After several Google services, I came across Dotty's website, it is well put together and really grabbed my attention Seeing Dotty's in real life was like a dream. The establishment is beautifully decorated and you can tell the owner really invested in the place and the people who work there. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. They also sell other assorted desserts, shakes and cakes All the employees were attentive, they explained in detail what our package came with and they made sure we were happy from start to finish. EVERYTHING was delicious! From the English tea down to the Pimms jello HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10!!

I stumbled on the listing while doing a search for tea places before I left Washington, DC to travel to London. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!

So that is why I have just dragged my weary legs off to Hampton Court Sandwich and Coffee Company, and inhaled a piping hot parma ham and mozzarella panini which was the culinary equivalent of a defibrillator bringing me back to life. I like coming here because the paninis are marginally cheaper than the other sandwich shops. I also occasionally treat myself to the brownies here - large gooey, sticky slices of dense dark chocolate heaven. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and like the other coffee shops in this road, this is a stones throw from Hampton Court palace, so a perfect place to recharge your batteries.

The staff greeting us quickly and the toasted sandwiches here were awesome! Generally, I don't see much difference between a toasted sandwich at a deli and one I can make myself with my generic ex-boxer-branded grilling machine. Maybe it was the panini, maybe it was the feel of the deli with its wooden floors and health and rural vibe. Maybe it was the healthy fruit smoothie made on sight. Whatever it was, I ended up really enjoying my experience here and will be back if ever passing through again. Aside from the food we had, this establishment also has a very organic looking deli for fruit and veg which has a feel of an authentic farmers market. We didn't purchase anything as I wasn't in the market for vegetables at the time but it is a neat extra feature that will attract customers.

The salads and veg are freshly prepared using local ingredients and are of a very high quality. The kebabs are cooked on open charcoal (yes real charcoal fires) and you can taste. Its delicious. The shawarmas are fresh and hand created and instead of the standard elephant leg of nondescript meat, you get exceptionally tasty chicken or lamb. For me the freshness of the herbs, hand made humus, quality meat and cooking over charcoal make this place a must try. Only reason for 4 stars is that on occasion when it gets busy as there can sometimes only be one person serving you can wait quite awhile to get the food. I appreciate that they only have rushes on occasion so it doesnt make sense having 2 people. I still frequent this place as a local and think its the best food in the high street. Keep it up!

When contacting the owner of the establishment he was in denial and did not want to discuss matters and was quite unhelpful and rude. Explained to him the detrimental risks of having this establishment do nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19 between the workers and how easy it can be to spread this to the public, when contacting the manager of the shop, I was told that they're following the 2 meters and keeping back to back work, the shop is very small and thus following those to guidelines does nothing to protect the employees if they're not wearing face coverings. A face covering will further protect employees a simple cough could mean an outbreak in that area, according to the owner nothing wrong with the things he does after explaining to him the risks and is wilfully happy to allow its employees and the public to be on risk on his ignorance. It is devastatingly unfair that many businesses loose their livelihood due and some close down and suffer enormous loss, when establishments like this get to operate and profit while other businesses who might be deemed much safer, are shut down due to lockdown. Establishments have been closed down to stop the spread and this establishment is allowed to operate while allowing its employees to be at risk every day that they're open. This shop should be shut down if it allows those risks to happen.

I have long debated whether I should give this new café in Crouch End four or only three…read morestars...for now I have settled on three stars. Please let me elaborate my reasoning here: Having walked by this new place a few weeks ago, I was thrilled to see an independent coffee shop opening here. The mental note "to come back" was quickly made and yesterday I finally managed to return and try out their coffee... Let me say: I really like what they've done to this place. In fact, decor-wise I would give this place five stars; I especially like their wallpaper with the colourfully birds painted on it (see picture). Also, they have a cute little area in the back where a small group of people can have a lovely chat. So, where did they lose the stars? -Well, given that the decor was all tailored to make me feel at home, I didn't feel like it...and that has mostly to do with the fact, that the staff just wasn't very "warm". Don't get me wrong, nobody was unfriendly, but they were just very reserved...no smile, no "how are you doing?". And I just need that... Also, another reason, why they lost yet another star, was that they don't have free wifi. In fact, when I first saw this place I thought I might have found a good substitute to Starbucks...which I only frequent because they offer wifi at no cost, but... Nevertheless, I am willing to come back in due time and have yet another coffee, as this was actually quite delicious!
So after nearly 2 months of life in N8, numerous lattes and loaves of artisan bread later, I am…read moreready to give my award for the best cafe in crouch end to, coffee circus. I expect the reason is less to do with the coffee it serves and more due to the fantastic atmosphere inside. Think cosy unique decor, excellent brunch menu, charming baristas (it is like being on holiday in the med) and customers reading books instead of glued to their Smartphone's. Firstly the menu, like everyone else in there I went for the eggs Benedict with salmon which were divine. Eggs cooked to perfection on a beautiful English muffin and excellent quality salmon. If eggs aren't your thing they serve salads, sandwiches, soups and for comfort food at its best go for the amazing chunky French toast oozing with syrup. As others have noted this place is serious about the coffee so much so that customers were queuing out the door for it. If like myself your coffee palette is less refined, yes you can tell the difference between espresso and Nescafe but any further and you are out of your depth ,the staff are very helpful in giving recommendations of what to try. My mocha had a really deep, smooth flavour and definitely preferred it to any of the chain coffee shop equivalent. The food menu is just the type of thing you would want from a cafe of this size, think filled croissants. Eggs Benedict cooked to perfection and delicious thick cut French toast oozing with syrup. So if you are looking for friendly staff serving great food and coffee, in a charming environment, then coffee circus is worth the trip. Like the other yelpers I did miss the free wifi, but I don't think coffee circus would have the same charm if everyone was working away on their MacBoooks!
