Relaxing, friendly, and spacious! We had a great family camping weekend at Starlight and will definitely return in the future. Yes, it is quite hilly throughout the campground, but the individual sites are very level to park the camper with almost no blocks needed. We had two sites this trip with water and electric, but they do have quite a few full hook-up sites. Overall the sites were large, with trees between, providing additional privacy. Except for the Plateau sites, which have the amazing view, the rest of the campground had a great tree cover! Too often private campgrounds attempt to squeeze as many sites as possible and end up with campers on top of their neighbors, but at Starlight, the sites felt very secluded. Water pressure and electric were both great throughout the stay. There is no internet, but we had good cell phone service. The employees in the camp store are amazing and go out of their way to make you feel welcome! I felt everyone went above and beyond to help me from the reservation process through check-in. The camp store is well stocked and also serves hand-dipped ice cream. Starlight is a nice campground to relax or explore central Pennsylvania. read more

This is a really sweet little campground! Our spot was great, roomy, private. The amenities were very nice. Love the pool! Everything was clean. The folks staying there were really nice. It was quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our son was getting married and this was reasonably close. The other 2 campgrounds that were other options were on top of the tollway and a shooting range. This was soooo much better. They have sites that look over the valley. The view was breathtaking, but we preferred the shaded sites. If we had a reason to be in the area again, we would certainly return! read more

Starlite Camping Resort is just a wonderful down to earth campground . We stayed on the lower plateau and got to see this "iconic view" of Lancaster PA. Plenty of space between camp sites . We enjoyed riding our bikes on the property along with swimming in the biggest pool I have ever seen in a campground . Also while your there it's a must that you get ice cream at the camp store . Last the owners of this rv park are extremely nice . They work very hard keeping the campground up to par for us fellow campers. 5 stars !!! read more

This campground was great! Clean bathrooms, family oriented, great pool with a water slide for the kids, cool hiking trail, family activities on the front porch (we enjoyed the ice cream social with the blues band!) and the best part was the view! We loved that there were no golf carts so there was barely any road traffic. Sites were very spacious. The ones we stayed on had no trees above us, so it was great for star gazing at night. read more

We are currently camping here as I write this and the seasonal campers are not welcoming, I have 4 younger kids with us and as the kids are playing at the pool like typical kids do the seasonals are yelling at them and telling them to stop playing and jumping in which really annoyed us. The kids can't ride bike here it is WAY to hilly, even the campsites alone are hilly, it was hard to level the camper. We have been here for a couple days and NEVER had an issue at our campsite, until the seasonal campers came for their stay. We were on our site eating dinner playing yard games and keeping the kids content(not in quiet time hours) since they cant ride bike and we had a complaint against us for no reason at all, we were having famy bonding time, having fun and laughing. This is our first and last time here!! I do not recommend this place at all. read more

We discovered this campground several months ago while picking up an item from Craigslist. I had never heard of it before and since we like to camp often and local we added this to our list of places to visit. Our reservations were very inexpensive, only $44 per night but we didn't have sewer. While that is not necessarily a deal breaker for us we do prefer it but decided to book anyway. The weekend of our stay was a chili cook off. And since I like to be involved we planned for and participated in this event. I really enjoyed the camaraderie and the food, and got to talking with many other campers - all very friendly folk, in fact some of the friendliest we've encountered at campgrounds. In hindsight I do wish things were done a little differently both on my end and theirs at the cook off. I wish the cups would have been numbered with the name or number of the chili, a little sign describing the recipe so people didn't have to ask if it was spicy etc, and also wish as a participant we were given more time to sample the others. Even so it was a fun event and we enjoyed it as a family. The pool area consisted of two pools, a smaller one for kids about a foot deep, and a larger one that was deeper. The area was clean and attractive. Their pools were high on my list as being a favorite because the water was warm but still refreshing. I hate a cold pool, even on a hot day. There were a generous amount of loungers and tables with umbrellas but the space could certainly use more. Both times we visited the pool we weren't lucky enough to get seats and instead set up camp on the damp concrete. The bath houses were outdated but very clean and efficient. I especially liked that for the most part it was critter and web free. The shower areas were well designed with a wet area as well as a dry area, complete with a seat and hook storage. A wire shelf was appreciated in the shower area and the water pressure and temperature were top notch. While there was a seat in the dry area I would have loved to see a waterproof one in the shower area as well as shaving my legs and bathing a toddler without it proved difficult. Aside from the chili cook off we enjoyed Saturday night bingo with cash prizes and a hay ride around the campground. To my surprise it was much bigger than I thought. The top plateau is treeless and has an excellent view overlooking neighboring farmland. I would have loved to have been up there but those sites book quickly. A side note with mentioning about bingo: whenever someone won bingo the owner not only announced their name but also were they were from and a short tidbit about their town. I thought that was charming. Aside from the activities and the pool, there were tennis courts and a volleyball field, laundromats, an outdated arcade (no tickets), and a nice store. While the store was light on food items it did carry a good selection of camping supplies and toys, as well as offering hand dipped ice cream in the most unusual of flavors. The owners are very hands on and friendly , with the Mr front lining most of the activities. He has a very colorful personality and is a bit of a comic, but very warm and welcoming just the same. So why only 3 stars? It has more to do with what we like than what the campground can't change. Some disappointments were the wooded feel of the sites - I prefer less trees and more landscaped surroundings and this was more natural and woodsy than we like. I also like my amenities; sewer, wifi, cable...this campground didn't have that, only a hotspot down at the office. Thankfully our T-mobile service worked as it would have made for a miserable experience (it rained pretty heavy for a few hours). Other disappointments were the steepness of the hills making it difficult to get to the store and attractions with a stroller, the narrow, graveled roadways, as well as the seclusion. The closest dining options were a good 15 minutes + with a longer drive for more selections. I also love my bingo and love a bingo board - when traveling with toddlers that is a must to keep my game in check. With being so far out I would have also appreciated a few more activities. While we probably won't stay here again due to our personal preferences I would recommend them and am glad we had the experience. read more

I travel around the country in my 5th wheel and have stayed in lots of campgrounds. Hands down this is the best one I have ever stayed in. The owners are the nicest people I have ever met, Dave, Sue and their 4 children run the campground. A real family atmosphere, always activities on the weekend, very quite place, game room, store and a hiking trail. There are sites with a view of the valley or some more private which ever you want. Very clean place, the bathrooms are cleaned twice a day, they have dinners quite often, hotdogs today for $.50. Dave always has a joke and a smile. If you are looking for a place to go for the weekend or the whole summer this is the place! read more
