This is my Doctors ! I've been coming here since i can…read moreremember and its changed a bit, but one thing that hasn't changed is how easy it is to get an appointment. There a 3 practices based here and as long as you can pick up the phone at 0830 in the morning you can get an appointment. My practice has 4 doctors and everyone of them are great. Ive been in with embarrassing issues and its great that you can have a laugh with your doctor about it. They talk to you as if they know you on a personal basis which always seems to ease you.

It even opened a walk-in-centre so you could visit here instead of A&E pending the seriousness of the situation. So while this is not my doctors, it is my partners and my daughters. You never seem to be able to ring up and get an appointment that day (even if you ring first thing in the morning). I won't name the doctor but we have felt at times that the doctor just wants you in and out and fobs you off with "its viral". The walk-in-centre is pot luck if its busy or not (i'm guessing like most walk-in-centres) but we have had nightmare times were we have had to wait over 3 hours to be seen and then the on duty nurse or doctor has missed stuff like ear infections and such. Then they closed down the walk-in-centre after about 10 months and had it open 8am-8pm and you had to then go to a "Go-to-Doc" (situated in the same building) were you had to ring up and make an appointment if it was out of hours and go through a telephone grilling just to see if it was worth you bringing yourself in. The Car Park is free to users of the centre but always seems to break down thus giving the shoppers of oldham free parking. A plus is that this is Oldham so there is security in the building so that does make you feel kinda safe.

Avoid this place. They discharged me in 2022 with septic arthritis (Staph Aureus infection) in my…read moreleft shoulder and arm. This spread into my spine & right side. They eventually admitted me, operated and gave me 6 weeks IV antibiotics and discharged me for a second time with the infection still in my spine. They took 6 weeks to arrange a scan and recall me. They then failed to start IV antibiotics for a further 9 days, until I asked a different hospital to take over my care. I've been left with significant injuries to my upper body and right knee. Tameside Hospital have purposefully altered my records to hide their negligence - repeatedly! All the evidence is available, yet Tameside continue to refuse to meaningfully engage, to enable these to be corrected.

No hospital is perfect we all know that but Tameside in particular gets a beating in the newspapers and on the news. MRSA and C Dif have been topics of concern and also waiting times etc etc. So take it from a girl who works in the accident and emergency part, we all work hard. It is a hard job and i understand that people do not want to be there. We are helpful and we have millions of thank you cards, but I guess that part gets missed out. Anyway it is a lot better than it use to be. Massive improvements are being made right now and are ongoing. New buildings are being made, A new A&E is being built, new everything. Yes, it was in need of a update but the service is just as good as anywhere else! Its clean despite what you may think.
