Ollie's been going here a few months. So far so good. ( He's been to daycares all of his 9 years.) He always seems happy to go inside, pulling at his leash as we walk in there. He was boarded one night and seemed fine the next day. Very tired. He's 9. We plan on taking him there as often as possible. read more

I never worry about my dog while I'm away. Communication is excellent. My pup absolutely loves it there, so I know he is treated well. They are adding cameras for viewing, but I don't feel it's necessary. They do a great job watching him, so I don't have to. We have been going there for 5 years. read more

Stay & Play Pet Getaway - Holiday photos of fur babies. - Pet Sitting Near Me - Hernando, Florida

We got a mini-dachshund in January and have used Stay and Play based on a friend referral. We couldn't be more pleased. Ellie gets very excited and happy to see the staff. She gets a mani-pedi with her bath and smells so good and is very shiny when we pick her up. read more

We have boarded 3 different dogs here over the years. All 3 loved going to Stay & Play! They literally jump out of the car, and pull on the leash to get inside. The staff has always been professional, caring, and concerned with the dogs' welfare. Our current dog has several meds she has to take every day, and this has always been handled by the instructions. The dogs always come home happy and exhausted. It's great to be able to leave town knowing your dog is going to be well taken care of. Highly recommend Stay & Play! read more

My Minnie loves her playtime. She had the best 1st birthday party there. I never have to worry when she is boarding there. They treat her so well. Highly recommend for your furbabies. read more

Max was very excited to go play. They were very friendly and answered all our questions.

My dogs had not ever been at a kennel for boarding, so I was concerned. That concern went away after our first stay! My pups were happy and I think they enjoyed the stay. Our Yorkie played with new friends and our Chihuahua basically did his thing. I would recommend Stay and Play. On a side note, our truck broke down when we picked our pups up, and the staff came out to see if they could help. Totally unexpected! read more

Well, to be honest and fair, there are specific pros and cons in my review. All in all though, after all things tallied, in my opinion, would be five stars. Unless I'm missing it, wish they'd offer an incentive for repeat customers, or a loyalty or referral program or periodic coupons online, or for e-mail retention of their existing customers, repeat customers; to offer after a certain number of prior paid-for daycare or boarding night stays, what they decide to be equivalent to in their incentive, something free or discounted because of how non-economical their prices are. However, it is worth paying the extra because if you can afford it; this is the best place regionally to board your pet. Stay & Play requires that all dogs provide proof of shots up to date etc., and work with their customers in various areas as long as the communication is transparent. Interestingly, for me, there were two other boarding places that were half the price of Stay & Play. They were local enough about equal distance apart considering that I could board my pet when needed-as well as day care; one of which my dog had the weirdest vibe and angst, so we left. Another time I tried again at that very place (which I prefer not to name at this point because this was my experience and I can't speak for others regarding that place) I had to pick up my dog the same day because he clawed profusely to get out of his dog den so much that his middle claw in his right paw was bleeding! Interestingly, I was the one who called at random to see how he was doing and then that's when they told me what was going on so I picked him up! This particular place offered restitution and an incentive to come back, but of course I wouldn't do that and haven't since. The second place I came upon was also about half the price too; the people were very nice and gave me a tour of the place, which was somewhat reassuring. Additionally, this particular place was closer. I started to plan to go there because it was much more affordable. However, they told me they cannot interact with the dogs as much, nor let them interact and play with other dogs because, as they explained why, is because they hadn't ever had enough staff to do that. Deal-breaker? Well.. ON THE CONTRARY and LASTLY-every time that I took my dog to Stay & Play, my dog whined with excitement to get out the car and go in before we even pulled into the parking lot. He's not done so at the first place I've spoke about earlier on both occasions. Trusting your pets vibes at any place over your wallet is important. As hard as it is to board an animal for any length of time, perhaps the angst is shared by both the owner as well as their pet. Fortunately, the owners and staff at Stay & Play Doggie Day Care has figured out how to best ease any anxiety of both the pet and owners. There is one place I had stumbled upon however, that is somewhat comparable to their pricing, but they have a person on staff at the place for 24 hours which for me, was ideal. What they lacked seemed to be a good location and a noticeable, consistent and considerable lack of ("animal") clientele. As I've mentioned, if only Stay & Play could have tiered pricing, occasional coupons, incentives, loyalty program or somewhat be structured in such a way that more people who need this could afford multiple times in the year if needed; they perhaps would be making more revenue. Apparently they don't need it because obviously they are aware of competitor prices despite continuing to raise theirs; so then enough people must be paying the double amount for their premium services. This place, Stay & Play Pet Getaway, for me is a defendant 5 star. The owners, staff, adequate spacing etc. is all 5 star. However, their pricing is not. (Just FYI- I've met one very nice employee that had left Stay & Play, although coming there when incentivized to leave a competitor, had then left Stay & Play- very unhappy there.) I don't know the back story so that is all I can speak on that dismal happenstance. So in my opinion, it is clear. For a business to provide premium services; customers will have to pay premium prices to receive such services. I get that. Understandably, there's obviously higher costs associated with this. The overhead, trained staff, insurance costs, etc. and all, but perhaps If there were more quality boarding competitors, vicinity wise-, having space enough and staff that are staunch "talented" animal lovers who could perform as well as this place, then there really should be. There is both a need and a market for it. Again, to offer as a suggestion, after lavishing them with deserving praise, the only things missing most with this company is, unless I'm missing something, would be in lieu of "incentivizing something free" whether its so many washings & nail clippings, boarding nights or whatnot, that would "re-thank" customers for their business. "Six stars-less one." :) read more

Stay & Play Pet Getaway - Bandana given to dog after getting bath. - Pet Sitting Near Me - Hernando, Florida

They treat our dogs like family. Usually can get in same day. Our dogs look forward to going.

This is a great place with such fantastic staff. My Boxer puppy would be hard to handle without this place. He LOVES to play with all the other dogs and comes home happy and exhausted which is exactly what a 10 month old puppy needs. When we are pulling into the parking lot, his excitement and joy are apparent. Before we are out of the parking lot when leaving, he is stretched out and almost asleep. We both enjoy ALL this place has to offer. read more

Stay & Play Pet Getaway - Valentine's Day @Staynplay - Pet Sitting Near Me - Hernando, Florida

Chloe is great. Brianna is a sweetheart. They took great care of our pets and cared for them so well. They came home healthy and happy. We used to use Miss Kate's Bed and Biscuit, but they don't have weekend pickups. Silly. This place is more customer service oriented, and we are so pleased to have our pets back looking well and delighted with their stay! read more

We've been bringing our 11 year old dog to Stay and Play Pet Getaway for grooming, daycare, and boarding for the last 2 years. She loves being there and the staff is very attentive and gives excellent care to our senior dog. read more

This used to be a great place but I think they've become too greedy and don't take care of your pet they way they should. My dogs were not supposed to be out with any other dogs and they would tell me when I picked them up how they had a great time playing with other dogs of the same breed. Not mention one of my dogs came back with a leg injury twice. Their prices have went up substantially and the dog room has grown but not the play area. The family discount has decreased and service has declined. Sad, they used to be the best. I travel a lot so it's very important to me my dogs receive excellent care. The new place is exceeded my expectations so far. Maybe this review will help this place get back to their roots and put the dogs first instead of the almighty dollar. read more

My puppy just loves his time at Stay and Play doggie daycare. I will not hesitate at all to board him when I need to leave town for a couple of days. Every single employee that I've interacted with has been so nice and helpful and it's obvious to me they love the dogs. read more

I have mixed feeling about this place. One the good side the two dogs I drop off there always seem to be in good spirits when I pick them up. The staff seems nice and friendly and the place always seems clean. On the negative side I have been given false information by their staff as to what their hours are. They have a policy that if you pick up your overnight drop off by noon there is no extra charge. But if you need another 10 or 20 minutes just because stuff happens, there is no give and they will charge you for a full day. So you get there by 12:00 noon to pick up your animal(s) and there is NEVER enough staff to accomodate the rush. This facility did not open just last week, they've been there awhile. You would think they could anticpate this noon rush and have the staff there to accomodate the rush - but that simply doesnt happen. Plan to wait. I am use to bringing my great dane to a place in tampa for 18 bucks a night, this place is 80 for two dogs. My, my have times changed. read more

Since my original post, Stay & Play has updated their pricing structure. The prices have increased slightly, but the staff has continued to invest in their facilities to ensure that the guests have an enjoyable stay. The entire back yard (outdoor play area) has been redone. The owners layered the ground with professional grade astroturf, decorative pavers and built a new deck with bone shaped pool that the pets can use to cool off during the summer months. read more

The best place ever! My two bulldogs would rather stay than come home. Let me rephrase that they would rather stay home ( there) then come with me to the house they were raised in! That speaks volumes!! read more

This is a great place for dogs. My boy Jake is always so happy to get there. I take him for daycare a couple times a week and I often board him there. I recommend it highly and cannot say enough about the staff and their dedication to the dogs and cats who frequent the business. read more

Took my pup in to get a mani/pedi, the girls that work here are great! My dog was extremely nervous due to a bad experience with the last place I took her to and everyone was so patient and good with her! read more

Has taken me months to do this but felt that others should be aware of how maybe not all dogs but how my dog was treated. I kenneled my dog for around 5 days and requested a bath/nails prior to pickup. When I got there the staff acted weird and when they brought my dog out he looked terrified and just wanted out of there. When I got to my car I saw why, heartbreaking that they butchered his nails like they did. Proof is in the pictures! I almost reported them for animal read more
