No matter where I go Starbucks serves bitter and burnt coffee, especially if you get it black and straight up without any chemistry class embellishments. It's what they do and who they are. Proud and unapologetic. So, instead of dinging them for years of disappointment, how about five stars for consistency. PROS: This Starbucks has nice staff and is conveniently located in the center of the mall. They have tables in the hall way which is a common courtesy that is non-existent to many other places outside of the food court. CONS: They take forever to get your order ready. The experience that I had at this location was nothing what Starbucks stands for. I came in with a tumbler that I purchased from Starbucks and I was doing some holiday shopping and I went up to the register and asked the barista for a "coffee refill". Mind you, I have been a registered Starbucks member since 2012. That says how much I spend in their stores. Her short reply to me was "did you buy a coffee earlier?" Excuse me? Let me give you an example of what the customer experience is from a former barista. "No problem, miss." Customer service goes a long way and not even a thank you. The nearest spot for good coffee would be Rock'n'Joe in Union. This Starbucks location is really no different than any other Starbucks, except that their prices are a tad higher, and they have the clover brewing system. Clover coffee is an expensive brewing machine that instantaneously makes a well balanced brew, like a fast speed french press. They have a variety of reserve blends to compliment it, although they pack quite a price tag, often between $4-6 a cup. I've often found the service to be a tad lacking, and have had lukewarm delivery times as well as handling / quality of my drinks. read more

This Starbucks is located at the first floor of the mall. Super busy. Maybe it was because of Holidays and this is probably the only coffee place in the mall. The service was ok as they were all working on to fill the orders. The entire shop was kind of messy with full of people. People didn't clean their table after use and it took us a while to wipe the table and get it ready. We ordered cappuccino and latte. Both were consistent with normal Starbucks drinks. read more

I have been to this Starbucks multiple times now and every time I have wondered if the staff is rude only with me or with everyone in general, seems like the first case. The counter was out of whole milk and I asked them for some whole milk. The server told me it will be there in 2 mins. Fast forward 5 minutes I am still waiting for milk. I am generally a pushover and wait longer than I should, I go back and ask for whole milk again. In the meanwhile, don't worry, my coffee is getting cold. So the server tells me that the whole milk is at the counter (I have been waiting right next to the counter this whole time). I tell him, no it isn't. He says go check again. And then a white guy walks up to him and asks for whole milk. Guess what happens? The server takes out the whole milk can right away! Never mind, may be an oversight on servers' part. I remind him I have been waiting for my banana walnut bread for 10 minutes (all this while I was waiting for the milk too). And it is only then when he actually walks to the bakery and warms up a bread for me. Pretty epic. I had my mobile order made wrong 3 times. THREE TIMES! When I got into the store I noticed that my mobile orders resembled ice milk, I had ordered iced espresso with a LIGHT SPLASH OF CREAM, not half a gallon of cream. When I asked the woman to fix it she had taken the stickers and placed them on new cups and began again. The first drink she dumped too much cream again, I asked her to please make the next one with A LIGHT SPLASH, LIGHT, not heavy. Then she proceeded to make the next drink with way too much syrup. First and LAST TIME I'll ever deal with them. Wish no stars was an option. When I arrived there were 2 people ahead of me, with another 3 waiting on their orders, so not too crowded. I ordered at Grande Peach Green Tea lemonade at 7:19p. They didn't take my name. Glad I took my paper receipt. It usually never takes that long to get it together. The couple that ordered received their order in about 6 minutes. The woman 2 behind me order a small PGTL. As I see them making what seems to be my order, the barista walks away to the back with it - BECAUSE Its MADE FOR HIM as I still wait 10 mins into it for mine. Then they say "Peach green tea lemonade" and give me this tiny cup. I said "is this a Grande while holding my receipt and they said "no". So I show them what my order was and they tell me to wait. That small belonged to the woman who placed the order way after I did!!! Took them all of 2 minutes for her to receive hers mistaken it for mine - mind you I'm STILL WAITING FOR MINE which I ordered way before she did! After they fixed it, I just walked away. I always wondered why that Starbucks was crowded and here are the reasons: -They don't pay attention -They sat, gossiped and politicked -Atrocious customer service! The WORST Starbucks I've been gone to. I travel for a living and have gone to over 100 different Starbucks locations and spend thousands on Starbucks a year, but I would rather drink coffee made from sewer water than ever visit this Jersey Gardens location ever again. Here is why: I can deal with long lines, I get it. It's a busy location. But no matter how you order, it will be long. I usually order through the mobile app, but that was basically as long as waiting on line. I've been to this Starbucks a handful of times... but my last 3 encounters at this location have been my worst 3. Although, I would have to say, my first two visits don't even come close to my last HORRID experience. The first time, I waited for my coffee for 27 minutes. Yes, 27 minutes. Clearly, I am loyal to my cup of coffee. You would think I learned after this experience, but no. On top of that, the staff was not very friendly, but again... I can deal with that. Can't have it all. The second time, the wait was long as well. No surprise, everyone gathering around waiting for their coffee, unsatisfied, asking the baristas what's going on. 3 people there complaining about their order being incorrect. But my last experience was by far, my worst and let me explain why. Along with my usual long but expected wait, I see one barista extremely rude to the gentleman near me. He was patiently waiting for his coffee with no complaints, and the barista goes, "Did you even order? The line is not here." I was caught off guard, and so was he. The tone was just nasty. I should've known better, but in a very, very kind way I asked that same barista if he knew where a certain store in the mall was. (I used to work at a mall too, and I know how irritating it can be for people to be asking where a particular store is located. Hence why I even said if he didn't know where it was, it was no problem.) He responds back in a nasty tone & looks at me like I was ridiculous for asking him a simple question. Then I kindly respond back, "Oh no, thank you anyway... it's okay. I'll figure it out, I appreciate it." Then he goes, "Um... OKAAAAY. I work at Starbucks, not at the mall." Both customers near me look at me, and the one man near me goes, "Wow, you don't talk to someone like that." I hear the barista talking under his breath.. continuing to make rude remarks to his co-workers... none of them are feeding into it. We're all looking at him just clueless. Mind you, he sarcastically includes my name (which he saw through the mobile order) in every response, like he's trying to belittle me. I won't say his name, let's just say... I hope he realizes his attitude towards customers is not okay. I know not everyone is going to be pleasant, and I know people can have a bad day at work. I completely get it. Sure, you don't need to have a smile on... but to be rude that rude, in front of other customers? ...Over something SO small? I was embarrassed for him. I pay $5.00 for coffee, not for the extra aggravation. read more

Suziie's bubbly, energetic personality draws me into Starbucks! Service sucks!! Had a really bad experience today. I ordered 2 tall coffees and I had to repeat 3 times in order for him to get my drink right because the lady behind him was grinding coffee bean which is not my fault. He gave me a mean face and nasty attitude. My sister and I were waiting for our drink at the pick up area.. when he throw us our drink, he gave no eye contact no word.. nothing! I'm pretty lenient with baristas screwing up my orders as they are pretty elaborate (grande, single shot, nonfat milk and two pumps of whatever tickles my fancy at the given moment) but this place was beyond words. They made my drink with 2% milk, I know cuz I watched them, and when they handed it to me and I confirmed if it was nonfat he lied to my face and said it was; I decided to let it go. But when my husbands iced black and white mocha came out as a hot white mocha, we sent it back only to watch the guy make an iced white mocha with the usual 4 pumps syrup, catch himself in the last min, and instead of remaking it, he just added several more pumps of dark choc syrup rendering the coffee undrinkably sweet!!!! There was tremendously long line, which is understandable with the amount of people working. After we ordered our drinks my boyfriend and I stood in front of the espresso machine just talking about our day and such, when the barista with dreads and circular glasses (can't identify him by name because his name tag just said barista) said, "Romeo and Juliet move over so other people can stand". This wouldn't have bothered me if it weren't for the tone he used, very rude. We waited for about 10 minutes before I got my Molten Fudge frap which wasn't bad. My boyfriend had ordered the Ethiopian drip coffee which we waited another 5 minutes for and eventually had to tell them we hadn't received. The man went and got the regular Starbucks blend and placed it on the counter, but we were so over waiting my boyfriend just took what he could get. As we were leaving a lady approached the counter and said she had asked for soy milk in her drinks, the barista went to the cashiers and told them to make sure to be marking such choices, to which she loudly replied something along the alines of if people aren't asking for soy milk I'm not going to mark it. She then went on to say from now on I'm asking every customer if they want soy milk, in an obvious attempt to make fun of the request.
