We travel in a motorhome with two white cats, Gamma and Beta. They are both outdoor cats, with…read moretheir own access in and out of our motor home. They travel well, often disappearing for hours at a time but always returning to the motor home regardless of where we are. We've been traveling with them for three years now. Unfortunately, where we are staying here in Florida they seem to be picking up fleas despite wearing flea collars and receiving regular treatments. The short haired cat 'Beta' is no problem, he loves to be combed and brushed and generally fussed with. Gamma on the other hand is long haired and can be a challenge because he does not like to be brushed or combed at all. His fur is very dense and tends to pick up dirt and get matted. So, to combat this we decided to have Gamma's long hair cut. Gamma will tend to be difficult once he decides he does not want attention. We didn't want him necessarily completely shaved, ideally leaving him with some fur, maybe a quarter inch or so. Yet we know that trying to cut an objecting cat's hair down to a level like that and not having it come out choppy, is a tall order. We had his fur trimmed once before in a different place and he came away very stressed. Perfect Paws did an awesome job with a very cranky cat. He was not stressed at all; his fur was cut just right. I consider myself a bit of a cat expert, yet the owner gave me a couple of tips in handling him that I had not previously considered. She clearly knows her stuff when it comes to dealing with cranky cats.

We had already worked with Doggy Bubbles for years, but over the past 2 years the groomers changed…read moreall the time and the new ones kept making "errors" in grooming our dogs. Just wanted to try someone new to see if we can get a more consistent grooming experience. Also, our dogs have been at their grooming place for as much as 6 hours, even though we drop them off at 10 or 10:30, depending. They can't go that long without a bathroom stop. They don't go there but as soon as they're out the door, they go and go and go. Then, they are out of it for the rest of the day. Love Jill but we can't do this to our dogs until there's some consistency with the groomers. Just in response to Jill, we have never had fewer than 2 dogs and usually have had three, and they never took so long before the last few times. At times, each was done by a different groomer but since there have only been two there the last few times, at least that we saw, obviously that was a problem. Also, even though they are Cavaliers, two of them have scant coats so we don't consider them long-haired as they rarely need cutting every time except around paws. The dogs peed and peed when they left the grooming, more than they usually do and drank tons of water when they got home so I can't see how they were walked while there or got enough water as I can only go with their behavior when we picked them up.

He was looking (and smelling) a little rough, so I did some quick research and found the Prancing Puppy Pet Salon. They were phenomenal. Their online booking system was one of the easiest I've used in a long time. It only took a few minutes to secure an appointment. When we arrived, the front desk was empty, which made things a bit awkward. All the groomers turned to look at me, waiting for me to explain why I was there... which I did, of course, but it felt a little unclear. That said, Roslyn, our pup's groomer, was wonderful. She was super friendly and did a great job! Our pup was ready for pick-up in just an hour. It was a night and day difference by the time we got him. The only downside was the lack of pricing transparency. Prices weren't listed on their website or during the online booking process. Not a big deal, but would love for them to change that.
