Starbucks hands out special offers now and then, seemingly at random since i'm only an occasional patron. It was something like $4 or $5 for any "barrista-made" beverage! i.e. not canned or bottled. What a treat! While one could go for the biggest or the sweetest or the most expensive, i sometimes remember to focus on what i like. The mango dragon lemonade refresher!!! Dragonfruit pieces! Grape juice, a deep ruby color from carrot and blueberry juices, and moderately sweet stevia, lightly caffeinated with green coffee. Cold and refreshing. Did i mention the color! Aaah... Nicely made. A great deal. Welcoming barritas. No wait at 1:45pm (Apr 2026) when i ordered ahead in the app. Easy to reach location, especially if you're eastbound. This is a busy Starbucks for a Sunday afternoon. The barista was working extra hard! I liked my americano at this Starbucks. The barista made it correctly and doubled the cup so I wouldn't have to carry a steeping hot cup. The ambiance is okay, it's a bit small place. When it gets busy, people just gather in the area to get their coffee causing a backup and people trying to get in cannot. Other than the busyness, I enjoyed my americano. read more

Since this Starbucks was renovated in the past few months, it's been an adventure in frustration getting into the store as the trash, the mobile pick up and in store drink & food pickup and napkins etc, are all within 4-5 feet of the entrance/exit door. There is not enough seating for the amount of customer traffic this store has, although this is the closest store to my home, oftentimes I drive to the stores in Columbia on Lynx Lane or Richard's Valley Rd. Outside the store, The traffic pattern for entry and exit in the parking lot is very unusual & definitely not convenient to get in and out of the store. My personal belief is that if this were in a building nearby that could have a drive through and more seating & parking areas, there would be an exponential increase in revenue for Starbucks in Ellicott City read more

Ken was very patient with me, as I was being indecisive, and not exactly sure what I wanted. He made a suggestion of breve vanilla latte. He then proceeded to make me a miniature size of it, and gave it to me to try; cuz he wanted to make sure I liked it. It was amazing! So I ended up ordering a venti size, cuz it was that good! What I appreciated the most, was Ken's excellent customer service, and he treated me like I was a friend. He was so very kind and patient. He definitely deserves a big raise!!! Just sayin. People like him need to be acknowledged, appreciated, and paid more, cuz they go above and beyond; like Ken. Recent renovations made this Starbucks worse. The available seating has been reduced and the floor traffic gets congested as the main entrance is right where people stand waiting for their drinks. I'm glad the employees have more room to work but wish there could have been a compromise that left more seating. Too bad, I used to meet people here for a coffee but you can't count on being able to sit anymore. And simply picking up a coffee means wading through a sea of waiting patrons. read more

I didn't *want* Starbucks. What I wanted was a coffee from one of the shops on Ellicott City's Main Street. But the July flood happened and they're still recovering. So I'm here. It's a small-medium sized Starbucks with some tables and chairs plus a few tables outside. The usual selection of pastries and sandwiches. My double espresso was prepared quickly and properly in a "short" cup. The cheese danish was fresh and crumbly, as it should be. No drive through here though it would be a perfect location for it on this major surface road that heads towards Baltimore. read more

Most of the parking spots are to the side of the coffee shop. There is outdoor seating (enough to accommodate 8 or so people). The inside has some two-person tables and a window bar and bar stools with plenty of outlets for charging electronic devices. There was an energetic number of people inside but didn't feel claustrophobic and crowded. The shop was clean, well-organized, and in good condition overall. With posters advertising local events, in particular a fundraising event for #ECStrong to assist businesses struggling with the aftermath of the recent floods, it felt good to see the local impact and Starbucks' civic engagement! The woman behind the register was attentive, friendly, and happy. I was not asked for my name when I placed my order of a grande frappuccino. The barista prepared my drink quickly and announced it. Bottom Line: Full service, stand alone Starbucks where the parking lot can be busy but the line moves fast. If you are craving your caffeine fix, don't be too deterred by the parking lot. The narrow strip of spaces in front of this place can make it look busier than it is inside. Besides, the line moves quickly thanks to an efficient and knowledgeable staff. Even if I am not exactly sure what I am ordering, they understand what I want. Also, they seem to have the ratio down for the right number of baristas taking orders v. the right number of baristas making drinks. After all, what's the point of immediately placing your order if there isn't a barista to make it quickly? My sister loves Starbuck's original chai (not the funky Oprah chai) and it seems to be harder and harder to find in EC. I give Starbucks 4 stars because the only uses milk for their coffee drinks. I can not have milk and I am allergic to nuts so that cancels out the almond or cashew milk ideas. I typically don't check in or do reviews on Starbucks because I'm a regular so it'll be redundant. My go to drink is a Venti Caramel Frapp add Vanilla syrup. You won't be disappointed!! No communism here! Easily the best Starbucks in the area. No drive through, but fast turn around on orders and the experienced baristas can handle very high volumes. My one complaint is that they got rid of all their comfy seats -- this was probably a corporate decision. Good teamwork, friendly, accurate service makes for a pleasant experience. read more

First impression was pretty good! I admit it was very crowed for a Saturday morning around 10. The cashier was very friendly and greeted me as I walked up to the register. After that I waited 10 minutes for my Caramel Macchiato. The barista had approximately 10 drinks at the bar and everyone was confused about which drink belonged to whom. My order was up, it was no seating so I had to take it to go. I made the mistake of pulling off before I tasted my drink. It was the worst I've ever had from here. Great location right off of the main road in Ellicott City. Business is always about location and this is a prime spot. The only downfall is parking. They have limited parking that they share with 3-4 other businesses which can cause a lot of traffic. The customer service is great and the music is always bumping! During holidays they have decorations and its very festive too. They have outdoor seating for those cool summer nights. Bar style seating to watch the snow falling. And couches for the lazy couple to cuddle up together. Very clean establishment and everyone is friendly. While standing in line during the busy hours, you can browse through their large selection of mugs, cups, and thermos. Service is pretty fast and theyre always consistent. read more

It's some $12,000 coffee machine from a company (originally founded by Stanford engineers) SBUX bought out. It's really amazing. Go in and get a Clover coffee. Does anyone review a Starbucks store? Well, I don't care. I do now. Either way, this location has recently had a revamping of its interior. In the past, I recall the chairs being moderately comfortable, but now they feel and look like they've been shipped straight from an Ikea super-factory (Not a good thing for you people who think Ikea furniture is elite). But perhaps the 2 most vexing aspects of this place are the lack of enough seating and the weird parking lot setup. 1. Lack of seating I came here on a rainy Wednesday around noon expecting at least 1 open table, but was disappointed to swing the side door open and find that all 3 tables (That's right. They have a whopping 3 full tables) were taken. I stood for about 15 minutes before some people left. Points lost. 2. Parking There are like 5 spaces out front, and those fill up quickly. I've actually only parked in front of the store a handful of times. The other spaces are located adjacent to the building, and during inclement weather, can be a pain to make the walk inside. Other than that, standard Starbucks fare. Quick service, accurate baristas, and the smell of espresso and coffee beans are all pluses, but they just can't transform this place into any more than just another big chain coffee shop. read more
