I absolutely love it there, oh and so does my pup! When you walk into the establishment is smells like chlorine. That's a plus, because bayyybeee some of those other dog daycares smelled like wet stinky dog when you came in and we're not clean. Did I mention, that this place is extremely clean? Even the grooming section is clean and tidy when I did my walk through. They are very responsive and attentive. I love their level of communication and care. Our two dogs stayed here for a long weekend and we all had a very positive experience! We were able to get both of them "interviewed" for boarding in a couple of weeks and it felt good knowing all the dogs they saw were also fully vaccinated. Check in can be a little slow, so budget ~10-15 minutes into your schedule for that. I do wish there was a better system for waiting when multiple dogs & families are present (maybe request that dogs & people wait outside if another dog is already waiting inside to prevent the pups from getting riled up in the lobby). Parking is plentiful and the location is great for trips out of BWI and Amtrak. They have a private facebook group with over 100 photos posted every day, and the digital postcard of just our dogs ($7) was super cute. It also gave us a little peace of mind knowing that even though our dogs were too big to share a suite, they were able to get connecting rooms with a doggy door in between! Every member of the staff we've spoken with over the phone and in person has been very kind and helpful, and they're really good about responding to calls and texts. Knowing that there's a vet on-site is also a wonderful feeling just in case something were to happen while we're away. Our dogs seemed like they had a blast too, based on the photos and their excitement to return after interview day (even our shy girl!) Their final morning they even got to play outside before we picked them up at 8am! And then they napped all day - exhausted from all the fun. read more

When we adopted our dog, Kobe we tried everything to help him socialize more. He loved dogs but was/is very timid around people. After a failed attempt at hiring someone to come to the house to let him out we turned to Stay. Colleen at Stay worked with him to become comfortable at day care and we were overjoyed with how well he reacted to the staff. Now he's a changed dog and goes 2x per week. We do everything at Stay, which takes the stress off of me, and our pup. He gets groomed, boards while we are out of town, and now even sees the vet there. It's a full service place and we are SO lucky to live so close. We have left Kobe there for boarding for a 10 day trip when we went to Italy last year and although it was much longer than I'd ever want to board my dog I was happy knowing that he was well taken care of. Day Care - they are out w/the other dogs either inside or outside for the majority of the day. Only being in the "crate" (and if you take a tour which I suggest you do, you'll see these "crates" are palaces), for an hour or so a day! Much different than other places. Staff - Everyone gets to know your dog. Tris, Norma, Colleen, Jessica, Phillip and the list goes on. They will be just as excited to greet your pet in the morning as you are to see them when they get home! They take pics every day during daycare too to their fb group and that's always so fun to see what they do w/the dogs. Dr Klimovitz is the most wonderfully gifted vet , her and team including Lauren take a lot of time with your pet and give great care . I drive 1.5 sometimes 2 hours from home or work to come here because after living in Baltimore all my life she is the best vet in my opinion. My pets love coming here . I have not done the boarding yet because the weeks I needed were already booked which tells me they hook in advance and fill up ( so people love them). , I mainly use the curbside pet services . There is a doggie bakery inside to treat your fur babies to something that's good for them and homemade ( not processed like so many mass produced treats ). . I have gotten them plenty of treats and the pumpkin cookies seem to be their favorite . We are new clients at Stay Pet Resort and I couldn't wait to leave a review! My dog has only been there one day for his evaluation but I'm SO HAPPY with their structured process that I HAD to leave a review. I figured I can just update it along the way. I've been on the hunt to finding a doggie daycare because I have to return to work. Since I don't have any human babies, my dog IS my baby . I found something wrong with three daycares before arriving to Pet. I really liked their initial emails. They required vet paperwork and they also require the canine flu vaccine which made me feel very safe. A lot of daycares just require one or two vaccines. Stay requires a bit more and that gave me a peace of mind! Once I submitted the vet paperwork, they scheduled a phone interview on a different day. I really liked that too! There's something about scheduling to make time to get to know my dog that really makes my heart sing . The phone interview was great! Janice reviewed all of their policies with me. She also listened to all of my hopes and fears about my dog at daycare. She didn't make me feel crazy for having a few concerns and that made me feel comfortable with continuing on in the next steps in their onboarding process. Janice then scheduled my dog (Luka) for his evaluation day. I had to wait a few weeks for the evaluation day to come but that's okay. That told me that they're busy and perhaps that's a great sign! Luka's evaluation day was fantastic. I REALLY like that Stay opens early for drop offs. When I arrived, there were two staff members there. I was shocked that more than one person was there as it was so early (it was still dark out!). They were actually HAPPY! They welcomed us in warmly. One staff member took Luka after letting Luka sniff and climb all over him. I really loved that. The other staff member had me sign in and took Luka's lunch. She then answered all of my questions (yes I STILL ended up having more questions even though I asked a few during the phone interview). I felt really good about leaving him with them. I missed him like crazy but I was excited for the day he was going to have. On my way out, I noticed more families coming in! That also made me feel comfortable and excited for Luka. During Luka's evaluation, I ended up having more questions once I got home ‍. So I emailed them throughout the day. They responded to EVERY SINGLE EMAIL! The Evaluator called me during the midday to tell me how Luka did. It was all good news and I was so happy that he passed!!!! I finally get to have a daycare that's right for us. I was worried that I wouldn't find a place that could handle my personality and love Luka well. Stay seems to be extremely responsive to email. This is huge! They also seem to have an amazing internal communication system with each other. I told the front desk lady something and the Evaluator actually asked me about it (two different people)!!! I'm sold! I'm excited for Luka to make more friends. I know we're extremely new but Stay earned an early review from me. They have an amazing streamlined process and I couldn't be happier. COVID-19 precautions: Masks are required. For the sign in sheet, they have a labeled cup for the used pens and a labeled cup for the clean pens. That's huge! We have two Frenchies, we lived with them in Hawaii and California, then we moved to Maryland. That means our dogs went few daycares and hands down Stay Pet is the best by far! Our dogs have been there many times, including boarding for several nights. We feel a bit guilty for leaving dogs there and enjoy our time without them, but every time we pick them up they are actually super happy, which makes us super happy too! One time, the staff came out to help us when our dog escaped from her leash....! We were so moved that they care about our dogs even outside of Stay Pet... The rudest owner Jodi! Took my dogs in, 4 in all. Two dogs it took 2 hours and the second two took an hour. When I asked why it took little time they became all offensive. Then Jodi stated we were loud and they have video and I'll be filing a defamation suit and having those tapes pulled. When I take my dogs in you can hear the staff screaming at the dogs on the other side of the fence. Maybe she should hear and review those tapes of her staff. And then she's so cheap she won't allow staff overnight to stay with dogs who are boarding, leaving the dogs alone with nobody there in case of an emergency. It's all about money for her. We've been taking our pup here for the past couple months, and even boarded him in a very nice pet suite. That said, we pay to take him there once or twice a week for "Doggie Daycare". Typically if you don't bring food, they will supply it for a fee. Recently, they started charging me because they had to "pour the dog food into the bowl". I mean, if I weren't already paying for daycare I could understand. Shouldn't pouring dog food in a dog dish be included in the daycare pricing? I am so so so happy I was referred to this place for my husky Kato. Today was his evaluation day and I couldn't be more pleased. I dropped him off in the morning and they two girls working were very friendly and answered all my questions. One even reminded me to leave Kato's lunch (which I had said I brought but then completely forgot to hand over as I was leaving due to all the other questions I had) When I came to pick him up I asked if I could have a tour and the owner Jodi took me right back to see where all the dogs played and stayed. I loved seeing Kato still playing with the other dogs who were waiting for their people to pick them up too! I love the large areas the dogs have to play in and I will definitely be bringing Kato back for daycare and even boarding when I take summer vacation. Can't say how happy I am that I found this place! Finally, somewhere I feel totally comfortable leaving my (very spoiled) pups. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, I was happy from the moment I walked in. I took a tour and I loved it, they really thought about the dogs comfortability when creating this place. Pricing is a little more expensive than the other places I've been to, but so so worth it. I can actually be excited about going on vacation with a peace of mind that my dogs will be in great hands. My favorite thing about them is that the boarded dogs get to play for most of the day, not just sit in their rooms. Other places make you pay extra for that. Our chubby Chihuahua has been a regular overnight boarding guest at Stay Pet Resort for the past 6-7 months. I will not take her anywhere else. When we took a tour of the facility, I was so glad to see how clean and well organized it was. All the dogs looked happy too. Later that week, I dropped her off for her evaluation day. Thankfully, she passed. Our gal can be a real sassy pants and needs time to warm up to strangers. The staff at Stay are patient and caring and know how to work with her. My little rolly-polly really likes it there; she gets SO excited when she sees the building. I selected Stay because of their socialization and group playtime methods. Our chubs isn't much of a player (thinks toys are silly) but being in the supervised group setting throughout the day is great for her. I was going out of town and wouldn't be back until late so I made reservation for my 7 month old puppy to spend the night. I talked with them extensively on the phone and was encouraged by the references to lots of time socializing with other dogs his own suite and a pampered experience. Since this was to be his first experience away from me I was willing to pay the 135.00. They explained that because he was new there would be an evaluation charge and based on the evaluation they would decide what his interaction with other pets would be. I found that reasonable and wasn't concerned because he spends a lot of time daily with other dogs and they get along perfectly. The morning I went to drop off at 7:30 the person bringing pets in was really frazzled. I handed her the paperwork and told her his name and that he would be staying over and she looked at me and said WHAT? HE IS OVER NIGHT TODAY???? I told her that the person I spoke with said it wouldn't be a problem. She said it's not a problem I wasn't expecting it is all. She continued to get paperwork together and was slamming stuff around. I said you say it's not a problem but your body language tells me it's a problem. They took my dog back and we continued rushing through paperwork. At one point she said you realize that because he is mastiff pit mix he won't be around other dogs right? I thought that was part of the evaluation but she was saying just across the board regardless of evaluation because he has some pit he would be excluded. She then explained that because of his happiness and excitement at being at such an awesome place I should expect to have to feed him more at home because he would lose weight. I could take him to a regular kennel if I wanted him crated all day. I finished paperwork and paid and went to my car but something about her affect didn't sit right with me. I went back in and asked to see where my dog was right now. I told her not to call someone or alert anyone we were coming back, take me to my dog this minute and based on what I find when I get there I will decide if I want to leave him here. She said ok and immediately walked to the kennel area with me following her. The second I saw my poor puppy I decided he wasn't staying there. The kennel area is in a warehouse with non existent acoustics. The sound level of all the dogs barking was equal to a jet engine, I was standing right beside her and couldn't hear her. The suites are plexiglass kennels all fogged up due to poor ventilation. I took my dog out and they refunded my money. When I left a negative facebook review the owner responded with a huge tale that didn't resemble the facts of my experience and referenced a vicious attack on one of their workers as the justification for judging dogs based on breed. I wouldn't leave my ex husband in their care...don't fall for the resort line of bullshit ... make a surprise unannounced visit and judge for yourself. read more

I am a bit puzzled by some of these reviews. I have a very high energy one-year-old Labrador Retriever, and finding Stay Pet Resort was a lifesaver for us. She practically runs in the door when she knows we are at Stay, and doesn't seem to want to leave when I pick her up. And the best benefit is how soundly she sleeps on nights she's had doggy daycare. We've also boarded her, and been very happy with the results. I can't recommend this place highly enough! The staff have always been kind and wonderful, and knew her name from the very start. Love that their paperwork helps them get to know the dogs and their personalities early. My dog also get training at stay from Lindsey of Positively Dogs, and the change has been amazing. This place is amazing and my dog comes home exhausted everyday. My first experience with them was when I just arrived to MD and needed to do something with my dog as she couldn't stay in the hotel by herself. Stay was very accommodating in the way that they let me bring her in for an evaluation on a day they typically don't and they continue to make every effort to work with any situation that I may have. My dog has been going here for a total of 6 months and I literally bring her every day even on the weekends and on a few occasions she's stayed over night. The staff really do love pets and it shows, when I first started dropping off my dog the staff knew her name right away and would greet her good morning as she would run up to them to get belly rubs. I've read another Yelper who complained about the long process to get your dog in or all the required documents, but I personally have no issues providing any proof of shots or need to get flu vaccine as I appreciate that they take so much care and detail to ensure every dog accepted is safe and up to date so that every other dog isn't exposed to anything harmful. That to me is shows that they care about the well being for our pets. Overall I couldn't be happier with Stay and love the service they provide and never experienced any negative staff members even when I make last minute requests due to last minute work conflicts. They have been nothing but helpful and that makes it easy for me to drop off my dog knowing she's in good hands. read more

Moving to Maryland was quite a shock to our California boy Snickers. He's a lovable French Bulldog who has become a custom to the very pet friendly state. We've had terrible experiences with doggie daycare/boarding in Maryland, but after meeting the wonderful staff and owner Jodi I knew he would love it here. Dogs are totally spoiled here, with huge play spaces, beds, lots of outside time (weather permitting) and a day full of romping around. Snickers comes home happy and exhausted. I started taking my golden retriever Pippa to STAY a few months ago and try my best to bring her in once a week. Pippa isn't the biggest fan of riding in cars but once she figures out where she is her tail starts going a mile a minute (this is a good sign since this tells you she likes the place). I have no concerns with leaving her there for the day because I know the staff takes excellent care of my baby. The good thing about taking her to daycare isn't just letting Pippa socialize with other dogs and run around but once I bring her home it's pretty much lights out for her. Today was the first time I used their grooming services. I refuse to take my dog to PetSmart for the simple fact I think they are way overpriced. My usual groomers isn't too far from STAY but I figured why not kill two birds with one stone, let Pippa have a fun daycare day and also get nice and cleaned. When I picked her up for the day I was very pleased with the job they did. She looked like a new dog! When I went to pay I thought the cost of grooming was very reasonable ($65) and the lady at the front desk only charged me for a half day of daycare since a majority of her time was spent getting groomed (unexpected surprise). I definitely will use the grooming service again and recommend it to all other STAY guests. read more

We brought my dog Murphy here for day care. After about 3 times bringing him they let me know he could jump their play yard fences and would monitor him closely so he wouldn't jump the fences. The 4th time I brought him for day care I picked him up and he was limping badly. None of the staff said anything to me about it and I noticed it walking to the car. I turned around and brought him back inside to inquire what had happened to him. None of the staff would tell me what had happened. He was in so much pain we had to bring him to the pet ER that night. Come to find out he broke part of his front paw. I emailed the staff at Stay to figure out how this had happened on their watch and no one knew. The manager claims to have reviewed the footage from the day he was there and states that he was not limping until I picked him up. She says that he jumps a fence and they brought him into one of the kennels to rest and he comes out limping. Regardless of how it happened, I am disappointed with how Stay Pet Resort staff managed the situation. The one thing Stay Pet Staff offered was to reimburse us for the daycare package we had purchased after posting our reviews on Facebook and Google. Over $1,000 of vet bills later and he still has a splint on his paw for at least 3 more weeks. They make you sign a waiver saying they cannot be held liable for injuries. Review the contract carefully and think twice before signing or ever bringing your pet here for day care or boarding services. Very disappointed and would not ever recommend. read more

Caveat* my dogs did not STAY here... We intended them to but listened to the little voice in the back of our heads (usually called your better judgment) that said not to. Stay is really convenient being so close to BWI which was how we found it in the first place. We called to get our dogs enrolled and their on-boarding process is ridiculous and lengthy. First you have to fill out the enrollment paperwork and provide the dogs shot records, and then Stay calls your vet to verify the accuracy and validity of the shot records. Make sure to bring copies because they don't have a copier or scanner... Then once that's taken care of they call you to make an appointment for your dog to be evaluated - you drop your dog off for the evaluation between specific times, like 7 am I think our time was... I believe there might be a charge for the evaluation as well. Additionally, they require a dog flu vaccine which I am opposed to, my dogs get enough shots annually without having to add a useless flu vaccine. Then on a different day, once your dog is qualified, it can stay at STAY. Why we didn't STAY.... The smell - granted it's a kennel but it should not smell. In the year I've owned my dog and have taken her to over 8 different boarding places, none have smelled and should not smell, not if the air is being filtered well and the surfaces are aseptically cleaned frequently. Second, we could see some dogs in the play pens and they looked positively bored. There was nothing for them to do, they weren't playing with each other, nothing for them to lay on, no trainers playing with them - they were just standing there barking at the air. Third, the girl at the front desk had the worst possible attitude - she had this false sense of superiority like she was the hostess at the hottest restaurant in town turning down guests on a 6 month long wait list... but unlike the hottest restaurant in town, her job should have been trying to get dogs to come and stay, not jump through hoops (unless they were in an agility class). We ended up boarding our dogs at Dogtopia in Catonsville by the way... read more

Disclaimer: I was a veterinary technician for close to a decade and am ungodly protective of our two dogs. That being said, Stay does NOTHING that is not for the best for your dog in its evaluation process and vaccine requirements. You can be against vaccines all you want, but don't expect your dog to be boarded anywhere legitimate as no legitimate place will accept unvaccinated dogs. The newest concern is canine parainfluenza ("flu") and the vaccine is newer. That does not mean it is bad nor does it mean that it should not be required. It means that Stay is keeping up with current veterinary recommendations by requiring the vaccine. Okay. Onward to the review. I am a freak to please regarding my dogs. They are our babies. I am new to this area and previously went through 3 daycares in our old area before settling on one. Luckily, I chose to see Stay before other daycares and was quite happy with what I saw, happy enough to choose the place as our dogs caregiver. I called ahead to tour the facilities and on the scheduled day the employee gave me a 30 minute tour showing me the yards, the outdoor yards, the kennel area, the grooming area, and boarding/overnight suites. I got the paperwork and scheduled an evaluation day for my husky. The evaluation process requires a couple of forms to be filled out in an effort for them to get to know your dog. Veterinary paperwork is also required but since my dogs are current on everything they didn't make any phone calls to their veterinary clinic (as mentioned in a previous review, in which the person also complained about vaccine requirements so I am betting the dog wasn't up to date on everything). An evaluation day is a little more expensive than normal daycare.Yes, this is annoying and not really warranted as your pet is playing with the others and the caregivers would be there anyway but oh well. I think the paperwork took me 10 minutes, max, so I don't find that burdensome to complete. On evaluation day you will sit with an employee and discuss your pet for a few minutes so that they get a good idea of personality and behavior. I would be more concerned if they didn't do these things. The dogs are separated into the traditional small and big dog areas. The warehouse structure is huge (and climate controlled and very clean) and separated into various "yards" with high fencing that separate the two groups. Sure, there is barking. Who is upset with barking?! If your dog stresses out over barking they probably aren't right for daycare. It isn't any louder than a dog park. The big dog yard is attached to an outside yard that always has caretakers with the dogs. Owning a Siberian Husky who is quite active I know that this is great for an active breed as they can frolic and cool off outside or lounge inside in the yard. Both yards have beds or things for the dogs to chill on if they get worn out. The dogs get placed in a plexi-glass kennel for about an hour to rest and eat lunch. Granted, I would not have chosen plexi over other types of kennel doors. It is freaky to see dogs behind plexi glass. They have open tops (remember people, heat rises) so the dogs are totally fine and in there a very small amount of time so that they can eat, rest, and probably so employees can do the same and clean yards and whatnot. There were Kurunda beds in the kennels the day I took the tour. Dogs weren't just lying on the floor. My husky and Pug are extremely happy and worn out when we pick them up from Stay. That is all that matters to us. The dogs that surround them have been temperament tested and vaccinated and the employees seem very happy to see their clients. We have not boarded our pets here, only use the daycare. I am a grad student and my husband is a soldier and we cannot justify the costs of here versus other boarding facilities but once I am done with school I would happily leave our pups overnight. read more

I have taken my little guy Shorty here twice. Once for boarding and the second time for grooming. The staff is always so pleasant and they get so excited to see my little fella. The feeling is mutual. Shorty never wants to leave. Today was Ruby's first day at STAY. Every single person we met was pleasant and knowledgeable. Ruby was evaluated and we toured the facility. It smelled fresh, was clean and was nice and cool inside. They took a lot of time to show me where Ruby would spend her day, her schedule and the boarding options (amazing! Btw). I felt comfortable leaving her and when it was time to go home she wasn't quite ready which was a great sign! I'm so happy that a client of mine referred me to Stay & I look forward to many years of business with them. read more

I came at 1 PM to tour the facility as the web site says that is the time frame. When I arrived, the front desk person sent me away telling me they don't to tours until 2 PM. She wasn't very pleasant or accommodating and didn't seem to care that their web site was inaccurate. I wasn't rude about it, but wanted her to be aware. When I came back at 2 PM, I met the rest of the staff. The staff was very nice and I even met the owner. It seems her heart is really in this business. I think her intentions are good. I toured the facility, though, and had some concerns about the daycare. It didn't seem they were truly well-supervised. They verbally told me they were supervised and had no more than 10 dogs to one person but while there, I observed differently. This affected my trust with them and I just didn't feel comfortable leaving my dog there for the daycare. I asked several questions because my dog was hurt at another daycare. I know dogs will be dogs, but I definitely had some specific concerns that unfortunately, she didn't assuage me of when asked. The facility is beautiful and perhaps, with time, she will improve some of these areas. I wouldn't rule them out, entirely, in the future. The jury is still out for me, though. read more

Their customer service is lacking in a few areas. The are very sarcastic and I felt racist people. I felt discriminated against by them on more than one occasion. When bringing an issue to their attention be prepared to be patronized rather than receive any sincerity. Their prices are high as well no matter what you're getting it's always the same price even if you are getting less than the last time. While it's a cute concept. If you want to be respected and treated like a person I don't recommend them there are too many other places to go. read more

Don't really think they fed my dog much. Had him checked out, he did not have worms. But lost allot of weight there. Was told a bath was included in my package. Needless to say. He was never washed. I wonder if I got anything I paid for. Was recommend by my neighbor. But she doesn't take her dogs there anymore either. Our first day there should have given us a hint of what was to come. Staff member was rude to a customer while we were waiting for a tour of the facility. We paid it no mind. It was Saturday, my only day off. We just wanted together in and out. Our mistake. Our dog is like our child. If I saw that in a daycare. I would not have left my kid there. But you live and learn. read more

This facility is top of the line. Professional, yet personable. Our dog Stays in daycare occassionally and we are very comfortable adding an overnight or two as needed. Incredibly prompt responding via email to set up overnight accomodations. We have recommended Stay to many people. read more

Our dog is super happy at Stay and we're pleased with their service as well. Lily goes to Stay 2x/week for day care and is always excited to arrive and sad to leave. The staff are friendly and the check in/out process always goes smoothly. The facility is clean and inviting. Another reviewer complained about the smell, but I have always been impressed by how little it smells. I have recommended Stay to friends and family. Completely Dissappointed. This boarding facility was recommended by my trainer. I was told several different things by multiple employees, as far as group play. I feel like everyone is not on the same page. Do not get me wrong it is a clean facility. But for a rambunctious young puppy it was not the right facility for us. The main issue was that my pet is not fixed. So besides her potty breaks she would not be allowed to socialize with other pets (which was the opposite of what we were originally told). Then I was told because of this, she was not a candidate for day care at all (boarding only) I was kind of OK with that, but not really what we were looking for as I was hoping for a daycare for emergencies. I was also told if my pet went into heat I would have to come get her (Which we would be out of state so that would be impossible) So then - after asking for a refund - and getting one rather quickly I was recommended to another facility. Where in bold print on their website it simply states if your pet is over 6 months they must be fixed to attend boarding or day care. I think the web site needs to be updated (as these specifications to being fixed or not were not listed on the web site for STAY). I think everyone should be on the same page - new rules or not. Especially seeing how we started over two months ago to set everything up. Also we were already heartbroken to go back to square one to look for a sitter but then to have a facility recommended that would not take her at all was kind of a slap in the face. I would defintely recommend this facility to anyone whose pet is fixed but if they are not fixed I would keep looking. read more

We LOVE Stay!!! We have taken Pedro (our 2 year old, 100lb pit/mastiff mix) to other boarding facilities in the area and haven't had great experiences, from too many dogs to snobby attitudes from the staff. The first day at STAY I knew it would be wonderful! Everyone that works there was so sweet and helpful and actually got to know Pedro by the time he left! The facility is pristine and has such a warm vibe. The prices are the lowest I have seen around for the quality! I never ever worry about leaving Pedro with them because I know he will be absolutely spoiled and come home exhausted : ) read more
