The location next to the airport is convenient even though we weren't flying. Access to I25 is less than a minute. We were greeted by the front desk staff and welcomed to Albuquerque. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was clean and roomy enough for two plus our small furry friend. Yes it's dog friendly! The room included a stove top and full size fridge. Breakfast was dazzling: waffles, omelets, fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, link and patty sausage, soft drinks, juices and excellent coffee. The lady cooking and keeping up with the crowd did a fantastic job. The dining area was large and kept clean. There is a business center, ATM, free laundry (bring your own detergent pods) and a dog area. We up graded our lodging this year and don't regret it. We definitely recommend Staybridge Suites.

Great hotel close to the Albuquerque airport. Short distance to Old Town and UNM which have great dining options. The hotel is recently renovated so everything looks new and modern. I booked a one-bedroom suite. It was smaller than other hotels I've stayed at but it was higher quality. The rooms have a kitchen, with appliances and cookware. They also provide a laundry basket and the washer/dryer is free. I brought my own laundry detergent and dryer sheets but the front desk sells that as well. There's a small shop with snacks and treats next to the front desk. Free breakfast buffet every morning with a wide variety of options. The main negative was that many of the staff don't speak English. When my stove wasn't working, they sent Housekeeping to my room and the man didn't speak a word of English, so that was frustrating. Another time, Housekeeping knocked on my door to tell me something, yet I couldn't understand her because she didn't speak English. Very frustrating. Also during breakfast, some of the breakfast items needed to be refilled and the staff were very slow to do so. So there was often a long wait to get eggs and the staff were nowhere to be found.

Great location with beautiful views! Waking up to a view of hot air balloons was quite a sight! Very easy to locate. Exceptional service. Room was very clean and you could tell staff was taking extra effort in sanitizing rooms and common spaces. Breakfast service was great, offering quick meal kits we could easily take in to our room. Sadly, we were not advised about having to make appointments for the pool, so we missed out. If I had any criticism it would be to have something posted at check in about making pool appointments. All around, one of our best stops in our cross country drive. We will definitely stay here again!

The Good. -The bed and the room are both comfortable and clean. -They have Cheddar Sour Cream Ruffles at the front desk. -It's affordable. And breakfast is free. -We were in and out with no hassle at all. The Bad. -I couldn't figure out the air conditioning for a lot longer than I'd care to admit. In my defense, it shouldn't be covered in buttons that don't work if it's controlled by a thermostat located elsewhere in the room. The Ugly. -There's no place to eat breakfast where you can avoid listening to the TV blaring with Fox News talking heads. (This is not a political statement, I just don't need six men yelling at me at once at 8 am.)

The sofa bed doesn't unfold all the way!

Everything seemed fine at first. The staff was friendly, the room seemed nice and was fully equipped. However, I found not one, not two, but THREE long black hairs entwined with the bath towels. I tossed them aside, but I wish I had taken pictures. I was tired and just wanted a place to crash. Which comes to the next issue: when I pulled out the sofa bed IT WOULD NOT COME OUT ALL THE WAY. It got stuck on the "lip" of the TV stand. Scrapes on the stand indicated that other people found a way to make it work, but I couldn't. Had to sleep on the couch, which wouldn't have been so bad except I GOT BUG BITES ON MY ANKLES. I will never stay at this place again, and I would caution others from doing the same.

Okay first things first- Robert, behind the front desk is literally an angel, he worked so hard to make everything go smoothly and to find us a room that worked with our needs. Second off- this hotel is my favorite hotel I have ever stayed in, ever. Clean, friendly, amazing staff and so many resources... this doesn't just raise the bar for hotels, it revolutionizes hotel-ing. From free laundry machines, a great fitness room, to one of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had- next to their VERY reasonable price, you'd be crazy to try to stay anywhere else. We came in town, last minute, as a group of five(including a baby), for my sisters death. Robert gave us so much grace and love as we were like half crying at the desk, juggled around rooms (because they were nearly full) and provided a crib ASAP. This is an extended stay hotel, and now I know why! I never want to leave! They have free buffet dinners some nights, board games and movies to borrow, an amazing staff, very clean and updated facilities... SERIOUSLY, stay here. If you've read this far into my review, you obviously have to stay here! My ONLY slight complaint is that I had to clean down the crib after it was delivered, but they probably didn't get to deep-clean it before we needed it very well because we literally checked in and said, "can you bring us a crib ASAP?" LOL. But seriously, that's like no biggie, I am just a paranoid momma. Seriously, I WANT to come back to Albuquerque just so I can stay here again! Pictures of the breakfast buffet, because I am SO impressed, based on price point here- they really didn't cut any corners!

Affordable and Comfortable Stay Near Old Town Albuquerque - With a Few Caveats…read more We stayed at Sandia Peak Inn - Old Town ABQ (a Howard Johnson by Wyndham), and I'll start by saying this: the price was definitely right. While it's not a luxury hotel, we more than got our money's worth, and I'll give an honest, balanced review. One of the main reasons we chose this property was the availability of EV charging. They offer both a J1772 and a Tesla destination charger, with a $10 nightly fee to use them. That was a great convenience and worked without issue. We booked the accessible oversized king room, which was very spacious, nicely decorated, and included a comfortable bed. We thought it had a sofa but found a day bed instead. The room also featured a small work table and a nice easy chair--well equipped for a short stay. The parking lot is tight, with narrow spaces and limited room, but our reserved EV charging spot helped avoid problems. Breakfast was modest but acceptable. There was a waffle maker, juice machine, coffee, peanut butter (the only visible protein), various breads, jams, and some overripe bananas. Vegetarian-friendly, but not very filling. One downside we experienced was related to smoking. Although our room was non-smoking, the moment I stepped outside in the morning, someone was smoking nearby. While I don't know how frequent this is, it would be preferable if the property were entirely smoke-free, especially near room entrances. The neighborhood felt like classic Old Town Albuquerque. I didn't feel unsafe, but I wouldn't recommend walking the area late at night. The exterior of the property has been nicely styled with Southwestern décor, which adds charm despite the budget-conscious operations. In short: everything wasn't perfect, but it all worked--and for the price, we walked away satisfied.

The front desk attendant was very nice and offered me some Halloween candy after I got my room key. As I walked to my room I noticed that the room doors were painted white and the scuff marks from luggage hitting the doors were noticeable. The room was nice and had a separate living room, small kitchen, and decent sized couch. The bed was king sized, comfy, and plenty of pillows. My pups likes his pillows. This is a nice hotel, but you can tell it's tailored towards the blue collar individuals who work hard and has long stays. I didn't try the complimentary breakfast served at 6 am to 9 am even though I was up and walking the dog but I did get a coffee and it was good. I did utilize the gym and it was really nice! It had plenty of weights and several new treadmills with TV's attached, and cycle machines. They also had a full sized pool if you wanted to do swimming laps. I'm giving this a 4 star based off the gym, front desk attendant kindness, and room cleanliness. If they repainted the scuffed doors the score could go higher. This was a good stop and if you need a rest stay here.

The property itself is beautiful and expansive, sits on Tamayame land, and at the outset of the conference a member of the Native American tribe welcomed us and shared about the land and setting. The property has with multiple event spaces, an on-site trail, a large gym, and several pools. It is a fairly large resort (our room was at one end, so it was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main lobby area). Each day began with a large breakfast buffet, and lunch was similarly well done. One of the highlights was being able to sit outside during meals at large tables overlooking the grounds, mountains, trees, and fresh air made for a really peaceful setting. For breakfast, I enjoyed the red/green chilies chilaquiles (New Mexican style breakfast), it was very flavorful and I enjoyed trying but was very spicy/heavy. From a conference and events perspective, the resort is very impressive. There is a large main conference room with a stage, and the room can accommodate over 100 people (at round tables), along with many smaller breakout rooms. Over two evenings, we attended events at different venues on the property, one about a 10-minute walk away (with hotel mini-bus transportation available), and another closer to the main area under a tent. The more distant venue was quite large and set apart, likely used for weddings and larger celebrations. That evening included a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and multiple bar setups. The second evening closer to the main hotel was a seated dinner under a tent, with music and performances in a more contained setting. There is also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby, as well as another more casual restaurant by the pool. Given time constraints, I was not able to fully take advantage of all the amenities (including the spa, horseback riding, and longer trail walks), but I would absolutely recommend this property. It is incredibly scenic, serene, and feels immersed in nature, and I would gladly return.

Beautiful, classic New Mexican architecture surrounded by desert and mountain views. The grounds are beautiful with options for biking (included), tennis/pickleball, walks, horseback riding, and golf. Located about 30 minutes north of Albuquerque and 45 minutes south of Santa Fe, made it easy to spend time in either. We were able to check in early, which was so nice after an early travel morning. Our room was large and included the classic hotel amenities, including waters. We were staying slightly during the off season, so two pools were open, which was fine as it wasn't that busy and it didn't get hot until about noon. Due to the location of the resort, it is easiest to eat at the property and there are a couple of options available: The Corn Maiden - nicer dining experience, Santa Ana Cafe - casual sit-down, Rio Grande Lounge - bar and bites, and Plaza - pool cafe. During our visit the Plaza pool restaurant was only open on Saturday. We tried in-room dining for breakfast one morning, as we were up early, the eggs had little to no flavor, and a couple of our items were forgotten/late. Not a huge deal as we understood they were training a lot of staff during the time of our stay. Overall, the food throughout all the dining options was just okay, and if there were more dining options close by, I would probably go there. The restaurants all tasted the same and there didn't seem to be much variety. It would be nice if at least one of the dining options was a different kind of cuisine to bring some variety. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the staff was so friendly and helpful. There are plenty of activities to do at the resort and we loved that they had nightly s'mores. The room was great, but food could be better.

On a busy convention night, the dining room was packed, yet the energy felt festive rather than frantic. Thanks to a well-timed reservation, my party settled in comfortably despite the initial blast of aggressive air-conditioning--a smart move after last week's heat, though the growing crowd of happy diners soon brought the room to a more pleasant temperature. Service was excellent from the start. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, a supervisor, and our server, setting a tone of genuine care that never wavered. The pacing was near-perfect: attentive without hovering, with drinks refreshed proactively and plates cleared at just the right moments. To begin, I ordered the green chile beef stew. It arrived promptly, hot and deeply flavorful, with tender beef and that signature New Mexican green chile heat that lingers just enough to wake up the palate. For my birthday libation, the S'mores Old Fashioned was a delightful twist--smoky, sweet, and dangerously smooth. The entrées showed Char's Southwestern strengths. The enchiladas were deeply comforting, while the carne asada arrived perfectly grilled with robust flavor. Both were elevated by the bright, creamy Mexican Street Corn on the side--charred kernels, cotija, and a hint of lime that cut through the richness beautifully. We closed the evening with the new arroz con leche from the updated dessert menu. Warm, cinnamon-kissed rice pudding topped with a generous scoop of cinnamon ice cream proved to be the ideal sweet finale--comforting yet refined, with contrasting temperatures that made every bite exciting. From the thoughtful service to the consistent execution of both classics and new offerings, Char once again proved why it's a go-to spot for special occasions. We pulled up to the front entrance where a sign clearly said Check-In Parking, yet were told we could not leave the car and had to valet or park in the garage. We weren't even allowed to step inside to check in, which made things unnecessarily awkward. As we just wanted to check in run a grab a bite to eat down the street as we just drove 7 hours. The hotel itself is very nice and interesting -- it's one of the first Hilton hotels built from the ground up, which is pretty cool. The room was a highlight. Spacious, clean, and well designed with a beautiful large soaking tub, separate shower, and a great layout overall. Morning coffee service was disappointing 2 of they days we stayed -- coffee was out then tea was missing the next, and no water bottles were replaced in our room after housekeeping, so we couldn't make our own in theroom. Dinner at Char did not meet expectations, especially for the price. Our medium-rare steaks came out well done, and although we mentioned it, nothing was done to fix it. We had a party there a couple nights later and it was buffet style. Our steak was way better in that and I hate buffets. That said, Jarod at the bar was great we had a few drinks with him through the nights we stayed and he was out bartender at the party we hosted he was one of the highlights of the staff that we came across. Lastly, the surrounding area felt pretty sketchy at night. Some positives, but enough frustrations that it impacted our stay.

The employees whom helped us were very nice and efficient and checked up on us with a phone call once we got settled in our room. As for the room itself, it was perfect for what we needed. We had a great view of the city. The only cons we had was the HVAC system was not working properly. The room was very stuffy and no matter what temp we lowered it to (went all the way down to 60) the A/C did not kick in). The fan was working but not blowing any cold air (the hallway's A/C was working). I reported it to the front desk upon check out. Why would I pay extra for 2 beds to end up asking for 1? Then they say it's because I chose "first come first serve" at check in. What does that even mean? Why wouldn't I get the room I RESERVED? Then they offer a rollaway bed. No apology, acknowledgement of the mess up, or offer for reimbursement of the difference in price. I said I'd prefer a room with the 2 beds I paid for as I had my 4 month old son and my 63 year old mother. They said they were sold out, which means they sold my 2 bed room to someone else. Then they say they can't refund me because I booked through a 3rd party and would have to go through them. So I did. They had to contact the hotel on my behalf and the supervisor offered restaurant vouchers... Which I didn't take. Still no apology or acknowledgement of the mess up and no real solution. I won't name his name, but the guy that checked me in and that I talked to about the issue was completely unhelpful, unfriendly, and could not have cared less at what was going on. Not to mention 3 of the 4 elevators were malfunctioning/not operating at check in during an extremely busy weekend, and our AC unit barely kept the room cool enough to not sweat when turned all the way on high at the lowest temperature. Definitely will never stay here again when there is a Hilton and Sheraton right up the street. I do not recommend, at all. Also adding to this that I discovered I have a $32 charge on my card from them when I purchased nothing there and only gave my card for the deposit. Just an awful ran hotel.
