Find someone else, these guys messed up our system. Our heat…read morepump fan wasn't working correctly so we called these guys wanting to utilize a local business instead of one of the big chain companies. When I called and spoke with the owner (Jeff) he was just so friendly that I decided to use his company based on that fact alone. What a huge mistake. He sent his employee (Chester) to our house. Chester shows he thinks it is a problem with the thermostat after checking the unit. We have one of those programmable touchscreen thermostats so my husband asked him to change the thermostat and clean the coils. He refused to clean the coils. It takes a can of coil cleaner and a hose pipe. We had a hose pipe and a can of coil cleaner there. He starts trying to change the thermostat. After two hours him attempting to change our thermostat with 2 different new ones he can't get them to work and re-installs our old thermostat. He can't figure out how to get it to work either. We give him the owner's manual and he is still having trouble figuring out the situation. At this point we are at about 3 hours into this mess and Chester just keeps flipping through the manual. I didn't want to be rude and take the manual out of his hands so I pulled it up online. Chester couldn't figure out how to get into the main menu which was listed on page one of the manual. Let me repeat that it was on page one. I walked over to the thermostat and followed the simple instructions and reset the fan that had been the original problem all along. It took about one minute to do this. Chester stood over my shoulder watching. I hope that he learned something. At this point we have lost confidence in his ability as an AC tech. He goes back outside to check our freon levels as the unit is working now. He tells my husband the fan is turning backwards. My husband asks how can that happen, he says sometimes the windings go bad and the fan can reverse directions. He doesn't believe Chester. He has been at our house for almost 3 hrs at this point and it is assumed he was trying to make something up to bill us for all the time he has been there. We were mistaken about that, the fan actually had reversed polarity and was running backwards. He (Chester) places his multi meter on top of the unit knowing the fan is pulling air into the unit and not blowing it out as it should be. The fan sucks the probes from his multi meter into the unit, the probes wrap around the turning fan and get slung into the coil and puncture it. All of our freon shoots out into the air and we now have a coil with holes in it due to his incompetence. and a non-functioning unit. Chester was told to leave immediately. I called Jeff told him what happened and he says they will fix it. We told Jeff we do not want Chester on our property again. This is ignored. My husband tells him that we want a new coil. Yes, the unit is 10 years old but it was in really good shape and when Chester showed up my coil did not have any holes in it. Jeff and Chester show up the next morning, patch the holes in the coil, change the fan motor and re-charge the system to get it working again. They didn't charge us for any of the work and refuse to give us an invoice which we have asked for repeatedly. We reiterated that we wanted a new coil and Jeff said that they would have to order one and it would take a while to get so he wanted to get the unit running again until the new coil came in. Fast forward 4 months later and multiple phone calls and they are refusing to do anything else to the unit saying they fixed it already. In fact, Jeff keeps saying it is Chester's responsibility and that Chester will take care of it. He gives us Chester's number. Chester says the same thing: we fixed this unit, we patch holes in coils all the time. How many of them do you cause?? We called Dudley Shoals HVAC, Jeff's company, we did not call Chester, Jeff sent him out. Yet Jeff seems to think that it is not his responsibility. Jeff stood on my front porch, patted my husband on the shoulder, looked him in the eye and shook his hand and said we are going to take care of you buddy. We take care of all of our customers. This coming from a supposedly Christian man. Now they refuse to do anything further and have still not provided us with an invoice. I'm sorry, you may fix holes in coils all the time but I do not have confidence that the patched coil will last. When you showed up the coil was perfect. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask you to replace a part you damaged. We are considering litigation to force them to do what they should have done to start with: replace the coil. As they said they were going to do but turns out they have been stringing us along and never had any intention of replacing it.

The invoice said parts and labor, within 48 hours my air was out again. my new estimate was $1285 plus replacing the freon that was JUST put in! I had used them last year and was completely satisfied. I do not know what has changed, but I am NOT happy. If I could give negative stars, I would!
