She said it was one of the best breakfast places she ever found so I was all about giving it a go myself. I had the huevos rancheros with cup of coffee. For a side I got fried potatoes. Nice place in downtown Sylva. Street parking right in front and available sat immediately upon arrival. Didn't have to wait long for food to come either. I enjoyed my meal and my wife got a biscuit and gravy and shared it with me and it was awesome as well. Lucy's is my new breakfast spot when visiting WCU.

They also offer pet-friendly outdoor seating, which is a great option if you're dining with your furry friend. Our waitress, Mackenzie, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly. The service was excellent from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Grit Bowl Special, Chicken & Waffles, Brioche French Toast, and fresh fruit. The chicken tasted just like my grandma's recipe. It was crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their spicy hot honey. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The coffee bar was another highlight! They offer so many specialty drink options, including hot chocolate topped with homemade whipped cream. And don't skip the fresh-squeezed orange juice, it was some of the best we've ever had! What really made this place stand out for our family was how kid-friendly it is. The kids got to draw pictures while we ate, and afterward they were able to hang their artwork in the hallway for everyone to see. They absolutely loved it! There's also a large lounge area in the back with cozy seating and games like Shut the Box and chess, making it a great place to relax while waiting for a table or after your meal. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast, outstanding service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, Lucy in the Rye is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it!

It's been their spot since 1926 and I'm not sure it's been cleaned since. The food was ok, but not delicious. The ladies room was so filthy that when I opened the door - I turned around and walked right back out of it trying not to touch anything. Good coffee & good service, but the toast was stale, only 1 kind of jam, flavorless hash browns, flat omelette. My husband got 2 eggs - cooked correctly - but also flavorless. (They didn't use any seasoning on anything, not even salt & pepper.) He said the sausage was ok, as was the sausage gravy. I got a Philly cheesesteak omelette (ok but not great) and asked for my hash browns we'll-done. They overdid the outside but the potatoes were uncooked & flavorless in the middle. This place belongs to the locals, save yourself and let them have it.
