I parked, I ordered, I walked inside, my sandwich and cappuccino were ready in one minute. That was the fastest service I've ever had at a Starbucks. Awesome job!! The inside of this Starbucks is always very clean. There's plenty of seats inside and outside, but based on its proximity to UCSD, it gets super busy in the afternoon. The parking lot is shared with Chipotle, Trader Joe's, and Ralph's so it's also normally packed unless you come early. read more

I usually place large coffee orders, and the team does an amazing job working together to get everything right. I also love that when it gets busy (sometimes to due my multiple coffee orders), they'll open another register to ring up other customers so the line doesn't get overwhelming--something many other locations don't do, and it makes such a difference. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and always goes the extra mile. Truly an elite Starbucks team! Just asked for a water, and one if the ugly barista chicks went out of her way to be rude and embarrass me in front of everyone by saying water is only for people who purchase an item in front of everybody. I totally understand that but all I ask is to have a little bit of class and some tact when talking to your guests. I was here back in June. I stopped in here for a drink after catching a matinee showing over at the nearby AMC movie theater. Per the usual, I placed my drink order on their mobile app. The current setup inside basically discourages people from hanging out inside. You get your drink and you leave. A couple days ago, my app, once again, sent my mobile order to the wrong location. I swear I selected this location, but, unfortunately, the app had other ideas. I was frustrated, to say the least, when I showed up here and my order was nowhere to be found. Omgggg it's so nice and air conditioned in here !! Plus service was swift , kind , and efficient . They're located on top floor by Trader Joe's and relax back store . Not a ton of inside seating so I'm sure the college crowds keep this place packed . There's outdoor patio seating which is dog friendly . Girl making coffee wasn't as pleasant but oh well ! Craving for an Ultra Caramel Frappuccino. Asked Ruben, "What's the difference between the Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and the Caramel Crunch Frappuccino?" He explained to me the Ultra Crunch has a little crunch atop the cold brew whipped cream. Had a pleasant interaction with Ruben. I appreciate his pleasant demeanor and smile. He was also helpful. I ended up ordering Caramel Crunch Frappuccino. Loved it! The crunch made my drink more appealing in presentation and taste. One thing for sure, this is a very busy Starbucks, not surprising residing between Trader Joe's and Ralp's to places that see a lot of traffic already. So, no wonder this place was non stop with people coming and going. While here, I had a multigrain bagel toasted with butter and a cafe misto with a dark Italian roast. They toasted the bagel well as I asked. The only problem was the two organic butter packages were hard as a rock when they came so I had to give them some time to soften before spreading them onto the bagels. In the end, the bagels were good and the butter tasty. The cafe misto was alright. It was a little harsh, even with the 2% steamed milk. It tasted good, but I would preferred that it would of went down smoother. The staff members here were not much for conversation, but I guess they were quite busy. read more

I'm shocked I haven't reviewed this Starbucks yet. I used to come here more often back when I was a still a college student at UCSD. This Starbucks store and the one at Costa Verde are usually filled with students studying. I hadn't been back in a long time but I went a few weeks ago to get a snack for the movie theater LOL. I got an iced caramel macchiato and a ham & cheese croissant. The girl who took my order wasn't really paying attention and we were waiting for a while at the counter for my croissant, the other barista asked after about 15 min if we still needed something and I said I never got my croissant, the girl was like "Oh yeah! But at this location and meeting a Barista named Shar I had a much different experience that goes to a new level of what exceptional is to me. She was polite, when she took my order she repeated it back to me. I said light ice and she said ok. She politely asked if I wanted her to leave space for me for my cream and sugar I said yes. I asked for it on the side. I loved that she was thorough. The fact that she asked me all the right questions, good customer service. Busy location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Good spot if you're in the area, parking is the only annoying thing here. Located in a decent size strip mall with Ralphs, Trader Joes, Staples, Chipotle, Marshalls, Ross, etc... there is plenty of parking, but the area in front of Starbucks is a pretty high traffic area, so parking can be hard at times especially lunch to dinner time. All in all, still glad they have a Starbucks in the area for a quick pick me up! read more

My buddy was visiting from out of town and we wanted to get an early start on the day. We cruised over to La Jolla to grab some Jamba Juice but I entered to plaza at the wrong entrance. Since Starbucks was right in front of us, we decided to go there instead of driving to the other side of the plaza. I ordered up one of the new pumpkin spiced lattes to kick off the day. It definitely had the essence of pumpkin in there and was very sweet and refreshing. I'll probably be enjoying a buzz for the rest of the day from it. The parking lot at this Starbucks is one of the worst I've ever seen. The service is nice though, and there are plenty of dog-friendly tables outside to accommodate your pals. It's not that good a location to work from since it's kind of cramped, but it's a quick fix near campus which makes it a popular spot. It's right next to Trader Joe's too! Ordered my thrice weekly center coffee a little later than usual at around 10:30 a.m. and I was thinking of drinking blonde roast instead of Pikes Place and they told me that they ran out of blonde roast and that they would have to do a "pour over" or I would have to wait to have them brew a new pot. I'm not super picky and not going to nitpick but this has happened to me several times at other locations too. How can a coffee shop run out of coffee? That's like going to McDonalds and having them run out of burgers. Only Starbucks can get away with this. I just settled with a Pikes Place roast and went on my merry way. I came here to try out the mango pineapple creme frap. I have seen it advertised for a limited time. The line went fast. I also got a cookie dough cake pop for my daughter as usual. The inside was full of people and all the tables were filled outside. We ended up taking our drinks elsewhere because they don't have any tables available. Anyway, when I got my drink, I took a sip and I could taste a hint of the mango and then pineapple along with the creme based it had. Honestly it wasn't too sweet for me. I got a grande size. I didn't finish it because the rest melted. I plan on getting this drink again soon at another Starbucks. Hope this drink isn't seasonal like my pumpkin frap. I will have to try the berry one. The BEST starbucks ever!!! They exceed just the 5 star as they go above and beyond for how they make coffee and just make your day the Brightest with their awesome best tasting coffee. So consistent every time the best customer service, they make the BEST Frappuccinos or whatever random drink I try is just the yummiest every time. Any barista that makes my drinks here are just the sweetest, the the most amazing, I wish that every Barista at Starbucks are like them (not the reality) I wish that every Starbucks is the same with customer service or making their coffee but only in "La Jolla Village", or should every establishment of Starbucks be trained by them! This Starbucks isn't my favorite and let me tell you why. First off the parking sucks, this whole area sucks for parking. There is usually a long line and rarely a seat open if you need one. Assuming they get your drink correct they don't like to follow policy that well. When you have the Starbucks card you're supposed to get free refills on brewed coffee and while they refilled my husband's coffee, they refused to refill mine because it was decaf. I've called and confirmed several times with the 1800 Starbucks folks that is not correct and it should be fixed. Also last time I ordered an Americano they made it weak, but to their credit the guy gave me an extra shot to put in it to fix it. Overall it's not great but it could be far worse. Their bathrooms are also pretty clean so that's a plus! read more

I've came here in the mornings or around lunchtime and each trip has been fine. They have tasty breakfast sandwiches and the usual drinks for those looking for tea and coffee. This location has ample seating indoor and outdoor along with one restroom. The parking lot can get busy around lunch time to evening with people going to Ralph's, Chipotle, and Trader Joe's next door. This Starbucks location is often very busy. I can't stand the parking and there's not enough inside seating. The coffee is still good mind you, but service here is not consistent. As of late, the breakfast staff is much friendlier than their lunch staff. Today, I didn't get a single smile from the cashier (I would call him out by giving his name, but I'm not like that) and he looked annoyed when taking my order. He asked abruptly, "OK. Just what is it that you want?" Also, the barista that made my drink was yacking with a customer and didn't acknowledge that I was trying to ask her if the drink she just made was mine. Green teas turning into green tea lemonades, extra espresso shots added to the wrong drinks, and unwanted whipped cream added to iced drinks.
