During the current studio challenge, I tried a number of new classes and teachers. it was fun and I more than doubled my yoga during these two weeks.

There weren't a lot of challenging poses, which made the class seamless (for me). It included a lot of stretching. Since class was on a Sunday, stretching was a perfect way to end one week and prepare for the next. Despite the lack of candles and soul music, I'd take it again. I also attended the 1/2 Price Flow on 15 Jan 2018 with Cole Bennett. I really enjoyed Cole's class. The class was crowded, so there was an overflow room. Cole was really accommodating to everyone's needs. The practice flowed well, was challenging, and the music was appropriate. It is also important to note that the woman at front desk before Cole's class was warm and welcome. It made my second evening a more pleasurable experience. The studio is located near the Wells Fargo on Carroll St NW. I think they should have a storefront sign (similar to the Petworth location) because yogis who are unfamiliar with the area can miss it. There wasn't enough space for me to put my stuff, so I resorted to the floor. The cubbies are rather limited. I'll be back to Yoga Heights soon. Namaste!

However: The place, in general, needs a sprucing up. The lobby/shop and bathroom all could use a good clean and maybe a paint job, and there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom, which kind of killed the vibe post-salt cave experience. We live in a city though and these things happen -- but a more dedicated focus to overall details of the space would make the experience even better.

It seemed there were a few snafu's that morning starting with folks that showed up for their treatments to a closed shop, and then we were told to be there 15 min before our session or it could be given away to someone on standby... so we RACED over and literally ran from the parking garage, but our session didn't start until 10:15 so we just sat around for 30 min waiting. There were lovely little tea and water glasses that said help yourself but there was no tea or water. I totally get that things happen- and we certainly were attended to- not a big deal. Everyone was very nice so what are you gonna do! We just wore yoga pants/active wear and clean socks as you can't go into the cave with shoes OR bare feet- so be sure to bring your socks! We were lucky enough to have the cave to ourselves by chance- but I may bring earplugs or an eye mask to truly zone out if we were sharing the cave next time. I wish the room was a bit more sound proof- you can really hear everything right in the lobby. It's a little distracting for a meditative session but I also understand that it's close quarters. There is ambient music playing that drowns some of it out! Otherwise the cave is really cool and you can tell it was a labor of love to build. I loved walking around on the "salt sand"! All in all I really enjoyed our experience. The owner was very nice and brings two large golden retrievers to the shop. I am a dog lover and they are VERY chill dogs- but just be aware if you're not a fan or have an allergy. We look forward to our next visit!

She is a true model of what coaching is all about. She helped me identify years worth of BS that I'd hidden from myself. I felt liberated and full of possibilities while working with Cat and highly, highly recommend her. She's non-judgmental and also willing to challenge you when you need a gentle nudge. I'm a better coach, leader and entrepreneur after having worked with Cat. She also helped me celebrate more and invest in my happiness and self-care in a way that is refreshing and sustainable. Coaching did help me figure out some of those things, but more than that I learned to accept responsibility for every aspect of my life. That wasn't easy at times and it was really great being in a supportive group watching others learn those lessons too. But what was really special about the experience was that Cat didn't just offer support and accountability for what I thought I should be working on. She challenged me to turn my attention towards things I was actively avoiding, the things I was afraid to face. Now, I finally understand that I create all of it--the good and the bad. I'm more confident about what I truly want and I know I have all the power, time and energy that I need to keep changing my life.
