Tips: - This Starbucks cafe has a drive-thru. - It's super busy on a Saturday, so expect a bit of a wait for your order. I have passed by this Starbucks cafe many times over the years. I always see the drive-thru with cars lined up. I had just finished having a late lunch at Sunset Grill. I decided to walk over to this cafe to check it out. I walked in and noticed that there wasn't an available spot to sit down. I wasn't thinking about plopping myself down, but it was busy. There were seven staffers working diligently. It looked like clockwork observing them. A friend of mine had recommended a Starbucks insulated tumbler. I didn't see it at this store. I also don't know whether it's available in Canada, as she is stateside. What stood out was a vacuumed-insulated cup sleeve that keeps your coffee or tea hot. It was different! I headed to the order area and got a nice male barista. I ordered a grande iced peach green tea. I got my Starbucks barcode scanned to pay for my drink. Done! I waited patiently for my drink. It took a while. I saw a tall iced matcha latte being made. It sat on the pickup counter for as long as I was there. I then saw a hot drink for Peter accompany the iced matcha latte. Do these people order drinks and walk out the door? Maybe they were mobile orders. I have no idea. A female barista asked her male colleague if he could make my drink. It took little time for him to make it and then call my name. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He reciprocated. I went to take a couple of photos of my drink. I got a paper straw and happily sipped my drink as I walked back to my car. This drink was yummy. It was consistent and had the best peach flavour. The ice level was perfect. Location: At Duffern and major MacKenzie. It's in a really big plaza. The kind that wraps almost all the way around the parking lot. There are lots of stores. The Starbucks is pretty easy to find Parking: It's a plaza in Richmond Hill so it's free and there's lots of it Location: It's smallest but there are lots of seats. It's not uncomfortably squished. It's bright and bustling People sitting in but surprisingly a lot of people coming in and out for coffee. Staff: They're nice. I've only been here when it's really busy. So I don't know if it's always really busy. So I've only ever seen the staff when they're really concentrating. No one's mean or stressed. They are efficient. The goods: It's the regular Starbucks fair. It's a corporation so everything's made the same no complaints. Although it is really busy and I've seen some people get huffy having to wait a couple minutes I've been here a few times. I like to meet people here if we're going to be going on to something else in the neighborhood we could grab a quick drink. A "little" tiny bit slow! but nothing major! I go to this location almost everyday, it's very close and on my way I usually go into the drive through, and only been inside twice I have orders some large orders from there, custom sweets and cake pops, and they're very accommodating, service was great and the manager on duty at that time was very professional. read more

The Electric outlets here are placed in really awkward places, you really need to look for them. This location is right by my house so I come here often. The location is small doesn't have too many spots to sit if your looking for a place to study. The manager and staff at this location are really nice. If I ever ask for a large drink to be split between two cups or for extra whip this location is always accommodating. L O C A T I O N After a long flight from Seattle to Toronto this was my first stop since landing. In between Major McKenzie and Dufferin. They have their own parking spot and drive-thru. D R I N K Got the Narinos 70 (A.K.A Cold Brew). Straight from the tap and tasted just like home. S E R V I C E The barista was alright. I had to repeat myself a couple times that I wanted a Narinos 70. He didn't know what it was. So I said Cold Brew and pointed to the picture on the wall. Kinda weird how he didn't know what it was, maybe he was a trainee? O V E R A L L This location was pretty small. It had a few small tables here and there. I have been to the Starbucks many times while my kid was at nearby art classes. Pros: the people working here are great and their showcase is always well stocked. They always get my drink order right, from low maintenance through high maintenance days. They have two washrooms that are clean. Plenty of seating. Drive thru! Bright, despite all the dark furniture. Cons: drafty in colder weather. Brrrrr! They added a ton of crowded seating and lost the cozy leather chairs at the front. Few electrical outlets which means if you happen to sit by one, you will be interrupted by someone desperate for a charge and you will likely end up moving seats. read more

I use to work very close to this location - so I would literally be a this particular Starbucks everyday. Inside - the place is quite small and the tables and chairs are all cramped together - so I wouldn't suggest coming here to study or work. This location can get really busy in the mornings so I would place mobile orders to try to avoid the rush. Although, the order would occasionally still take a long time to be made (even though the app gives an estimate time of 4-8 minutes). Also, a fair warning about mobile orders is that there's a good chance someone may take it or the barista may mix it up. One time I requested for a hot caramel macchiato and they made it into a frap. The staff here is really nice so if they did make a mistake with your order they will make you a new one right away. Which is great but it causes a delay to your morning commute for work which can be frustrating. Or even worse - you find out the order is wrong at work. In these situations they still offer to make you a new drink but you would obviously have to go back. No complaints about how the coffee is made just be prepared for a bit of wait time unless you come at odd hours like afternoons or evenings. I've also used the drive thru a few times which is convenient if you're on the go but once again - expect a bit of a wait time! read more

Updating review. I raved about their drive thru last time around. It's still awesome but OMG how amazing is it that you can order through your app for this location. Is it needed? Definitely not. Is it a super sweet luxury. You betcha! The staff (most of them) are friendly, inviting, personable and not fake. When you're just rolling out of bed, this goes a long way. Better placed electrical outlets would be amazing, but now I'm just nitpicking. Oh and please stop charging for lactose free milk or soy! We shouldn't need to pay for our medical conditions. Once this happens, the elusive fifth star shall be yours. Now, the only big piece of the puzzle missing is the drive thru lineup for people that order from their phones! Yes! read more

this location is not properly functioning, it is the second time that I request a drink without ice and get half of it " New Policy by Starbucks" I was told, a friend which has stars, cards, and all of it, got refunded by Starbucks directly after complaining for the same reason, but I was not refunded or refilled as I don't have card, stars, and the lot. Just some good training or a responsible supervising manager will cure the problem, why mention of policies that don't exist? My dollars will not be going back to this place ever, one star is very generous for this Starbucks store. Most Starbucks stores are there to assist and serve you, not to invent rules to cover up for management and employee negligence. Starbucks must clear up the rule inventor in this store before he causes irreparable damages. read more

I've only been to this location a couple of times. Not as good as some of the other locations in the area. Very slow service and staff were not getting along with each other. They seem very angry. Not sure what the problem is. read more

This location is very good due to the staff working there. In fact there were two workers there that prompted me to want to write a review. Extremely genuine folks. My orders are always right and quick. Even when there is a long line at the drive through it goes very fast so you are in and out in minutes. read more

Since my last review, the issue of not keeping a timer on the coffee has been rectified, and I haven't had any issues since. The area manager contacted me, addressed my concerns, and also gave me a Starbucks gift card (demonstrates the high level of customer service). I visit this location often. I always receive amazing service from the baristas. Unlike most Starbucks coffee houses, I can actually find a seat at this location and don't have to wait for a person to remove their stuff from empty chairs. Of course, the minor issue is the WIFI reception. It is either weak or non-existent. Frustrating!! read more
