Approaching this Starbucks in Lake O from the parking lot it shares with a health food supermarket (not my thing).
Robert G.

Along with the other Starbucks on OR-43, this one is instead squarely in Lake O, right across from the funky State Theater, not far from the lake itself, not far from the quaint historic village, and in a shopping center along State Street that has enough parking because it is shared with other merchants. Pull on in! This isn't a historic building, but it does look like it belongs in the English countryside ... sort of. It looks like a big country house. And, once you go inside, you'll see how homey it is, even though I don't think homies are found in Lake Oswego. It's not as comfortable and spacious as the store I reviewed in (north) West Linn, but the service was more on point. There, I said it. I also believe that, consistent with other places along this roadway, they might not stay open as late in the evenings. Their offerings are standard and reliable. The service was friendly. The atmosphere is great. And, with not as high of a Stepford quotient as I would have imagined, there was some interesting diversity. Obviously, some people were employees in the area, some were picking up something to eat and drink while motoring through, some were studying, but the icing on the cake was a somewhat animated discussion by a few ladies speaking their multisyllabic and melodious Japanese and having a few good chuckles. Good stuff. Part of the coffeehouse formula is people watching, am I right? This Starbucks in Lake O is not a run of the mill 3 star Starbucks. In my mind, it's definitely a 4 star Starbucks, but then tony Lake O is not a 3 star sort of place. If in this area and in need of a caffeine fix and/or a homey place for a hot beverage, this store is recommended.

At 6:30 am, Starbucks team working early is really, really nice. Never had an issue with my order or rude staff.

First time here - was some of the best food I've eaten…read more For ages, I've been curious about quiches and I'm so glad that I waited for the courgette quiche here. It was so wonderfully fluffy with beautifully layered zucchini and puff pastry. The accompanying salad and dressing were mind blowing too - I'm not one who likes dressing with her salad but I could have gobbled up a container of that. Husband ordered the French onion soup which is some of the best he has ever had. It came layered with a thick layer of Gruyère and that is now his favorite way to eat French onion soup. He also got the Mont Blanc which was amazing - perhaps too big to be stacked on top of each other. He did comment it would be better if the components were separate - but he did enjoy that nonetheless. We got the chai ginger cider which was amazing - not much chai but wonderfully spiced cider. Also got macarons to go which I'm so excited to try.

The zucchini was artfully layered in the quiche. The baguette was a revelation! I was shocked by how delicately crisp the outside was while the inside was soft and delicious. It was the best baguette I've ever had, including in France. The desserts are always fun to try and so visually stunning. This place is a gem!

All four sandwiches were really tasty from the bottom tier, the middle tier was probably my least favorite, the top tier had all the sweet treats. They also offer a children's tea service which had a lot of great options. The tea was fantastic (we ordered the Darling Darjeeling), but I wish we could have gotten one tea pot per adult instead of sharing one with the tea service. My daughter loved her apple and honey tea. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and they offered hot water refills more than once which was nice. The tea room was chic and very clean. Location was a little hard to find. Waze and Google Maps took me to the back parking lot, but the signage was on the street side of the building.

They have a beautiful garden out front and they harvest the herbs and produce they grow there for their menu items. We got to try two recommended teas, the Darling Darjeeling and Moonlight Juhi. Both were delightful and full-bodied with the subtle florals complimenting each of the teas. I really enjoyed all the sandwiches and sweets that came as part of the tea set. The staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable as they described each of the food as well as the teas to us. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking to spend a lovely time celebrating something special!

The mango flavor was kind of subtle, but the drink still had good flavor. The service was good, the baristas were kind and gave some good drink recs and the ambiance was nice! It's not a very big place, so there's limited seating but it is very clean and there's a small claw machine and some cute trinkets they sell at the front that kids would like! I've been to quite a few boba places in the Portland area and I think this price point is pretty average and worth a trip if you're in the area! I do think there are better boba places closer to Portland downtown but I think Monster Tea is the best I've tried so far in the Lake Oswego area! I'll definitely be back to try other flavors

Good creative tea | casual, quick, fun…read more This is not my favorite boba tea stop, but it is a good place to grab boba when I'm in the area. They don't have an extensive menu, so I don't feel overwhelmed with a crazy amount of options. What stood out to me were the special themed drinks, and this time they're advertising Hello Kitty. I think they did Harry Potter before. I ordered Keroppi: matcha milk tea with pink foam. I'm particular about my matcha. I don't care for it being too sweet or too bitter but this was perfect! It's a hint of bitter and the pink foam complimented the matcha perfectly. If you like sugary sweet or fruity drinks, this may not be for you unless you ask for additional sweetness. This is perfect for my taste. My 6 yr old enjoyed the strawberry shortcake. The visual presentation was nice as you can see the swirl. I also ate their last spam musubi. The spam was nicely cooked to have a bit of a crisp on top. I didn't try their waffle, but it looks like the musubi is popular. Cute little quick stop with just enough room to wait for your order. They have a claw machine ($1) that, in my opinion, doesn't grip the plushie prizes well. You're better off paying $6 for the tiny version of the bigger plushie prizes at the cashier area. Staff were pleasant but not overly helpful with offering suggestions and navigating the menu. It feels like it is run by young high school to college kids catering to IG folks and a young, hip demographic.

I ordered three different savory kolaches, and being from Texas I was wondering if they'd hold up. The OG is almost exactly the same, it's got a slightly different texture and the breading is less flaky than what I usually get at home, but it's still very good. The Bacon Me Happy was also super good, it's not like the usual savory kolaches back home but it was very tasty. The Happy Bird uses turkey sausage, which is good for anyone who wants less red meat in their diet, and I liked the cheese a lot. One more difference between these and the ones back home is these are less rectangular, which I think is closer to the original recipe than the ones I'm used to having.

Quiche were warmed up with a little side salad; coffee was very nice (as i ordered a second cup). Tart was excellent as well. Staff were professional. Only drawback is the limited seating inside (though they had outdoor seats it was raining) AND to make things worse you often had the one person occupying a table for four spreading out their laptop and books and whatnot--along with one empty coffee cup where they are still nursing its fumes. Oh and that whip...you gotta have it w the chouquettes. W the lightly sweetened, lovely soft bite of a shell, it's the best vehicle to dip the whip. Usually my fave is the St. H out of these 3 but today the caramel on the cream puffs was a bit too thick and hard to eat vs the thin delicate layer i'm used to.
