mistake could make me sick if I had eaten more of it. This mistake shouldn't be taken lightly because if something was accidently added that someone could have an allergic reaction to they could get into some major issues. Luckily the other manager Salvador was more understanding and was clearly embarrassed by this mistake. This issue cannot continue happening. Fix your system and get more people working for you like the second manager. read more
