Hubby and I decided to give steak 'n Shake another try since they switched to beef tallow for their fried potato products. It's probably been for five years since we ate a steak 'n Shake because it had gone downhill so bad. Well, I have to say I wasn't impressed again. We each ordered an original double cheese steak burger. I added mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and pickle to mine and remove the ketchup. There was a quarter sized dollop of mustard on my burger and a dime size dollop of mayonnaise. There was enough lettuce on my burger for two sandwiches. The meat itself was thin and overcooked making it dry out. We got ketchup out of the dispenser at the drink station and it turned out it was rancid making our onion rings and tater tots taste horrible. Luckily, after only two bites, I figured out what it was and went and got some packaged to catch up from the counter and told them that the ketchup in the dispenser was rancid. The manager just kind of shrugged and walked to the back of the store. We were there for another 10 minutes and nobody bothered to remove the ketchup from the dispenser. Overall, the dining room, every single table needed to be wiped off and the floor needed swept. The tables were worse than the floor. Needless to say service is a kiosk and then they yell your number when your order is ready so that's a no go. Food was mediocre. Ambience is like any other steak 'n Shake. We won't be back. Culver's and Freddy's have it going on all over steak 'n Shake. read more

Dirty and nasty the biggest roach I've ever seen was just walking all over the dining room. When I pointed this out to the employees they acted like they didn't see what the big deal is. Absolutely disgusting threw my food straight in the trash and asked for a refund. While I waited I got to witness on of the young employee arguing with another guest about the roach. There are 4 kiosks to order from and one human register which ONLY TAKES CASH which I didn't know until I got up to the register. I don't like kiosks- I want to order with a person. Literally everything sucked Tables were disgusting, floor looks like is hasn't been mopped in days, they put in new ordering machines in place of an actual person, I guess that means they don't have to clean anything either. If I could give NO stars I would! Went through the drive thru waited 30 min with just 3 cars in front of me. I got my milkshake only to find it was the wrong one. Went inside and I swear it felt like i was in a war zone! That place is dirty... not just dirty but filty and old. There's no way they could of passed inspection! WILL NEVER RETURN... After a long day of work a Milkshake was on my mind, so I decided to get some for my family as well. The line was somewhat long but we all sat there for over 45 mins (ridiculous) anyways instead of driving off I decided to give them a chance I know we're all short staff. I place my order and they were okay , when I get to the window this drive thru guy is in a sweaty white tank top with his arms resting on the window while waiting for my card....(disgusting) But I hand him my card .. didn't get a receipt with my order but they're were milkshakes so I just kept going. I drive to McDonalds to pick up an order and while wait in the line for ever I decided I wanted to try my milkshake..before I could take a sip there was fucking hair in my milkshakes, yes milkshakes ! I'm super pissed and disgusted terribly... I take my order back to them but the drive they was so long I tried to go in the inside but they had it locked early. My sister waited by the door and the employee just stood there. He comes to the door and ask her if he could replace it and we did not want a replacement .. he took the drinks but never gave her the refund. I had to get out and solve the situation. I was making the long drive back home from being in south Ga. all day. I wanted a burger and saw this place so I decided to stop. Mind you, this is a 24 hour business. It's about 9:30pm. I ask for unsweetened tea, the lady said they were out. I asked it they would make some more, she said no because it was late. Again this is a 24 hour business, and even the dining room was open another 2 hours. I order my food in a full service restaurant and they ask me if I want mayo. I asked if it no longer came with mayo. She says, we don't put the condiments on the burgers after 9. WOW! Ok I guess I will take my business elsewhere. This place is the worst. I come here and they tell me they are closed in the dine in area. Then you come to the drive thu and their truck is block cars from ordering and when you drive around they say they take your order at the window!!! Brandy was excellent!! It was great! The food was hot and the time it came out was fast. Most steak and shakes don't deliver food that fast but it was as tasty as others. The worst customer service I have ever been in. They have multiple employees that are totally lost. We don't know about the food and have been waiting for approximately 20 mins Most of the tables were dirty and have waited to have the tables to be cleaned. People that came in behind us sat down to a dirty table. They were waited on, which puts 3-4 family's ahead of us. I have spoken to the manager which to no avail nothing was done. 25 mins in we finally got our drinks. We had to call inside to tell them that there was a long line behind us and asked if the drive through was even open. They finally took our order. We ordered food and a milkshake. When we got to the window the lady asked (after she ran the card) if we were informed that the milkshake would have a long wait so we asked to have it removed and get a drink instead. I have gone to Steak and Shake a few times now and I have a point of view on this. The environment is very relaxed if not somewhat loud. I would not recommend taking a date here for some intimate dining. If you have children that are noisy; however, that it would be great. To compare it to another restaurant is what I have to do because I would have difficulty telling the difference between this restaurant and Freddie's. The food is very similar, the environment is very similar, the desserts are very similar. The one difference is that Steak and Shake is full service. There is not waiting for a number or waiting at the counter. I would eat at this place in a pinch especially if I wanted a cheap meal. Finally ate at steak and shake for my first time. The steak burger was good as were the fries. The decor is bright and cheery with comfortable booths and tables. The service, while quick to have my order taken, I was slow to get my food and my server never came back and I needed more to drink. This was surprising as the place was slow in the middle of the afternoon. It took almost 20 minutes to get my food and forever to get my ticket after I ate. Very irritated with this location. Moved here last year and have only actually been able to eat here once because they always abandon the building before closing. Not just 20 minutes but hours before closing there is no one there. I've made an attempt to eat here 4 times in the last two weeks alone and every night past sun down they are closed. Yet advertising as open all night on weekends and till 12-1 on weekdays. Last time I went was 9:30pm on a Saturday and yet again the building was empty no signs to explain why. Seems like when the sun goes down they are "closed" regardless of what time they advertise closing. I tried to call a few times to ask what the actual schedule is and no surprise they won't answer the phone in the middle of the day. I'm done wasting my gas and time to drive 20 minutes each way for no reason. I'm not trying to eat here ever again and really hope management takes some responsibility to change their hours or hang a sign. I will not go back. I have tried and i have given up. EXTREMELY slow . May take 30 minutes for one shake if you go through drive through and only 2 or 3 cars in line. Then when you finnaly get to window they are rude.thier food is not good enough to go through all that. But if i do want steak and shake I can drive to mt. zion location.. get a shake and burger and be back home by the time this place has 1 car move:) read more
