There are only 2 locations in BC and many more locations in Alberta. Tim beats Second Cup in Alberta and it was funny when googling, I didn't realized the number of Second Cups in Alberta. I was in Alberta for 6 months and have never seen a Second Cup or maybe I wasn't paying attention. Yes Second Cup is a Canadian company and at one point Starbucks talked about buying them out. Guess that never happened. I preferred their competitor drinks over them due to the location and the available options. Their coffee is ok and like I said not wow. The bright thing about this cafe is the place is very clean. Also it is a great location to have a quick conversation with someone here. It never gets too loud compared to the other coffee shops. Also the place is very sound proof.

The Chai Latte is what we always get at this chain and it did not disappoint. You have to try this! We were able to sit at a table inside for a bit and enjoy our drink. Oh boy - it is next to a chocolate shop too! Ack! There are many other food choices in this Center too if you wanted to grab your coffee here and then lunch nearby. There were even benches outside in a cute area with a lot of greenery. Great location in central Vancouver.

Thankfully, even though I live close by, it's not convenient to visit this location so I save a ton…read moreof money. However, let me explain why! I will also briefly point out what they do well. Let's start with the good: friendly staff, well organized location and they've never gotten my order wrong. They generally have everything a Toronto Starbucks offers and lots of space to sit/stand/wait. Now, the downsides to this location: avoid before/after school and lunch time. Heavily visited by the students from the 2 major high schools in the area. Also, you can only access the parking lot while driving north on Avenue. Turning left off of Lawrence? Not fun and then you have to cross two lanes of traffic. Turning right off Lawrence? Easier but not particularly convenient. Traveling south? Just find a different location. Then the parking lot is not user friendly! Limited spots, can't turn around easily and there are massive cement blocks in the way. There is some additional parking at Shoppers but they don't like people parking if you aren't shopping there. Final thoughts: typical Starbucks but very low in the convenience category.

Unfortunately, we had been getting progressively bad service and we stopped frequenting it altogether. The last straw was when we ordered a couple of drinks through mobile order and waited a long time as they made drinks for new walk ins before us. This was strange to me since i didnt even complain at the time, im guessing he knew we were there for a while. At this point i asked for a refund and we got our drinks elsewhere.

I guess I'm just a grumpy old man, but I wasn't impressed by the hordes of high school kids (both inside and out) being loud, taking up seats and generally not buying anything. Case in point -- in the back room, there were about 10 kids, 1 playing video games, another talking on speaker phone -- why is this a thing now? It seems like everyone has their earbuds in all the time, EXCEPT when they're talking on the phone, that's when earbuds no longer work and speaker is required. And 9 of the 10 are drinking WATER. You lost at least two paying customers in the minute I was there -- me and another guy who took a quick look then did a 180. Who knows how many other paying customers you lost.
