This spot is near my house, and I like to come here sometimes to get a quick & cheap meal. Literally two of my meals only costed $10. Of course, you get what you pay for. It's not the best burgers around or anything, but it's convenient & affordable for those types of days. Their fries are a hit-or-miss too. Some days they're terrible and some days they're "fresh." I do like that their burgers are smaller (compared to McDonalds & BK) and doesn't make you grossly full. Their chili is pretty decent, but the best thing on their menu is their milkshake! read more

We've always loved eating here but will not be going back. There was not one clean table to sit at, there was trash on the floors and rugs, the shoestring fries have been replaced with cafeteria style fries and my husband watched them put all of the food in the microwave and then serve it. Never had a bad experience here, staff is always friendly and funny. Not too pricey either, I personally love the frisco melt and the garlic butter burger definitely has to be top 3 things i would get here. For a drive through line you would think it was fast. About 10-15 minute wait per car. We stayed in line to see if it was good. Same burger you can get anywhere else. I don't know if inside service is faster but drive through room almost an hour for 7 vehicles. read more

I really want to love this place because I grew up eating Steak and Shake in other places. But until they work out whatever is going on behind the scenes I'll have to give it a hard pass. Our first visit wasn't horrible but the wait was ridiculous.We figured it was growing pains because it had just opened. We tried to go in yesterday and get a milkshake. We were informed that there were no to go orders allowed. People in the drive-thru obviously are getting "to go" orders but walking in the store meant you had to sit down and wait for your order. We've been here about 3 times and each time we've had huge orders. At least 4+ different meals each with a different shake. The line can be long in the drive thru but we've never waited THAT long (20 or more mins) to go through. They always get our orders correct. Every. Single. Time. That's hard to do for us. If you are in a hurry for your food, don't go here! I wanted a milkshake, but they were not being served today, for what ever reason. So I ordered a glass of water and a Chili 5-Ways. It took 10 minutes to get the water. After I set there for 30 minutes, and still did not have my food, I left. The place was not very busy at 11:20ish, with plenty of places to set, so I don't know what the problem was. I was in there a week or so after they opened and it was just as slow. The food was good when I got it the first time there, but waiting that long is just unacceptable. I contacted the home office and told them about it. Who knows if they will correct it or not. I've eaten at several Steak n' Shakes....by far the worst. The frank with chili and cheese was kid size. The chili was rewarmed and the frank had a burnt taste. My mom's burger had two bottoms buns. I decided to try a burger. The mayo was literally dripping from the burger. When I told the manager about the two bottoms buns, he replied, "Sorry." He didn't think the burger needed to be remade. After reading all the reviews I was nervous to stop here. I was headed back to New Orleans yesterday and figured what's the worst that could happen? Sure enough the line inside and out were just ridiculous. People in front and behind me in line were leaving due to it taking so long, people sitting at the tables and booths were waiting on their food and getting impatient. I finally got to the clerk and she seemed so overwhelmed. Placed my order, got my drink, and was told my shake would be out in a minute. A 40 minute wait after placing my order, I got my burger and fries. I didn't get my shake at this point and had to remind the lady. I got the shake maybe 2 minutes after she dropped off my food. Now this is the part I was worried about, eating the food. A lot can get messed up, especially when they are busy and wait times are so long. Burger was juicy and buns weren't soggy, fries were crisp and I was very happy! The wait to place the order was about 20 minutes, wait for the food 40. I had no where to be in a rush so it was not a problem for me. Everyone had a job and was doing it. I think they're just short staffed for the site. Lots of negative reviews here and from people I know. All I have heard is how slow and terrible the service is. I was finally talked into trying by my kids. I did not have high hope's when I saw a full drive through and full inside. We were seated and Joshua was our server. Very personable and helpful. Prior to ordering I asked how long the wait was, he replied 15 minutes for shakes and about 10 for our food. We all got different burgers and one got a shake. The shake was delivered to our table in 10 minutes and our food at 15 minutes. Totally up to par for a sit down type restaurant that cooks your food on demand. Service is horrible. All the kids do is stand around, and talk and flirt with each other. "Javier G." stood behind the counter 7 minutes before he noticed our table and we sat in the booth next the register 10ft from him. The girl he was flirting with who is also an employee was extremely loud. The pregnant hostesses seemed to do the most work of anyone else working. The whole time I was eating, I could barely hear myself thinking over the girl who talked so loudly. Food was okay, but is definitely outweighed by the horrible service. I was so disappointed in this location because Steak 'n Shake is one of my favorite fast food restaurants! When entering, we had to wave someone down so we could get seated. There was no shakes, and it felt like they were out of half of the menu. We waited ten minutes for someone to ask for our drinks, just for her to forget about them. When we did get our burgers, the buns were so soggy. Both of our burgers were still raw in the middle. The service is slow, and the workers were more worried about having conversations in the back, than they were about waiting their tables. So disappointed! read more
