As a part of Gallerian on Hamngatan, this branch of Starbucks which can be entered through street level is probably the largest Starbucks store in Stockholm, it's huge with seating going all around the floor with even an upstairs (two or three steps) and outdoor seating around the back.
The first thing I noticed about the store other than its' size was the confusing counter layout, the whole layout seemed to be reversed compared to most other stores, and the fact the counter seemed to split off in both directions made it confusing as to where to queue - I originally waited for the wrong way until I noticed a queue had built up on the other side, after letting the staff member know she told me to go to the other side which I felt was unfair - due to the language barrier and my thirst for coffee, I reluctantly accepted this.
I did find the staff were pretty slow in taking orders and were a little rude too, sadly I've found this common at many Starbucks locations in Stockholm, which is franchised under SSP so don't accept Starbucks cards.
My drink cost around £1 more when converted to what it would have done in the UK, costing 59 krona for my Venti Iced Pumpkin Cold Foam Macchiato. My drink quality wasn't great, it looked nothing like the photo and it was layered with far too much pumpkin which overpowered the taste of the espresso and even stirring it together didn't help - the creaminess from the cold foam just wasn't there either which was a real shame, it tasted like a totally different drink compared to the same beverage I'd ordered a day prior to this visit at their Taby Centrum location, which is by far the best Starbucks location in Sweden based on the half a dozen or so I've visited so far during my Scandanavian Adventure.
2* - Even though it is pricey it is a much-needed location in the area and it is such a big location meaning you're pretty much guaranteed a seat which at the prices they charge, among the most expensive Starbucks' I've seen in Europe - that is surely what you want. read more
