I love coming here. I'm not sure exactly when I started coming here but it's been since around 1997 at least. I had tried 2-3 other brands of hearing aids starting f around age 15 before trying Starkey. The company I had before Starkey made my ears bleed. Literally. It was a horrible year and a half trying to find a solution with that company. From the moment I stepped into Starkey a few decades ago thru today, it has been nothing but an amazing experience for me. Not only are the hearing aids themselves custom fit and programmed to be perfect for me, I actually love coming here. They have always been great at getting me in for a repair as quickly as possible and the staff here is amazing! The last time I upgraded to new hearing aids, the founder, Bill Austin himself, fitted the finished aids for me and tweaked them. I honestly don't know very many founders of huge companies that still put in hours on the floor after a company gets big enough for them not to do so. read more

Product is very good. Service is very poor. It is normal to wait 60 to 120 minutes past your appointment time to be seen. Definitely needs to be corrected. The patients time is valuable as well. read more

What a disgrace. My mom who is 85 applied for your hearing aid program. She was denied as not qualifying due to income. Her income was way below the requirements; however, I sent her money for the Starkey Foundation Application fee and they count that as income. They counted her selling off her clothes as income on ebay even though she is selling at a loss just to eat. She was diagnosed with cancer and wanted just to ear in her final years. What a disgrace. I am disabled and wish I could find her and pay for hearing aids from a company that truly cares. This company does not. And another thing. I posted this review on their facebook page and they removed it. They also blocked me from posting on facebook or sending them messages. Thus, I am sure Starkey Foundation and Hearing Aids removes any negative feedback so they look like they have a good service or product. read more

In 2021, I donated a set of practically new (worn 5-10x) Phonak hearing aids (worth ~$4500) I purchased in 2015 to Starkey Hearing Foundation. I found Starkey online and saw they accepted donations and are a 501-c-3 organization, and that they would provide me with a tax-deductible receipt. I printed out these materials so I would follow the instructions perfectly. I donated these hearing aids in GOOD FAITH and waited the 6-8 weeks they requested. I received no receipt. At week 10, I called and they told me they aren't giving out TD receipts anymore. So now I get no tax deduction and they CONFISCATED my hearing aids. I spoke with Elizabeth Sweet, who continually denied my request for a receipt, in addition to denying to return my hearing aids. I also sent a certified, return receipt letter to the President and CEO, Brandon Sawalich, to either provide a TD Receipt or my property. He didn't even bother to respond. The right thing to do would have been to contact me at the point of receipt to explain the situation and offer to return my property to me. The company made no effort to contact me or inform me. UPDATE: I got a call from Starkey on Friday. I planned on Monday to File a case against them in Small Claims, so the timing was perfect. The gentleman told me he would send me a 501-c-3 receipt. He explained that the department that used to take in the hearing aids was dismantled and they had little manpower for receiving hearing aids. The program was stopped in 2020. Although I was not aware of this when I downloaded the donation instructions, he honored my request because of this. I am upgrading the rating from 1 star to 4 stars. Thank you, Starkey! read more

My 90 yo Mother has hearing aids from Starkey, and sadly they are defective and do not work. They have consistently been brought in for repair, they will work for a few days and then again, not working. Frustration on my Mom's part as well as our family that she reluctantly agreed to purchase them simply due to the cost and her limited income. After numerous repairs that have not resolved the issue my sister contacted Bill Austin via mail asking for assistance. NO RESPONSE from Starkey. Sadly, it's apparent they simply don't care. I would hope that a company would want to stand by their product, but their lack of response says they don't. Based on the poor quality of this product, and more importantly their lack of response we cannot and will not recommend this company to anyone. We will only share our experiences, which is not favorable. It's sad that a 90 yo widow has been subjected to such poor customer service and a defective product. read more

The first set of hearing aids lasted a little over a year before they started making a loud screeching noise. They were replaced by Starkey with supposedly the latest and greatest model. I was told that the remainder of my warranty would transfer to the new aids. They have never worked correctly, and I can hear almost as good without them as I can while wearing them. My warranty has since expired, and they wanted another $300.00 per year for each hearing aid. Really disappointed with Starkey, and contacted customer service. Was told to contact VA for new hearing aids or go back to the hearing aid center that programmed them to see if they can help.I paid over $5000.00 for these out of my own pocket. Really hurts when you are on a fixed income, and get the run around. UPDATE 10/21/2019 Well I called Starkey this morning as requested, and all I can say is what a waste of time it was. The customer service agent was polite, but was unable to help me at all. He suggested I return the hearing aids to Starkey for repair, and since they are out of warranty I would be responsible for the cost of repairs. I suggested that he contact Mountain View Hearing Center to have them check the programming, but was told that was not his department and that I would have to contact a sales representative. Really sorry customer service from Starkey, and I will remember this and tell everyone I know to stay away from this brand. I have read some of the other reviews on here, and see that almost all of them have been told to call Starkey and discuss their problems. I'm sure they have had the same reply I received. Thanks Starkey for a complete waste of $5000.00 for something that did not last 2 years. So much for buying American crap. read more

I'm happy to report that Pam Poferl at Starkey provided great customer care and did what she could to help remedy the situation with my mom's hearing aids. While pam wasn't able to get a refund from the Sterling Hearing she did work with another hearing aid consultant in the area, a woman named Cristin Peyerk at Hearing Consultants, to help mom get fitted with the right domes so she could comfortably wear her hearing aids. Pam and Cristin offered mom two free follow up visits and provided extra batteries to insure that the issues she was having with short battery life were related to old batteries and not malfunctioning hearing aids. read more

I have received hearing aids which I could not have afforded throught the kindness of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. There is a special prayer I say every afternoon at 3:00PM. One afternoon, since I have difficulty walking, I took my scooter and went to a special quiet place in my neighorhood to say my prayer . For the first time in a very long time in the peace and quiet of that lovely place, I heard leaves rustling on the trees. I also heard birds chirping loudly. I felt as though I had a visit with God and this was all due to the hearing aids that I now have. I can't thank Starkey enough for this wonderful gift to me. I will be forever grateful. read more

Hello, I originally purchased a starkey hearing aid appox. 6 years ago. Last year I purchased a new one along with the remote that can be hooked up to the tv Here is the kicker, I am very upset about the units. First, the remote had to be sent back to the company, it was faulty. The hearing aid had to be sized 2-3 times, ( this was NOT the audiologists fault). This week I went back to the audiologist because i as having problems with both the remote & the hearing aid. As it turned out both units had to be sent to the factory, both have problems. I spent a lot of money and do NOT expect this many problems for years never mind that it's been less then a year. I am very upset and very dissatisfied with the hearing aid and the remote. I paid an additional $250 for the remote. Obviously it's a new product and way too many quarks need to be worked out. I paid for the remote that seems to be prototype - bad design. Also my previous starkey hearing aid i had an option to control the volume with my mobil phone, with this a have to buy a gadget to do so. It is very disturbing and don't think I would ever purchase a starkey product. Thank you. read more
