Although language was spoken in English, he kept asking what ethnicity I was. When he asked so many questions, I answered but he cut me off when I had a questions. I told him that I was watching for 1 hour and 20 min but he cut me off twice and did not want to acknowledge it or apologize about it. He was busy writing down all the notes from my previous doctor and facing the computer the whole time. It was in a office he was sharing with another doctor not in a regular exam room. I asked why I was not in a exam room, he did not answer. Finally he told me none of my symptoms had anything to do with his field of work so I said he does not have to write it down if it's irrelevant, the. He turned around for the first time and threaten me that I should go see someone else and asked do you want to continue to see me or not. He slammed the all the documents on his desk. He should not see the patients with that attitudes or settings. He said if you don't want to wait next time, just do the tele health. At the time, I was speechless so without arguing, I just left but I should have said something about his racist comments and his threats. I do not recommend anyone to see him. He should quit seeing patients now.

We are still in the struggle, but she's always responsive, and her staff, when they noticed my mother's blood pressure, were compassionate, kind, and helpful. The office is new and clean, and the nursing staff is amazing. We are going to miss them, since Dr. Wang moved to City of Hope. I can already tell that the nurses here are special, as we are not experiencing that level of detail and care at City of Hope!

My appointment was on July 2 at 1:00 PM. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire on the highway because my…read moretire pressure suddenly dropped to zero within minutes. As soon as it happened, I called the office before my appointment time to explain the situation and let them know I would definitely be there by 1:30 PM. The front desk staff told me that if I was more than 15 minutes late, my appointment would be canceled--no exceptions. Luckily, I managed to get there at 1:15 PM after dealing with the tire emergency. During the phone call, I explained that I'm pregnant and that my doctor is very concerned about me receiving my medication on schedule. Delaying or rescheduling my infusion could affect the effectiveness of my treatment and potentially trigger a serious flare-up during my pregnancy. Despite explaining the medical urgency and the emergency I was facing, the front desk staff still insisted that because the next day was a holiday, the schedule was completely full. I understand that offices have policies and busy schedules, but this was a genuine emergency--not someone simply showing up late without notice. My infusion appointment lasts about two hours, and I believed there could have been some flexibility or willingness to work with me. Instead, I felt like I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a patient with a legitimate medical need. I also want to point out that many of the patients receiving treatment here are undergoing chemotherapy or other infusion therapies. These patients often need extra accommodation, understanding, and compassion. It was heartbreaking to experience such a rigid and unsympathetic attitude during a genuine emergency. One of the nurses suggested that I simply switch my future appointments to Mondays. I was honestly shocked by that response. My issue wasn't about which day my appointments were scheduled--it was about how I was treated when I encountered an unavoidable emergency. Rather than showing empathy, the response felt dismissive. I've been coming to this office for infusions every two months, so I'm very familiar with how the clinic operates. During this visit, I spent about two hours in the infusion center, and it was not unusually busy. The patient volume appeared normal. I also observed staff chatting about their vacation plans and working at a relaxed pace. Based on what I experienced, it was difficult to understand why there was absolutely no flexibility for a patient dealing with an unexpected medical and transportation emergency. Healthcare is about more than following policies--it's about caring for people. Policies are important, but they should never replace compassion, especially for patients receiving infusion therapy, cancer treatment, or those who are pregnant and rely on time-sensitive medications. This experience left me feeling frustrated, unsupported, and deeply disappointed. I sincerely hope the management reviews how patients are treated in exceptional circumstances. A little empathy and a willingness to work with patients can make all the difference

Terrible clinic -- avoid if you care about your loved ones…read more Our experience here during a cancer crisis was beyond frustrating. Dr. Kim, the oncologist, showed zero compassion -- he rolled his eyes when we told him this was our first referral after the diagnosis and offered no helpful information beyond saying surgery was urgent. He claimed he submitted a referral, but a week later we learned it hadn't been sent. No apology -- just a late submission to a surgeon who doesn't even accept new patients. We found a qualified surgeon ourselves and requested a new referral, only to be stonewalled by the authorizations department with excuses like "it'll take 7 days," blaming insurance (which confirmed approvals take minutes). No call back from the doctor. Phones go unanswered. Office feels chaotic and unprofessional. In a time when every day matters, they cost us nearly two weeks. Stay away from this clinic -- especially if time, care, and communication matter.

But as someone who has sworn an oath in my federal role and is bound…read moreby strict standards of compliance and integrity, I have a legal and moral obligation to speak up. The Oncology Institute (TOI) failed my family and that's putting it mildly. A suspicious mass identified earlier this year was met with same day canceled appointments, delayed referrals, and no follow ups.. I not only became a full time caregiver for my loved one, I was now forced to take over TOI's administrative responsibilities: making calls, chasing authorizations, tracking down labs, coordinating between facilities. That is not the job of a family member. That's the clinic's job, and they failed. Because of this negligence, the cancer has spread and terminal. The fallout wasn't just emotional. I've lost income and have had to decline federal job assignments to manage the mess they created. While TOI hides behind California's malpractice caps and legal protections, this is no longer just a state issue. The failures here rise to a level that demands federal oversight. Formal complaints will be filed. I refuse to stay silent while others risk going through the same. I will pursue every legal remedy available to ensure this organization is held financially and ethically accountable for the harm it caused.

I have tried changing the day and time of my appointments, but I always seem to have to wait for extended periods of time. Then I am seen by the doctor for about 5 minutes and he never seems to remember me as his patient. He also googles the answer to my questions. It's frustrating to know that I have to spend all day waiting in the crowded waiting area just so the doctor can get paid (He has literally stated that I have to make these appointments so he can get paid even though we are just monitoring the effects of a medication through blood work). I know I have a pretty rare blood disorder, but I wish I could just monitor my status through lab results, skip the visit and just send them a check in the mail. Though the staff is nice, it is not enough to compensate for the horrendous wait time and insignificant encounter with Dr. Steven Wong.
