Portal Pinball Arcade - Star Wars pinball machine

    Portal Pinball Arcade

I showed up to Portal Pinball Arcade completely on a whim after seeing a Facebook event. No plan…read more Pure "what the heck" energy. And honestly? Best accidental decision I've made all week. Flippin' Ladies Night was a blast. Amazing humans, great vibes, and enough pinball to activate my inner feral arcade goblin in the best way possible. Here's what I loved: you pay for time, not per game. Which means unlimited pinball + arcade chaos while sipping drinks from the bar, vibing to good music, and making new friends between flippers. It's basically a retro playground for grownups who still love buttons that go clack. The atmosphere is welcoming, fun, and delightfully unpretentious. One minute you're strangers, the next minute you're cheering each other on like you've been in a league together for years. I came in spontaneous... next time I might actually plan ahead because WOW. Also, firm believer in this life rule: if it's not a hell yes, it's a hell no. Well friends... this place is a HELL YES. 10/10 would wander in again. Bring friends. Make friends. Flip everything.

My family and I travel around the east coast visiting classic arcades whenever we can. Portal…read morePinball Arcade is just okay compared to many other arcades. Let's start with the good. They have a decent variety of pinball machines. They also have classic arcade games. They offer a variety of beers and snack which is nice. They also have lots of seating and stools. Stools are great because you can play while you sit which is great. Now for the bad. If you're looking for a classic arcade feel this is not the place. It's so quiet! Really all we heard was the ambient music (80s-90s hair bands which I love) but not why I'm here. Classic arcades are filled with the sounds of the games. Sadly there was little of that. Many of the video games had volume so low we couldn't hear them at all. The ones we could we had to strain to hear it. Also the upkeep of the games was not great. The terminator gun didn't work well at all, QBert was down, The Simpsons was down, dig dug was down. Star Wars was a 1-up system you can buy at Walmart and worn out, terrible experience. Many of the joy sticks were in need of maintenance as well. The Neo-Geo was not a MVS but rather a poor emulator that had color problems and terrible video tearing plus awful audio. Let's talk about the pinball machines. Most were modern machines that are still available for purchase. I saw a couple older ones but there was no information provided about the age. Overall this just okay. Many of the machines are not taken care of and this really ruins the experience for gamers.

Andretti will be coming to Durham NC soon and I'm glad I had a chance to experience it first in Marietta. This place is huge !!!! It's a full entertainment center that features Laser Tag, Arcade, Bowling, Indoor Go Karting, dining and a Sky Bar. My daughter and her team really enjoyed themselves. The Sky Bar was my favorite part ! Us parents enjoyed cocktails and beers while the kids enjoyed Laser Tag and Go Karting. My daughter shared that their Go Karts were the fastest she's experienced. Customer Service here was excellent. Looking forward to what the Durham location has to offer.

However, at the latest birthday party my child attended here it became obvious that the staff member hosting the group should not be working with children. She was repeatedly rude and unhelpful when my son asked questions or needed assistance, including when his helmet became stuck. She was so aggressive and unprofessional that she made him uncomfortable to the point where he didn't feel safe asking for water. I ultimately had to pick him up early. It was overcrowded with people colliding in the arcade area. Many arcade machines were broken, some of the laser tag blasters are broken, there were multiple police cars outside the entrance at the time. the environment did not feel well-managed or family-friendly. Given the high cost, I expect much better care, professionalism, and attention to children's safety and comfort. I would not recommend this venue for kids' parties.

If I could give negative, I would have! TERRIBLE! Terrible! Terrible!…read more This was supposed to be one of the happiest days of the year -- my little nephew's birthday. Instead, Mountasia turned it into a complete disaster that left us stressed, embarrassed, and heartbroken. From the start, it was chaos. They wrote down the wrong date, so when we arrived, it looked like we were the ones unprepared. Imagine showing up with excited kids and family only to feel like you're the problem when you did everything right. The party room wasn't ready until an hour late, the food came out way behind schedule, and the cake -- the centerpiece of the whole celebration -- was delayed so long that some guests gave up and left before even seeing it. The children were restless, confused, and disappointed. There was no service whatsoever. We didn't get the water bottles we paid for, staff disappeared when we needed them most, and instead of enjoying the party, we were running around begging for help. I couldn't even focus on the kids. My heart sank when my nephew fell and started bleeding because I was busy chasing staff down instead of being there with him. That's the kind of day it was. To make matters worse, when the food finally came, staff acted like it was a burden to serve the chicken we had chosen. They literally said, "Most people just order pizza." If you can't serve what you advertise, then don't put it on the menu. We paid for it -- we deserved it without the attitude. Even something as small as buying a plush toy turned into a 30-minute wait at an empty register because, apparently, "they're short on staff." And the final blow? My sister called management afterwards, desperate for some kind of acknowledgment or apology. Instead, she was mocked. They told her she "wasn't clear," sarcastically wished her "good luck getting a refund," refused to give their names, pretended to be managers, and then hung up on her. Who does that to a parent after ruining a child's birthday? I cannot express the disappointment and sadness we felt. We paid for a party package, but what we got was stress, humiliation, and tears. My nephew deserved joy, laughter, and celebration. Instead, Mountasia took that away from him and from us. Please -- if you love your children, if you respect your family and your time, stay far, far away from this place. They don't just ruin parties, they ruin memories that you can never get back.
