Owner or manager needs to reevaluate their system. There's no reason I should be waiting 20+ minutes for one drink. If I'm in the store waiting they need to focus on making those drinks before the people who haven't arrived yet. Every other company/business has check ins and prioritizes the people currently waiting for their order. It was crowded with people and there were many drinks just sitting either getting cold or melting the ice. This ruins the quality of the drinks for the people who haven't even got there as well. No coffee is ever worth waiting that long. Nobody cared when I told them I was here for my order. They simply told me to go wait by the pick up desk. No urgency or even a glance at my order to tell me how long it would take. read more

This was a lovely way to kick off our Black Friday shopping in Kansas City. We placed our order through the app on the way to the location. We ordered his usual customized latte and I picked up a latte customized to my liking to have as we made our way through the crowds. It made for an eye opening morning, as there were a lot of people out and about on Black Friday, shopping until they dropped. Stopped back in this place after several years hiatus to see if anything had changed and it has. Some good and some bad. Totally revamped interior and much smaller than it used to be. Service was actually great and the place was spotless but I wondered why there was literally no one there hanging out. I soon found out why. If you want to know what the internet was like in the year 2000 no need to use a time machine. Just visit this place and you'll know. I thought while I enjoyed my tea and bagel I would update my laptop. First thing I notice is my Mac says it will take 3 1/2 hours to complete the download of the update. So I decided to run a speed test on their network and got a download speed of 2.5 Mbps. And that was with no other customers on it. Unbelievable. That's hands down the slowest free wifi I've ever used. I don't even know why Starbucks would bother paying an ISP for that. read more

I mean, it's a Starbucks. I have a 15 year old girl, so it is unavoidable. The staff was friendly, I like the warmed up chocolate croissant, and the drink got the job done. I feel like they used to have plates for if you eat in the Starbucks but now I can't remember. I requested one so I could enjoy my croissant but they said they don't have silverware and plates so I ate it out of the little bag. That's really my only complaint. I got the iced white chocolate mocha. Half-caff because I had already had a cup of coffee that day. Half the pumps or else it's too sweet. This place was buzzing in the morning everyone going to get their coffee before work and before school. The quiet barista brewed drinks another chatty barista poured coffees and milks. The vibe I was busy but friendly. I tried a new drink the vanilla blonde latte it's pretty good but not my fave. I introduced my middle child to a caramel macchiato she approves! I love Starbucks and I drink it almost daily! I often go to the location off of North Oak even though this one is closer to where I live. I usually do mobile order so I can get in and get out!! The last few times I have tried this location the service has not been to my expectations. The last time in particular I stood at the mobile order location without being acknowledged whatsoever, and I was the only person standing there. The staff proceeded to have personal conversations and use their cell phones while I just stood there 1 foot away. I went to the cashier...there was no line, and asked for my mobile order. I was then told I had to go back to where I had been standing to get it. I only give this 3 stars because my coffee was made correctly and tasted great. The service here needs work! read more

We stopped in for a quick cup of coffee. We were enjoying it until a woman I assume was manager reamed one of the employees who just arrived for her mask slipping. It was unprofessional the way she humiliated her in front of patrons and co-workers. The bad vibes killed my morning and left a bad taste in my mouth that I couldn't kill with my coffee. May have done in this bird lol. She was so concerned about germs she snapped at a co-worker, but emptied the trash, didn't wash her hands and proceeded to touch all the coffee equipment. read more

I was there at 5:30am and the team of three employees were very pleasant and friendly upon taking my order (besides the fact that I might have still been sleepy/grumpy). The space is great and big, with big long tables accommodating people working on projects or reading the newspaper. There were tables by the window as well for those nature-lovers. Better Starbucks than most in KC area. Usually can find seating, which is a good thing. But not usually the seating I want. However, I figure this is due to it's a more popular Starbucks (and really the only one in that specific area). The place can be loud at times due to the associates themselves so I usually bring noise cancelling headphones. The quality is consistent. You'd think that would be a given but I haven't always found that to be true, even for a chain such as Starbucks. But if you like how your coffee tastes here, you're pretty sure to get it that way each time. And they are awesome about helping you customize it to however you want it. They have amazing patience for that. At least that's been my experience. They are fairly fast. Some might disagree, especially as they have no drive-thru to deal with. But I normally am pretty happy with the customer service, including speed, at this store. If I could change something? It would be the seating and atmosphere. But without buying the place next door, there's no way to change that. They have already maximized the seating pretty well for the space that they have. The atmosphere could be more chill but it's a pretty busy place so doubt that could be achieved. Overall four stars as it's a favorite of mine. read more

I would probably frequent this location if I lived nearby. We were driving home from the airport and needed coffee so we popped in. The set up at this location is one of the best I have seen. It is alive and happening where you order but both sides of the cafe are quaint and quiet. The south side has some big cozy chairs and a small bar section if you want to watch your baristas work their magic. The north side houses the "work" area. There are a few tables and chairs then the restrooms. The set up almost reminds me of a Panera. As someone that works from coffee shops I appreciated this set up. Drinks were strong, smooth and consistent. Isn't' that why we all go or fall back on Starbucks in a new territory. However unlike most Starbucks I have been in, they seemed frazzled and not "its a busy day" frazzled, they genuinely seemed stressed. I know it isn't an easy job but Starbucks baristas could be going through the worst thing ever yet they never seem like it. They always have smiles and always act like they have been waiting for you to come in to take your order. read more

The benefit to going to a Starbucks when you are out of town is there is supposed to be consistency in both drink and service. My experience at this location lacked both of that. My main complaint is how rude the barista was. He made snarky comments to a few different people when their drinks weren't made correctly. And when I asked for my mobile order of (4) items, he handed me (2) items. I then mentioned I had a fourth item - he said "I know. Believe it or not - I actually have a list back here that tells me what you order." There is no need for that type of response. Additionally, my drink was not made correctly - but I had an appointment keep and I was not able risk missing my appointment for him to give additional attitude and remake my drink. read more

First off. We're just talking about coffee and a muffin, not life and death. I've had a few good trips here except it's the slowest service I've seen. Next to last trip I ordered the Breakfast Muffin and they packaged up a bland swirl of bread. ( that I later found out is called a Morning Bun). Big difference. The muffin has pumpkin seeds, raisins and it's a MUFFIN. The Breakfast Bun is a tasteless circle of hate. So on my next visit I ordered the Breakfast Muffin and said, " Do you have a thing called a Breakfast Bun?" I swear, that's all I said. The sour barista behind the counter said, "Yeah, Sometimes it happens", predicting my issue. Joking to lighten the air I said it nearly ruined my whole life. Still with her back and side to me the barista ignored me and said nothing. Taken aback and waiting a few seconds I finally said "hey what you just said was kinda-of rude". She quickly turned around and looked at me and shoving my muffin in the bag said "well, I was going to give this to you for free." And I said "no I don't really want it for free I just think it's important for you to know that what you said was a little curt" I think she tried to smile but it came across as more of a grimace as though she smelled something icky and she said " I was going to give it to you for free but you didn't wait long enough. " That's the epitome of crappy service where I guess I'm just supposed to keep my mouth shut about crappy service until she gives me something for free. No thank you I'd rather pay and get good service. So I asked for the manager's name which she said was Sarah. BTW. She is Sarah, the manager. Good to know. read more

By far the best Starbucks I've ever been to. I've been camping out here for a few hours every week this summer to snag a drink and some wifi. The baristas are all super friendly and, of course, make all your favorite Starbucks drinks and treats. (My favorites being the iced chai and flour-less chocolate cookie.) The design and layout are also high points. The bar and big tables allow you to be social and interact with a lot if other people. The small tables, booths, and big chairs, on the other hand, are great for settling in and getting work done. There's also a lot of outdoor seating if that's your speed. As I said, the decor is great. The wood bar is beautiful, the ceiling tiles are lovely, and I want to steal the glass light fixtures and put them in my house. All in all, a great location and someplace I definitely frequent and highly recommend. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this Starbucks. I pretty much come here out of necessity, as it's one of the few Starbucks nearby...BUT since that's the case, everyone else that lives in the area also comes here, and it's always busy. And therefore, slow. Mind numbingly slow. So slow that I have been late for appointments or reservations because I've been waiting on my effing coffee. Which obviously irritates me. (And I do try to plan ahead and give myself plenty of time, but somehow I never give myself enough time - go figure.) Unless you order a straight up cup of coffee or tea, you're going to be waiting. And waiting. And while I get that my triple grande whatever of the day does take a bit of time and effort, I also have seen the same baristas at this Starbucks for a long time now, so you'd think they might have their process figured out and that things would speed up a bit. But no. They did recently remodel this Starbucks, so the atmosphere is fairly nice - I definitely like the new "bar" area as well as the light fixtures. So while it's a nice place to leisurely enjoy your coffee, it's not a great place to grab anything if you're in a hurry. So, 4 stars if you're not in a hurry and want to sit and relax, 2 stars if you have somewhere to be in a certain time frame, which evens things out to a 3. read more

One of the consistently worst Starbucks I've been to, but it's the ONLY one around, so I will keep going. The lines are always long, it always takes longer than it should to get your drink. The manager doesn't seem to care about employees following the company's rules, because I constantly see them being broken. For example, making multiple customers' frappuccinos at the same time, in the same machine (quality control problem!), skipping people's orders, using caffeine when decaf was ordered, etc. (My sister-in-law works at Starbucks - she immediately spotted and pointed out these things.) And we notice similar issues almost every time we go in. Drinks always taste a little "off" and I'm not sure why. Fraps are always melted (I.e., too watery). This Starbucks was WAY UNDER STAFFED for a Saturday! We are from out of the state and had never had to wait 25 mins for a mobile order. We are here working and it I placed the order as we left the hotel which was 7 mins away. Still had to wait 25 mins inside. Which made me late to the event I was working. It was two very easy drinks. One staff member, was short and rude. The one who helped me was kind and dealing with stress as best he could. The cups were just stacking up. This place definitely needs more staff!!!!! read more

This is a busy Starbucks. Fortunately, it has room for those who want to spend time working or just enjoying their coffee. The staff is well managed, especially considering the amount of traffic that moves through the store. They are responsive to complaints and requests. The store is typically clean. Trash doesn't pile up. The restrooms could be cleaner, but they are still serviceable. The new mobile ordering app should let anyone skip the line if you're not into waiting. However, the crew keeps the line moving even in the busiest of times. read more
