I had the best interaction with a Starbucks employee that I have ever had. They always ask, did our employee make an effort to get to know you? Jeffrey certainly did. There was a bit of a wait for my cheese danish and he struck up a conversation at the drive up window. Asked me about my day, what plans I had, where I worked. He was absolutely lovely! He was the kindest, most genuine Starbucks employee I have ever encountered. So much that if he was single, and I'm not sure that he was, I would totally introduce him to my daughter! Was really disappointed in my experience today - tried to order a cold brew with cold foam and I asked them to add caramel, and cream and sugar. The woman taking my order let me know in an annoyed tone that the "caramel is sugar" and she supposed she could add more if I really wanted it. Due to her tone and judgment, I ordered it with just caramel and cream - and it ended up being too bitter and tasted like there wasn't any caramel in it. Which is why I wanted the extra sugar, with my large coffee. ??? I think I know what I'm ordering. This is a huge Starbucks with lots of seating options. Same menu as everywhere else. It does have a drive-thru and it is a "real" Starbucks, as opposed to this "Starbucks" residing in a Target. If you like noise and country music turned up loud, really loud, then this Starbucks is for you. However, if you are looking for a place to enjoy your coffee, have a conversation where you are not shouting to your friends so they can hear you, or if you want quiet study time or to read a book, this is probably not the place. read more

This is my go to starbucks since it is close to where I work. I normally go through the drive-thru and the staff is always extremely friendly. My drinks are always on point at this location compared to some of the other locations in the area. I normally order the fall seasonal salted caramel mocha hot, but during the off-season they just don't carry the seasalt but you can still ask for it. I ask for only 1.5 pumps of the flavoring otherwise it's too much for me. The only downfall for using this drive-thru is once you are in line there's no way to get out of line, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time if you're trying to make it to work in the morning! read more

I recently visited with a friend from out of town, we were greeted and spoke to a very friendly employee at the ordering screen but she seemed to be working with another girl once I arrived at the window. This girl was wearing a name tag that said Alyssa on it. One of my drinks was customized as extra Carmel drizzle and my friend felt it was the same amount that I received in my customized drink, when Alyssa took the drink back she proceeded to squeeze an obnoxious amount of Carmel drizzle into my friends drink filling 1/4 of the cup with Carmel. After biting my tongue and driving off my friend noticed that we received the wrong sandwiches. At this point I was so fed up I had to go back and at least get the sandwiches i thought I paid for just for ALYSSA to argue that I didn't receive the wrong sandwich. When I explained that I asked for the TOMATO and mozzarella focaccia and not the egg and mozzarella sandwich She told me I was charged for 2 of the egg ones. so not only did my friend receive a little bit of coffee with her Carmel because she was simply too high maintenance for asking for what she paid for, but I payed for 2 sandwiches that are a higher price than the sandwich I really wanted. 1/5 stars- terrible customer service. really disappointed with the Midwest customer service I've received driving through Wisconsin and Illinois area but this takes the cake. My favorite Starbucks in Rockford. Whether I stop here in the morning before work, or in the evening for a pick-me-up the staff are the nicest here, and always make my drink right! I've been to several Starbucks stores in the area and this is the only one that is continuously on point making drinks. The lines go by fast, especially the drive-thru. I enjoy working from this Starbucks. They have a clean and large space and their staff is extremely well trained. However, being next to rock valley college provides for large packs of 18-20 year old groups at random points in the day. It's distracting while trying to work and having to stop to listen to a story about how the teacher reprimanded a fellow student because of selling drugs and wondering why their tuition money doesn't allow them to waive this one mistake. read more

They're super friendly and accommodating and are not hesitant to fix an order even if it's just slightly off. The drive thru is very fast and has never had any set backs for me. It seems every time I visit this Starbucks, the service is mediocre at best. When going to the drive-up and ordering a hot latte and turkey breakfast sandwich the server gave me my coffee with no cardboard sleeve, even though it was hot, and the sandwich with no napkins. If you are in a hurry there is no way to leave the line which kinda stinks. As many have pointed out, this was the best Starbucks in town 6 months ago. The staff was friendly, very efficient and the entire place felt like a neighborhood coffee shop. Exactly what Howard Shultz intended. Now after their remodel they are less focused on the customer in the store, much less efficient and sadly much less personal. The redesign of the workspace is tight, limiting workflow and focused almost entirely on churning drive through orders. I'll still go here, the manager is great, but now my must have neighborhood coffee experience, is more like a fast food impersonal experience that shows a trade off for drive through orders at the expense of loyal customers who, for the past 5 yrs, have parked, walked in and enjoyed a better than average cafe experience. read more

This Starbucks is hit or miss when it comes to service and drink quality. They experience a very high employee turn over rate. I never know when I go here if my order will be made correctly. When I order light ice I get more ice, and when I order no lemonade in my refresher, they put lemonade in it. Yesterday morning I waited in the drive-thru for 15 minutes and had them screw up my drink twice in a row. First time it was the wrong size, and the second time it had had cinnamon dusted on the top (never ordered cinnamon) and caramel dripping down the sides of the cup. I normally would have cleaned it off myself (not that I should have to) but I was given zero napkins. Some of the employees are nice, but most I find are rude. I don't understand what it so difficult about making a drink and serving it to someone correctly. read more

Normally when you see 3 people standing around for 10 minutes longer than 5 other orders, and at least 5 drive thus, you give better customer service than the barista working saturday at 1:30. You certainly apologize for the fact that you forgot,misplaced, or lost our order. You certainly listen completely when the nice lady tells you exactly what her order was or, try to find the order, so you may have a customer pleased. Not this guy..you don't listen, cut off the nice lady in mid sentence, make the wrong drinks, and then you make the lady feel like an ass for telling you it is wrong, when it was your error..You then respond with "you didn't say that", dump out the drinks, and give attitude to the nice lady that didn't make a scene originally to your lack of customer service. Whats worse is you have no problem doing this in front of a room full of customers..Way to go guy..you lose 3 customers, and you are jackass. read more

Do not stop if there is more than one else car in the drive through!! You will wait forever and you can't get out of the drive through line!! I'm in line now, going on 15 minutes...I just ordered. There were only 5 cars in line NOT around the building. I could see every car in front of me. This one is always slow. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves today. They failed. Last time we went inside, waited over 20 minutes and they were hardly busy. I was waiting inside that time for my order. I could see they had no clue what they were doing. The lady in front of me got half of her order then I got one of mine, then she got her half etc. I'm still in line. Still 1 car in front of me. This is going on 23 minutes now!!!!! read more

This is comparably the best Starbucks in Rockford along with the one at the intersection of Bell School/E State St. The staff has changed recently and there are some very poor quality workers there now. I've been to this location before and had a really great experience. My experience yesterday was disappointing. I was purchasing the Illinois Starbucks cup at this location. I only found one and I decided to purchase it. I noticed it was a bit sticky, but didn't think much about it. However after being at another location where the cashier went out of his way to get me a cup that wasn't their display cup, I think I was a bit disappointed that the cashier at this location didn't also do that. However, I'm not really letting that experience affect my review. I was just disappointed in the service and the coffee. The cashier wasn't very friendly. He didn't notice me standing there until another employee said "hi" to me. He quickly made my coffee and I headed out the door. I was very disappointed to discover that my coffee was barely warm when I took a sip. I was nearing the end of a roadtrip and didn't have the patience to go back in and have them make a better one. I've been to a lot of Starbucks all over the country and I think this was possible the only time I've ever received coffee that cool before. read more
