Crowded front area. Backed up ticket lines and extremely backed up entrance getting into the theater as 1 person was scanning all tickets.

Ms. Maria Orozco (GM), I hope that you see this to make some necessary changes at this location. We went to see The Hunger Games tonight. Perhaps 2/3 into the movie, we smell smoke/gas/sparks in the theater. People started leaving. Unfortunately, in 2023, when you see a crowd leave, it's wise to leave as well. A manager comes over. We expect him to be a leader. To communicate with the crowd. We only overhear him asking someone on the phone should he evacuate the theater and then he disappears and does not say a word to any of us. There was no plan. No remedy. No nothing. This disturbance interrupted our experience and left many of us perplexed. Many gave up and left. Some returned to the room and others like myself wanted to be comped for the ticket/movie we were unable to finish and it was reasonable to expect perhaps a 2nd ticket for our trouble and inconvenience. What actually occurred? Customers knocking on the box office door and being ignored for quite some time and once we did speak to the assistant manager, we were told that we could only get a refund because that's what Corporate said he could do. Nothing more. He"ll get in trouble. He said Corporate said whatever happened was not the theater's fault so it is what it is. A refund was the best that can be done and you had to have your paper ticket still on you. Preposterous! Once my ticket is scanned, into the garbage it goes. And not the theater's fault? Is this the appropriate position and statement to give to customers in this situation? This kind of chaos and unprofessionalism would never happen at an AMC or Regal. They know how to treat their customers. Here, they have no concept of customer service. It's ridiculous that they made us feel like beggars. I will not be back at this location. The way this situation was handled tonight was unacceptable and abysmal. What if it was a serious emergency? There would have been no leadership or communication on site. This is a very dangerous way to operate. The team on site needs training and empowerment to make wise decisions for different scenarios. This is clearly not the current set up.

$5 movies - even for new releases!

Where else in Orange County can you go watch a new-released movie for $5 ??? I haven't been to this movie theater since whatever it was called a decade ago when there was also a Barnes & Nobles bookstore here at Triangle Square. I went this past Sunday with a friend to check out Guardians of the Galaxy III - and I was starting to wonder what condition the theater might be if they're selling tickets for $5 each to see a movie that was released just a week or so ago. What's awesome is that it's matinee, but we didn't have to go super early - our showtime was 4:35pm, which is still relatively well into the day. Parking is easy - at least considering it was also Mother's Day when we went. The seats are comfy - with just the right amount of recline so you're not creeping into the personal space of the person sitting behind you. Unfortunately, the theater wasn't really temperature controlled - I usually pack a light jacket because theaters tend to be cold - but I think the offset to the $5 matinee ticket is that the A/C wasn't running. Our room was warm to hot - not warm to cold. On the brightside, what you save on tickets - you can spend at their concessions stand. I picked up nachos ($7) and a water ($5). The movie was great - sound, picture, lighting - it didn't feel like a bargain experience, other than the warmer than usual climate, it was a quality experience. Would probably go back. Shoutout to the box office clerk, Ashlee - who was friendly and efficient in exchanging my friend's online tickets he had bought for the Anaheim location instead of the Costa Mesa one. She was able to switch our passes for her location without issue.

It's a very no frills theater but for the price it's a good deal. Matinee before 4 pm are $5 so it's a good cheap movie date

Probably one of the worst movie theaters I've been to in recent times…read more Parking is convoluted. Garage parking is available for free but you have to go around an odd pathway-- staircase, office courtyard area, and another corridor. As soon as you enter the theater, you are hit in the face with moldy and musty air along with stale oil and popcorn stench. Yuck. The carpets are grimy and dirty too. I needed to use the bathroom beforehand and it made me feel violated and disgusting. The seats were covered with urine and there was no toilet seat cover. The sink area was absolutely soaked with water and I can understand why. The faucet splashed water in every direction but onto my hands. To top it off, not only was the floor wet because of that, but there was no soap or paper towels to use. I came out of the bathroom drenched and felt disgusted by the lack of cleanliness. Now the seats at this theater doesn't recline at all so if you're watching a long movie like the Wicked, you will come out feeling sore. The seats doesn't have much space between the rows in front or behind. Consequently, despite it being not packed, it felt distracting because of the coming and going of different people, their sniffing, talking, munching, packet rummaging, and everything else. Not to mention the horrible smell of old popcorn and mold really made the entire experience that much more unpleasant. Despite enjoying the actual movie itself, it was unfortunate I felt too grossed out by the bathroom situation and not wanting to eat or drink anything because of it. Lastly, the tickets are refundable and/or easily exchangeable online. Don't be a sucker like me and watch your movie here. Just request a refund prior to showtime and save yourself from having an experience like I did.

All you need to do is literally sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie. Hubbie and I came to watch "Marty Supreme" today (amazing movie by the way!), and had a great experience. We ordered our tickets online, got to choose our seats in advance, and they even offered a discount! I was a bit hungry so we ordered large popcorn, chicken tenders, and a large coke. Everything came out around $25, which is not bad. What's even better was that their chicken tenders were delicious! It took a bit of time to prepare, but they were cooked so well. Inside the theater, everything was clean and the room temperature was perfect. What I really loved was the spacious seats they offered. I could comfortably excuse myself outside without worrying about bothering those around me. I will definitely choose to come back to this theater. Do save yourself some time to find parking, as The District can get busy at times. Other than that, sit back, relax, and enjoy your movie!

We got there before our 6:10 movie to grab concessions and ordered very basic items... french fries, nachos, popcorn, and drinks. Somehow it still took about 15-20 minutes just to get fries and chips with cheese. I can understand fries taking some time, but waiting that long for nachos honestly made no sense. It seemed like our order had been forgotten about until we finally asked again. To the employee's credit, he did apologize and gave us two free movie tickets to try to make up for it, which I appreciated. He did his best to handle the situation professionally. The theater itself feels older and a little awkwardly set up. I understand it's in Newport Beach across from Fashion Island, but there are definitely nicer and more updated theaters around. Overall, probably not a theater I would personally come back to.

This is the closest theater to my house and there are actually several things i do love about it…read moresuch as discount Tuesdays, the app is easy to use, and the regular concession stuff is really fast. But i have multiple bones to pick which is why they get a 2 star rating: 1. AC??? Hello?? Do not bring a sweatshirt or blanket "in case it's chilly in there". It will not be chilly, you will be sweating. 2. The staff at this location is consistently lacking in common sense and courtesy. They're always nice but genuinely never seem to know any answers to questions or take initiative on really helping out a customer. 3. Ordering hot food (chicken tenders, wings, mozz sticks, etc.) is absolutely garbage. I sent an order for French fries (just fries, nothing else) at 4:48P and chose 5:00P as pick up time. My fries were not ready until 5:15P. There is no planet where fries take 30 minutes unless you are making and baking them from scratch. Last time i ordered hot food also took about 30 minutes. I can get a full meal at a sit down restaurant in less time. Even when using mobile ordering to try to get ahead of this issue i was still waiting 30 minutes. I wish HB had more theater options :(
