We arrived in Albuquerque with engine oil all over our towed vehicle and the back of our coach! After several panicked calls to the local Freightliner dealer and others, I was referred to Statkus Service. After speaking to Jim Statkus and explaining my issues/concerns, Jim travelled to my location for an onsite inspection. Based upon his expertise, we determined that the coach had been overfilled with oil by the home base service provider. Jim contacted Wendy (his daughter that is really the Boss!) and they got us into their shop to perform an oil change along with a complete chassis lube that was not performed by the home base service provider. Jim did a great job educating me on how to deal with service providers since there are those who supposedly service class A motorhomes but do not have the facilities to do so correctly. We highly recommend Statkus Engines to anyone who needs work done on their RV or travel trailer. Statkus did exception work for us under difficult circumstances. Wendy bent over backwards to keep us informed as to the status of the work and all changes to the unexpected situation we and Statkus found ourselves in. We arranged to have Statkus Engines replace a bent axle on our travel trailer. We live out of state and had stored the trailer in Albuquerque after we realized the axle was bent. We scheduled the work several months ahead so there would be plenty of time for Statkus to order and receive the axle from Dexter. Statkus advised us they had the axle before we came back into town. We arrived in Albuquerque and delivered the trailer to Statkus on April 24, 2023. Throughout the day Wendy kept us posted on work progress, as we were also getting new tires and were serving as the tire transport from and to Statkus. Things were looking good until early afternoon. The axle sent by Dexter had the same serial number, but was clearly NOT the same axle. There was a bracket located in a different place and the diameter of the axle was NOT 3 inches. It took two days (2 days!) and multiple calls by Statkus and the dealer, NCT Industries (Ray is the parts person) for Dexter to respond. At first Dexter claimed the axle was the correct one because the serial number matched. It wasn't until photographic evidence of the difference in diameter was sent did Dexter indicate the axle was NOT the correct one. Nothing else came out of Dexter, ever. A new axle was ordered two days later, April 27, 2023. No word was received from Dexter as to when the axle would be shipped, if it had been shipped, if it need to be fabricated, nothing. Meanwhile, our trailer is taking up a work bay at Statkus. We continued to wait. Wendy continued to keep us posted. Finally, on May 2, 2023, seven days after the problem was recognized, with still no word from Dexter, we agreed to obtain an axle from a local (Albuquerque) manufacturer. Do realize this means we have no warranty as we are leaving Albuquerque. (Indeed, we were supposed to leave at April 29, 2023.) The local axle arrived on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 and our trailer was ready for us on Thursday, May 4, 2023. We can not enough good things about Wendy and Statkus Engines. read more

We were heading from California to Connecticut when we had some issues with our class A. Lucky we got a good tow guy who knew where to bring it for our issue. Statkus were honest right from the beginning. They are a family business. Father and 2 daughters who run the office. We had to leave our class A and continue on to Ct. Wendy kept in contact with me and had no issues when I called to check on the progress. Turns out our issues were big. We had to stop in Albuquerque because of a faulty repair to our Workhorse chassis Rexhall. A company in Flagstaff had replaced the fuel pump, which they thought was the problem. These folks really know what they're doing & right away knew it was the mass airflow sensor not the fuel pump. Our Rex ran fine the rest of our trip to the east coast & back to the west. Letting you know the work you done on my RV didn't work! '52 miles and dead again. This is the Class C Coachman motorhome the one with the gas trouble. I put a electric pump back by the tank and boy was I surprise all the switch over value you told me was the problem and it was removed was still there. Got a pre-purchase inspection on an RV. Many problems came up a day after buying it, that the inspection didn't reveal (well, there was a transmission leak that was fixed, then a worse leak after buying it). Hard to believe so many major problems would come up just after buying it. Would not recommend at all. They do not seem honest and try to shame (scare) you into getting unnecessary work. They quoted us an outrageous amount for work and replacements that we didn't need. Had the work done nearby, for very little, that we actually needed and have had no problems since. Even told us things had never been replaced that we have receipts and inspections for. Our cross-country RV trip could have been a disaster were it not for Statkus. They correctly diagnosed the cause of my diesel pushers overheating and efficiently repaired the problem to get us back on the road. Caterpillar had said that they couldn't even see us for 6 days. I recommend caution and getting a second opinion on most all major problems. The more simple repairs I would think could be done by most any repair shop in an acceptable manner. These folks missed that. Asked for the serpentine belt on our diesel Monoco motorhome to be changed. Also asked for a check of the front end alignment setting(s) and ride height. (Was wandering a bit while driving at road speeds). A test drive was taken, with me along, to explain driving concern. Nothing was changed with the front end or ride height. The belt was changed, which requires removing the A/C belt. The A/C belt was also changed, not asked for, and new belt was installed on wrong pulley groove on compressor, thus it was out of alignment. Fortunitely I found this while checking the coolant level and I corrected the error myself. In addition, they did not properly latch the engine bay door on rear of M/H, put the ladder back down in place and my wife found greasy finger prints on the leather dash and seats. The rig was in their shop only a few hours, not really long enough, in my opinion, to have checked the alignment specs., ride height, looked over all the front suspension, changed the belts and road tested again. The workmanship was not acceptable. The attention to details was not there. I shall not use these folks again. Be careful about choosing whom you trust your vehicle, and thus your life with. read more

Went in and they diagnosed a fuel system problem and worked on it. Got iy back and made it 23 miles before the vehicle caught fire due to a fuel leak. They refused all responsibility but the courts decided otherwise. The owner is very dishonest so protect yourself and be ready to sue. read more

I have a vintage older RV that Statkus had worked on years ago. When I took it in to have some additional work done on my baby they pretty much just snubbed me. They seem to prefer to work only on the high end RV's. Maybe they forgot that the older RV's are why they are where they are today. Front office staff was condescending, mechanic didn't seem to have time to work on a minor problem with the RV - 2 weeks later and nearly $1500 invested they released a semi decent job done.
