Visited this Starbucks yesterday for the first time in over 10 years according to my previous review. What a great experience! My mom has been hooked on their matcha with lavender cold foam, it's too sweet for me but it's really a beautiful drink and she loves it. I just got an iced black coffee. Since I hadn't been to Starbucks in literally a decade I didn't know what to say except "iced black coffee". The gentleman at the register showed me the different cup size options and explained the difference between cold brew and iced coffee. The service was quick and friendly. When we got there I quickly realized we didn't want to go through the drive through because the line was crazy! But the woman inside with the blonde hair was super friendly and grabbed my order from the drive through side. I didn't get food or anything just coffee and a tea but everything tastes good! I'd give 0 stars if I could. My SO went to this Starbucks today after he completed a job and wanted to use the restroom. He asked the cashier if he could use the restroom and she then asked if he was buying anything, he told her he might after he uses the restroom. She proceeds to tell him he needs to buy something to use the restroom. He then orders something and as he's paying a white man walks up and asks to use the restroom and she just gives him the code. So I guess only black people are required to make a purchase before they are allowed to use the restrooms. This is very disrespectful and I would expect more out of Starbucks employees. read more

Easy on / off highway but be very careful not to pass it as it's easy to miss. On the right after the bend. Friendly staff but then again you're in Virginia, so people are generally friendly. Convenient drive thru option too. read more

This used to be a good Starbucks, however; no longer. The staff was friendly, but the drinks over-priced and don't taste as good as in the past. The powdered chocolate tastes awful and there were no chips in the java chip. The prices climb and quality declined. read more

I'm not sure which of the employees makes the drip coffee here, but it is the best dark roast coffee that I've been able to find anywhere for literally years. It's shocking how good it is, I'm not kidding. Haha, when I want to treat myself in this town, I skip the restaurants (which are all terrible) and instead I buy myself a coffee here where you can count on it always being good. One of two stand-alone Starbucks in Winchester, this one had a very long queue through the parking lot at 10:30 AM on a weekday morning. I parked instead and went inside where, yes, it's the same layout as other Starbucks with coolers of drinks and pastries, seating and free wifi. Stopped in at this Starbucks one evening around 6:30 pm. Needed a caffeine blast to insure that my eyelids stayed propped open on the drive home from Winchester to Haymarket. Ordered a Grande cold brew - with room for cream. Drink came up quickly and was strong and tasty. This is a huge Starbucks - tons of seating to sit and work, chat, laugh. Our office orders from this starbucks many days of the week and the service here is just bad. The latte's are not good. Not smooth no froth. Orders are commonly wrong. Today, we received our venti and Grande drinks in tall cups (2 each) and it was like drinking coffee with creamer not smooth at all. This coffee is too expensive to be made so poorly. read more

HOLY!!!! My husband and I decided to get coffee and breakfast before heading back home. I read the reviews of this place before placing the order but last time I was here, it wasn't that bad and we got our drink fairly fast. So I placed a mobile order for 1 hot coffee, 1 ice coffee with Splenda and a bagel. Went through the drive through and when told the worker that we are here for a mobile pick up order. We got to the window to get our order and we just get our bagel. Then we told them we order 2 drinks as well and.............they did not know which one was our drink since they lost the label for the mobile orders. Finally they locate our drink and we drive off...until we realized they didn't give us any straws. My husband had to walk inside to get a straw for me. On top of that they did not put any Splenda in my drink... Every Starbucks I go to, the quality of the service is HORRIBLE. This starbucks is pretty hit or miss. If you have a 30 min lunch break and think you have time to grab a coffee, YOU DON'T. Normally, I would a give a business the benefit of the doubt. But this is Starbucks, a corporation who can efficiently train an employee on the entire menu in less than a week. I was a Starbucks barista myself and it's no rocket science. After being open over a month, they have had more than enough time to figure it out. I have little hope of any improvement considering that they continue to have a fluzy of customers despite their poorly made drinks and extensive wait times. The designers of the building are the ones who earned the stars from me. It's comfortably conditioned with multiple outlets for the studying students. This is the second standalone Starbucks in Winchester opened in Aug '15 and it is much larger than the route 7 one which is one offramp North (if you're hurling down 81 CHOOSE THIS ONE). The building used to be a KFC; they completely renovated it and it's a got the typical atmosphere and all the jolted liquidity concoctions you demand. There is plenty of various seating options from bar seating to leather club chairs to small and larger tables. It also has a generous patio area with green umbrellas to enjoy the fresh Winchester air. read more

I have been trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that the store is new and they are in the learning process, but it doesn't seem to be improving. It literally takes me 15-20 minutes to get through the the drive through every single time. Even when there is no line to wait behind. EXTREMELY slow to fulfill orders. I don't know if it's bad management, or just poor training, but something needs to improve. Thankfully the employees are kind. That's the only reason for two stars. Hopscotch is a much better option for service and for quality. read more

This is an update : I went to Starbucks again today and got excellent service that was fast and friendly. Brian (Bryan) took my order and was super pleasant and friendly. There were about 4 cars in front of me but the line went fast. I got a drink and 2 breakfast sandwiches and I was only in line for about 10 minutes from the time I pulled in until I left. Great improvement and keep up the awesome work! This Starbucks has amazing coffee but is super slow. I went through the drive thru on a Thursday morning and it took 25 minutes! Seriously? They really need to speed up their service. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to get an iced caramel macchiato. I know they recently opened but that's no excuse. I could have made it to the Starbucks on Route 7, gotten my drink order, and back to this Starbucks by the time they took my order. I am not normally a big starbucks fan but recently I have been stopping before work! I ordered a Grande Cold Brew this morning with SF caramel and some heavy cream because I am on a keto diet. Micheal the gentleman at the window is always so nice and amazing. He makes me smile and he always has a smile on his face. When I drove by the old KFC and saw that they were opening up a new Starbucks, drive thru even, I got so excited! Now there's one on each side of town. Like most drive thru places in Winchester, this Starbucks drive thru is very slow. The customers are peppy and kind. I am giving FIVE stars because I love Starbucks and I'm giving them a benefit of the doubt for being new and it being their grand opening week. Those of you that don't have a registered Starbucks card should definitely do it. You earn free drinks when you purchase a certain number of items and they give you a free birthday drink. read more

My husband and I were just talking a driver and we're looking to stop at sonic for a drink when we saw the Starbucks. We decided to stop there and get a pink drink (berry hibiscus or strawberry refresher with coconut milk in place of the water). I let the young lady working the drive-through our order. You can wait a long time for a drink if there's ANYONE in line. But the staff is friendly and will fix anything you need. It's a great Location compared to the other one. Kristin took me by surprise today with how cheerful and helpful she was during my visit. She could see I had several items in my arms and thought to ask if I needed a bag to help juggle my purchase. I love seeing which baristas can nail my tricky order, and she got it 100% correct. Clearly, she knows her Starbucks! While still being productive, she chatted with me about how my day was going. When I was leaving the store, I went up to the counter to ask her name. Another lady at the counter chimed in about Kristin's exceptional service. This review is totally off topic and not particularly about coffee. I have epilepsy and today while waiting for my order, I had a seizure inside this location. A customer caught me, and from what I remember the staff was quick to respond escorting me to a car outside where someone was waiting for me. They remade my order, asked if I needed an ambulance and made sure there wasn't anything they could do. This is going above and beyond great customer service. 5 stars! read more

**UPDATE** I went back to Starbucks today (1-11-16) and there were 5 cars ahead of me. I thought "oh great, here we go again" but I am happy to admit I was wrong! I was only in line 7 minutes this time. So much improvement over my last visits!! Very pleased, hopefully this continues. I wish I could give 5 stars because I love Starbucks and honestly this new location makes my iced caramel machiato so much better than other locations I've frequented. However, I'm extremely bummed at how slow the drive-thru is! My first time I was in line for 35 minutes and I'm still shocked I even waited it out. I think I did so because I know how it is opening a new store and trying so hard to have things run smoothly. I gave it some time to get the kinks out and get everyone trained up to speed. Still extremely slow. I still wait 15-20 minutes in the drive-thru. This seriously bums me out because everything else is great other than the waiting! I won't quit coming though, I just have to do it on days I'm off or not on a time schedule. Also, and I know you guys don't have any control of it but exiting the parking lot onto pleasant valley is a horrible steep slope. And it was that way when it was kfc but oh my goodness it doesn't matter how slow I go or what angle I try to cut it my car scrapes every single time no matter what! Very frustrating! This Starbucks lacks in just about everything: poor location, poor customer service, poor wait times. If I could give no stars, I would. I work close by, so I stopped in the drive thru, ordered a peppermint mocha frappucino and a chocolate chip cookie. No problem there except waiting extremely long... But I have been to the other Starbucks location on route 7 so I know this is how they usually roll. I get up to the window, and my drink still isn't ready, nor my cookie. I did ask for it warm, and a barista threw my cookie to the guy at the window, it hit the floor. The guy at the window, and other baristas around the area made an expression but I was still served the dropped cookie In a pastry sleeve. I was quite baffled, kind of taken back that people work in the customer service industry and would still give a person a cookie that dropped on the floor. I think all of those who were around, and didn't speak up are just as bad at the guy who served me the cookie. I had previously read the reviews on this Starbucks before I even decided to make the trip, and it's obvious management does not care because of the ratings on this yelp page, and everyone complaining about exhausting wait times. So, I decided to contact corporate about this issue. I won't be back to this location, and frankly think it's very sad Target locations are better than the chain stores.... In literally everything. This place made me laugh. I am driving thorough Winchester, stopped for a cup of my usual black eye coffee. The "barista" at the register seemed to be in a coma, just staring in to the space. I asked her if she could take my order? That woke her up and she said yes. I told her what I wanted, then she left the register and went to the girl at the next register and asked her to ring me up???
