A place that gets packed at breakfast. That's no surprise because nowhere else in town opens as early. Crowded but we found a table at breakfast. It's mostly a place to get coffee and baked goods. The menu is bigger than it seems. Also has things at lunch. There's quite a lot to look through. It's about $4 for a coffee. The one I got was the Samoa Mocha. Get it cold or hot. This is made with caramel, coconut cream, and mocha. It's about $2 for baked items. They had vegan chocolate chip cookies from a local bakery, along with the usual things like croissants and muffins. Going here might be a challenge. It's busy and there's limited hours. They're closed Sundays and Mondays, only open for breakfast and lunch, and they close earlier Saturdays.

The shop owner asked me if I was from around here and when I said I was from Oklahoma, he told me about his trip down Route 66. Eventually, I told him I was a poet doing shows in the area and he got on the computer right then and ordered my books for the store! I snagged a book while I was there and left with my morning dose of small town charm. FYI, Dixon is Ronald Reagon's hometown + has a really pretty arch going into downtown. I usually ask for a shot of dark chocolate syrup to make it a chocolate chai, so I did for this occasion. The barista made as requested, however, she did give me a heads up that their chai is unique and might not go well with chocolate. She did offer to remake it without the chocolate if I didn't like it. I do taste the difference, but was fine with it as is. If we stop in here again, I will try it without the chocolate because I want to experience the full chai flavor. Jim was going to order their Mufawar specialty coffee, but got sidetracked by the seasonal offerings. He had the salted brown butter latte instead.
