They…read morecharge outrageous "transfer fees", the "gym" consists of a treadmill that shakes and shimmies if you hit 3mph, a recumbent bike and weights. It was closed during the pandemic but we still had rent increases. The only other "amenity" is a library. There are some activities for older residents (also closed during the pandemic). My current apartment was filthy when I moved in, had to clean it all myself (reported to mgmt..no one cared). The former bldg manager was a nasty woman that bullied older residents, spent more time in her car smoking than in her office, lied and misrepresented many things. She was reported multiple times...she is now at a brand new property they built about 4 miles away. We are on the 6th maintenance man since I moved in. Last one was an alcoholic druggie..."lost" a set of master keys, fell asleep at work, was drunk at work multiple times. No background checks were done. There is zero storage and nothing free. The available garages went from $150 a month to $175, "storage area" went from $50 a month to $75 a month. There used to be a waiting list here....now they have put up flags and signs advertising "now leasing". And, that former building mgr put anyone in here...because she got a bonus for a "full" building. We had multiple residents that needed to be in assisted living, not a building like this. As soon as my lease is up...I am gone. They act like this is some luxury apt building....it is far from it. Do not spend your retirement at any property owned by Clover group. DO not assist your loved ones to move here. The corporate office does not care about ANYONE.

I've lived here for almost two years and have nothing but rave reviews to share. Many amenities. Newest apartment in the area (opened in 2017). The nicest people you would have want have as neighbors. Everyone, staff included, have been so friendly. Maintenance is A-1. Anything that needs attention has been addressed the same day or the next at the latest and the maintenance people couldn't be nicer. The apartment building common areas are cleaned Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Yes, they do have a DNA system to identify dogs whose owners don't pick up after their pets. Not once have I seen pet feces anywhere.....even in the cold of winter when people sometimes don't bother. Ashby rental rates are commensurate with the surroundings you live in. I give it a 10. You won't be disappointed.

You get use the sound of the planes because it's near the airport--a plus for some, a minus for others. It's a nice neighborhood with friends people. What stands out for me is the leasing office and maintenance staff. I lived in other places where you could never reach anyone, the office staff changed frequently, and maintenance never responded. Definitely not the case here. Beth is the best manager I've ever dealt with. Always available, helpful, and courteous. Darwin, the current maintenance man, is amazing. He actually seems to like his job and responds quickly to service requests. I can't say enough good things about this place and the staff here. Another great year at Village of Amesbury.

The move in process was a breeze, working with Courtney from the front office was amazing - made sure we had everything we needed to move in smoothly. After moving in, things were still great - there is laundry on every floor, common spaces are always clean and welcoming, and packages are kept safely in the mail room (you get an email when packages arrive). The gym and office room have the basic necessities. If there there is a maintenance issue, the management team is quick to resolve it and notify you when the work order is complete. The finishes inside the apartment are all new, and the heating/cooling system works great. The one downside is that there is construction happening right outside my window in the mornings/afternoons. It also means I lost my view since the neighboring building now is taller than my floor :( Overall, I am quite happy with the apartment and recommend it!

The management office also feels that it isn't an invasion of privacy to schedule tours for prospective residents for the exact unit you want WHILE you are living there as soon as you mention you're moving out. So unprofessional. You get 24 hours notice before a tour. Why give notice at all if you're just going to show up anyway? I've never seen this done in other buildings I've lived in before. It makes the vibe more business-like than actually living in a community. All they care about is your money. I really do like Walnut Capital overall, but the Walnut on Highland property itself is overpriced and unprofessional in their policies and communication with residents.

Reasonable garage parking, nice gym (looked small but I honestly had never seen more than 3 people in the gym together, usually me by myself...so you would definitely find your equipment available) and patio (closed during winter). We had the loft floor plan which was really cool and came with a lot of storage space as well. The only downside, as mentioned by other residents, is the sound traveling issue. However it depends on your neighbor as well. This past year we had a wonderful neighbor who was extra quiet which made our evenings very peaceful :) Management was approachable and responsible. Angela was such an angel and ALWAYS on top of everything. I would give her six stars if I could! PROS: 1) The building is well maintained with staff who work to keep it that way daily. 2) There is an onsite gym (though it's small) so you don't have to pay for a gym membership. 3) Apartments come with central air, dishwashers, disposals, wall to wall carpet and laundry. 4) Both garage and lot parking are available ($100 for garage, $50 for lot). CONS: 1) Since it's run by a big management company, you'll never be able to negotiate anything -- rent increase, parking charges, length of lease, breaking lease, etc. Everything is set in stone and management won't discuss changing it. 2) If you like to hear every single thing your neighbors are doing -- and I do mean EVERYTHING -- this is the place for you. In my 2 years I've heard the following: Phone conversations Sex Sneezing and coughing Music and TV Incessant walking and stomping from upstairs neighbors (in heels at 630am every day, no less) Appliances that shake your apartment (seriously, they shake so loud and so hard it feels like there's an earthquake happening) Kitchen cabinets opening and closing Putting away silverware Dogs barking Etc. As you can probably tell, the walls/floors/ceilings are THIN. We're talking paper here. If you're a light sleeper or you just like to have peace and quiet in your home, you won't find that here. 3) It's very close to the train tracks, so you'll hear them going by at all hours of the night and day. 4) As Pittsburgh rent goes, it's not cheap. The grounds are kept pristine, I always see someone working on the property doing something, whether it's cleaning out the walkways for the spring, touching up the landscaping (which is very beautiful) maintaining the parking lot, or cleaning the pool. It's clear management cares very much not just for the property for the tenants too. I've been checked in on several times since I have moved in. Leasing was very helpful getting me situated since I was moving for work it was a very stressful time trying to arrange everything, and this was one less thing I had to worry about in the process. I only ever had one small maintenance issue and it was addressed the next day. A definite recommend.

These are upscale apartments in Castle Shannon borough. They look exactly like Christopher Wren…read moreapartments in Wexford. However, there is one big difference: rent. A two bedroom, 2 bath in Christopher Wren is $1200/month. Here, its $1590 (+ gas, electric, water & sewage, which they estimate at about $250). Both apartments have the exact same amenities: new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, and (in-unit) washer & dryer. Here, the washer and dryer are one unit, the dryer being above the washer. I used to sell major appliances for Sears. These rarely sold, and frequently were returned, because they just didn't clean/dry well, and the (top loader) washer door barely opened because of the dryer. The dryer was too high for short/petite people, and you couldn't see inside well to be sure no laundry was left behind. Christopher Wren has big, energy efficient, front-load washers & dryers in a bigger laundry room with more storage. Additionally, Christopher Wren's bathrooms both have full tubs. Here, one bathroom has a stall shower, which you have to walk through to reach the walk in closet. Not so at Christopher Wren. I called and set an appointment. I arrived early, walking around to find the rental office. I called (Cara), only to find out they have another apartment building located in Baldwin with the same name. When I booked the appointment, she didn't ask me which location I wanted. She apologized, borrowed her sister's car and drive right over to meet me. The down side is they are across the street from St. Ann's R C. school, which, when they hold their week-long annual carnival, you'll get lots if noise and traffic. The other negative is the view. One side overlooks St. Ann's cemetery. On the plus side, at least you'll have quiet "neighbors"...
