This review is long overdue. I took my Focus RS to get some performance mods done back in June and it was a wonderful experience. Sergio was super friendly and very informative from the moment I called him. A few days after I picked up the car, Kevin sent me some nice photos of the work being done to the vehicle which was really cool to see. This place is ran by some fantastic people! If you need your car to be prepped for a track day, Sergio will take care of all your needs.

The Status Auto team got my BMW M2 dialed in for track days with the installation of an upgraded intercooler, stainless steel brake lines, Akrapovic exhaust, camber plates, racing pads and suspension adjustment, alignment and corner balance. They are extremely knowledgeable about high performance cars and super nice people to boot. They even discovered an installation error on a suspension part that was installed by the dealership and fixed it for free! Highly recommended.

Tran's Auto Repair

Almost never leave reviews, but for a uniquely honest auto shop (rare these days)--I try to make…read morethe time. Went in for an oil change at the local Honda dealership and they recommended I change the steering rack on my car. The estimate was $4k+. Called several different shops to get quotes. Saw Tran's Auto Repair and read through some reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. Not only did Sy take his time to check on an estimate for me--which was very reasonable for the work required to replace a steering rack--he also suggested I bring the car in to double check to see whether I actually need the replacement. I was able to take the car in a few days later and after checking, turns out the rack was seeping just a bit of fluid, but not a major leak (what seems common for a car with 150k miles). Recommended we don't change it now and continue to check on it every oil change until it becomes an actual leak (if that ever happens). That recommendation checks out with how the car drives. Before my visit to the dealership I didn't notice any major issues with the steering--the car seemed to still have firm, controlled steering even at highway speeds. Mind you, I understand the business nature of auto shops. It is advantageous to recommend and do work on vehicles. But the fact that Tran's recommended not to get the steering rack replaced right now should speak to how honest they are with their customers (even a new one). I'll be back, and would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of service/repairs.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The owner is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable,…read moreand efficient, which honestly makes the whole experience stress-free. I always call ahead to check the wait time, and he's been super upfront and accommodating every time. On top of that, this is hands down the most reasonably priced mechanic in the area without sacrificing quality. There is a waiting space, it's a bit dated and nothing fancy, but that's not why you come here. You come for honest work, fair pricing, and solid results. I'd come back a million times over for the quality and price alone. Highly recommend if you want someone who knows what they're doing and won't overcharge you.

I called late at night and Cesar responded within minutes and we got it scheduled the next morning. He was also giving me live text updates. I called around so many shops and the avg price was $120 - $250. I even had the option to get a new tire, so they seem to have everything on hand, and the tow and new tire would've cost $270! Super inexpensive. I would def come back here again. My tires were perfect.

Predatory towing!!! My car was towed from parking area at a…read morelot where I was shopping. When I tried to get it back by calling the number provided on the sign a very rude girl answered. She proceeded to act like she was a police officer including demanding to speak with shop owners. She insisted the tow company asked each of the shop owners if that was a customer car before towing it however if that's the case of the 3 shops at the lot, than why would they need to ask all 3 unless no one acctually reported the car and they specificly target that small lot hoping to see a car they can potentially tow for a quick money grab . Which is exactly what one of the shop employees revealed when he was speaking to me after this situation happened and I was trying to get an address of the tow yard. And I witnessed it as I was at the lot waiting to get the information the same towing company truck came back to the lot and circled it with in a short time frame ( when at that point I was there and talking to all 3 shops owners/employees so I know they were not contacted and were simply doing tow rounds to see if any cars had been there since they last circled). Hence predatory towing!!! This way they can then go to each of the 3 shops and ask if that's a customer's car however obviously the shop owners won't know which customer owns which car so they quickly tow it and basically get a cash grab .... The little girl on the phone service refused to accept the employees account over the my phone when she asked to speak with them and they verified i was a customer and had been in the store. She proceeded then to question them aggressively about times and reciepts for purchases ( this was a Chinese gentleman who was getting very uncomfortable whith the way she was battering him with her questioning and aggressive stlye. He simply explained i was I had indeed used his store he wasn't sure of the exact time and she continued to battered him about the exact time until he finally gave me the phone back and said I gave her the correct information she asked for but I dont know exact time. She acted like she was the police questioning a criminal when she obviously isn't and was extremely unprofessional poorly trained... it took 5 times of calling the auto get her to revealed the address as she kept letting it go to voice mail ( which is in fact illegal in a private tow posted phone number) There's supposed to be a 24 hour pay by phone number listed. SHE would not accept the shop owners account that I was indeed there. She then said I would need to go to the address of the towed vehicle at 930 Pm even though it was over an hour from that time . When I arrived in a Uber I tried calling the number to make sure there would be someone coming and agian voice mail... I arrive at 915 so at 930 when no one showed up and I was stuck in a very dark and isolated areas alone I called the police number. They were finally able to reach her through there number and she said someone was on the way. I explained this was dangerous for me to be standing in such an isolated place latest night alone female and her person meeting me was still not there and late at this point and her response was don't worry nothing going to happen there and she hung up on me ... They tow guy finally arrived over 20 minutes late. I did have a written statement I gathered from the shop owners that I was indeed at the shops signed by them and I do have an ATM reciept also time stamped from the ATM machine in the market. When I asked for my itemized invoice from the employee that charged my card 680.00 and released the car and happened to be the guy who towed it in the first place and his name which they are legally supposed to provide along with a customer rights document he didn't provide any of that and would not answer me when I asked what time he towed this car and who indicated this tow in the fist place. HE ONLY provided me a receipt for my payment made under duress and a company card with only bussiness name and number on it ( NOTHING ELSE).This too is illegal and falls under Predatory and wrongful towing practices. I DID try to call the original signage phone number when I arrived home this time same girl answerd I explained it wanted the itemized tow invoice and I asked her the time my vehicle was towed she asked for my license plate number and agreed that I should have received that information and she would send it to me in a pdf however before I could give it to her she yet again hung up on me after I asked what time they in fact towed me ( obviously not with on the one hour rule ) Agian Predatory towing! THIS company is completely unprofessional and untrained in proper private property towing laws of San Mateo County! They should be investigated throughly. THEY have figured out a way to illegally tow people's vehicles and basically strong arm you into paying for the exorbitant rate to get your car back . EVEN when wrongful tow!!!!!

In fact, I came in once saying I needed a very expensive repair and they fixed it for a fraction of what I suggested. Then Dennis retired, and I believe the ownership changed hands. I bring my wife's car in last year and they said the cooling fan was the cause of overheating. I said the dealer just replaced that 3 months earlier on a recall. They insist it's bad. So they replace the new fan for a grand and I notice they kept the car for another day "for testing." When I get it home I notice there is a coolant sensor on the invoice. I'm confident they misdiagnosed the problem as the $800 fan and THEN figured out it was the $50 sensor. That's some shady shit. Of course they couldn't provide me with the bad fan so I could take it tot he dealer. In California, not returning parts is against the law. Now I need ABS work and I call and all I get is "Hello?" Like I called someone's house. I ask if this is M&R and I get "Yeah." Not what can I do for you, how can I help, just a vibe that says why are you bothering me. I start telling my problem and he says very shortly, "I can't get you in for two weeks." I'm glad they're busy, because they won't be getting my business anymore.
