This was my doctor's surgery all my life before moving out of the area. Unfortunately (for us, not him!) the family doctor retired from here a few years back, and I haven't really found a suitable replacement. I suppose that will happen if you're a non-hypocohondriac and therefore don't really get the chance to build the same rapport with another.
You need to call early for an appointment - they are always full to capacity. And it is sensible to set off early to secure a parking space. Within the last couple of years, the pharmacy inside has become a Boots branch and they have introduced a computerised check-in system. The waiting room has always been a fairly pleasant place, with obvious care and attention put into the noticeboards around the edges. Who said you need magazines for interesting reading material?
