Coffee Beanery in Owings Mills is my daily go‑to spot -- truly my favorite takeout place ever --…read moreand the reason is simple: Farouk and his incredible team. Every day, I order my caramel crunch swirl drink with whipped cream and an extra shot of espresso, plus both a mango smoothie and a strawberry‑banana smoothie. Their drinks are exceptional -- and their smoothies are honestly the best I've ever had anywhere. I recognized Farouk the very first day I walked in, even before I knew why. He used to serve me at Rita's across the street, and he's one of those rare lights of a human you never forget -- not because of what they say, but because of how they make you feel. When he looked up and said, "How are you, my friend? I used to serve you at Rita's!" everything clicked. He remembers my name. He remembers my complicated daily order to the letter. He greets me with warmth every single time -- even when I walk in two minutes before closing. And unlike so many places these days, he never shows irritation or rushes me. He makes me feel valued. One night, I accidentally called 30 minutes after they had already closed -- and Farouk still answered the phone, cheerfully, by name, and took my order anyway. Only after confirming it would be ready did he gently mention their Sunday hours. He still insisted I come pick it up. That kind of customer service is almost unheard of today. There's also Yani, who is shy but incredibly talented. She listens with her whole heart and makes drinks that feel like little works of art. She puts genuine care into every cup. And the kindness doesn't stop there. I've been surprised with freebie drinks when there was extra smoothie mix, offered a mistaken drink for free, and even had two drinks remade after I dropped them in the parking lot. Farouk saw it happen, took the empty cups from my hands, and recreated them without hesitation. Moments like these create customers for life. Coffee Beanery deserves a solid 5 stars across every platform. ---

The peach cobbler roll was a great seasonal take on a classic pastry and not overly sweet for a cinnamon roll. The cookie dough croissant is RICH, I couldn't finish one, but it was perfect for sharing. Not pictured are banana bread iced lattes which were delicious, but I would probably ask for extra syrup next time as the banana bread flavor was pretty subtle compared to how well flavored their other drinks are. Service was quick and efficient but some tips for first timers: there's a menu board for drinks out where the line is, but the pastry menu is only available once you're at the counter. And the pastries are on a rack, so you won't be able to view and decide ahead of time. I had done a few Uber deliveries to my job from here, but one morning I decided to walk in and check the place out for myself. That visit turned into the first of many. The next time I came in, Mrs. Terri welcomed me back, remembered me, and called me by name--"Sherrie!" While I waited for my order, she told me to pour myself a drink of my choice, and we chatted with another patron who was also waiting for their food. I absolutely LOVE a place where you walk in and the owners and staff make you feel welcomed, appreciated, and genuinely cared for--with kind words and a smile. And let me tell you... I have already fallen IN LOVE with the Greek salad wrap! I always ask for extra olives, and today Mrs. Terri said, "Oh, it is Pené!" So apparently, that's the name Mrs. Terri prefers to call me now! LOL. I work in the business park, so Mrs. Terri's Cafe has officially become my go-to spot for a good breakfast or lunch. What makes this place special isn't just the food--it's the atmosphere, the kindness, and the feeling you get when you walk through the door. I walked in as a customer, but I left as a friend. Terri's Cafe is situated in an area you'd likely least expect it. And don't let Google Drive bc it took us to the back side which is very industrial loading zone-y! Apple Maps had us move around the building and lo and behold Terri's is indeed there and open! We walked into a very clean and organized little cafe with a bright shining smile behind the counter. Terri herself greeted us and welcomed us in. She showed us the ropes and we ordered at the counter before we decided on a place to sit. While we waited for our order Terri brought us two fresh cookies (YUM!!) and all the fixings for our breakfast. We ordered the Southwest Omelet and French Toast. Let me just say you can't go wrong with either option! Terri ensured every aspect of our meal was perfect, and as someone who eats at restaurants all over the country and is a French toast enthusiast, Terri's food is perfect. The thick French Bread was a perfect carrier for her French toast. The thick slices caused us to pause because the last several places had thick toast that ended up tasting like plain bread. Terri's French toast does not fall flat! It holds the flavors you want with French toast, is soft and fluffy, and oh so delicious! The omelette was also delicious with large pieces of bacon, beautiful avocado, and a nice sauté on the vegetables. The best part of Terri's was hands down the service, they know your name, they ask you questions, and absolutely welcome you into the family when you step in these doors. I'd absolutely stop by Terri's again any time I was in the area. This is a restaurant that should be supported by locals and tourists alike! Everyone deserves a meal at Terri's! Also snagged a bite of funnel cake French fries on our way out the door... holy smokes those were delicious!! I love me some funnel cake!
