Starbucks at Leeds Skelton Lake is an excellent branch for a motorway services location, located by the entrance of Extra Leeds Skelton Lake MSA, it has both indoor and outdoor seating, it impressed me for a number of reasons
1. The staff
They seem to genuinely care, they were happy to carry drinks to my table for me, they seemed really friendly and made my drinks with care
2. Overall look/feel of the store
Being inside the new Leeds Skelton Lake services, the store still looks and feels new, it has a small selection of seating which is currently out of use due to COVID-19 and government guidelines, but as of the time of writing (25/12/20), there is still outdoor seating and communal seating in the main atrium, as motorway service stations are exempt from the government tier legislation.
3. Beverage Quality
My drink tasted good, it was made with care and it looked good too, I like how they had gingerbread cream, my past few visits to service stations have seen them run out of it, as it takes time to make, it can't be made to order, but they had it ready and it enhanced my beverage.
My main problem with the store is, like any franchise location the price, it is rather expensive with my drink costing £4.75 for a Venti Iced Gingerbread latte, this is an increase of £0.35 (just under 8%) to a regular store, and up to 15% cheaper than other franchise locations, located outside of an MSA.
Overall, this is a great place to grab a coffee while visiting the stunning lakes, or passing through on the M1. For a motorway service location, this is relaxing and the coffee/service is good too, so it is nice other than the price. 4* read more
