It's approaching 11:00 a.m. on a normal fall Saturday in College Park, Maryland. With a little time before Third Eye Comics opens its doors, my wife sends me to Starbucks for the following: 1 or 2 Venti Hot Mint Majesty Herbal Teas and 3 rolled and steel-cut oatmeals for the week: add blueberries and nut medley; add a splash of skim milk; and add honey blend. Regardless of what I order, there is an expectation and a rapport, a call and a response, that happens whenever, and with whomever, I place my order. Each time, I give my real name (SCOTT!) rather than an alias or a nom-de-plume, knowing that the soon-to-be-perfect transaction will be cordial and without drama. But what if, instead of falling in New York City, the meteors that turned out to be ships holding terrifying aliens, bent on using echolocation to find and consume humans, fell at the College Park Marketplace Shopping Center instead? Would the service of this particular Starbucks remain excellent and the lattes and the Herbal Mint Majesty teas still be served steaming hot? Would they take orders during claps of thunder, downpours of rain, and howling winds? I'd like to think that if any Starbucks could navigate the rules of A Quiet Place and still provide unparalleled service to spouses of soon-to-be-contented customers, it would be this one. read more

This Starbucks is always jumping! Located in a busy shopping center where Shoppers Food Warehouse is located on Cherry Hill Rd in College Park. I typically hit the drive through which is a little tricky because you're forced to circle the back of the building which is also a couple of lanes for a bank maybe ATM service, once you receive your order. I ordered a Venti Medicine ball that was on point. Great barista (pink hair) at the window on a Saturday afternoon. It's my go to drive through Starbucks ! read more

Still a solid choice for Sbux! I almost forgot about them. This was one of the first drive-thru locations I'd been to. I'm glad they're still here. The employees are friendly. I got one of my favorite drinks, the salted caramel cold brew, and it was really good. read more

Eric is the best! He has the Starbucks College Park running like a well oiled machine. With all the chaos during school time, my orders still come out timely and fresh with a smile. I highly recommend this location. Some people may not like the rules there but they are much needed to keep things flowing and comfortable for everyone. When I'm in that area that's my spot. read more

Some kid at this Starbucks' Drive Thru tells me to "Have a nice Life" after handing my order to me. I told him that saying Merry Christmas to people would be a better thing to say ,and then he just laughs. This is weird behavior and I see now why this store gets bad reviews. read more

Great location, fast service, and a great outdoor patio for eating or drinking. Plenty of indoor seating and power outlets.

The food is always good of course, though a little pricey. The service is what really brings me in every month or so. I feel so welcome here by the workers. 5 stars for how well they treat neurodivergent folks. Making sure the music isn't too loud, being so sweet even when i am oversharing or overexplaining, and never once have i heard a complaint or gotten *the look* when i stim in front of them. Best place ever! This specific visit, i want to shout out the people who were working here and were amazing to me, though i cant think of a bad thing about any of the people who served me. Following are the names of these rockstars who worked here when i came: * Destiny * Maddy * Simon read more

Service at this location is the worst I've ever experienced at Starbucks. Minutes before anyone even acknowledged me to take my order. Extensive wait for 1 hot and 1 cold beverage. Wait was at least 15 minutes for the cold drink such that I apologized, indicated I need to go, and requested a refund. The barista said, "I'll just fix it." Handed me my drink and never made eye contact or acknowledged me or the delay after I said thank you twice to her. This location has a drive thru. Seems they cater to drive thru customers over customers in the store. read more

Exceptional customer service is why we Yelp right? Then this location deserves all the praise for amazing customer service! You see, this SBUX is one of the only ones in the area open late(r) than most, so I used the app to order a White Chocolate Mocha Latte from here around 9:15 PM on a Sunday. Imagine my horror when I arrived close to closing time and the baristas told me that they didn't have my order - though I had already paid in the app. It wasn't until I doubled checked the app and noticed I had put in my order to another SBUX in College Park - and not the one where I was standing. To add insult to injury, that location was closed. Then, imagine my pleasant surprise when the barista told me that they would make the drink I had ordered elsewhere, since I had a receipt to prove I had already spent the money. I'm not sure if that's corporate policy, but I was so amazed at their willingness to help so close to closing time that I thanked the staff profusely and had to shout them out where it counts...on Yelp! read more

The lady serving on Memorial Day 2024 at about 9:20 pm. Slim light skin girl. She had no sense of hospitality. Realising I'd been given coffee instead of hot chocolate, I can back along to the drive through window. She claims she didn't really hear my order. And so that's why she gave me whatever came to her mind. She didn't apologize for not confirming at the window when I came for pickup. She then replaces it with hot chocolate. I tell her thanks and she simply shuts the window without a word. That's not the kind of service that takes me ever to a Starbucks. I go to Starbucks because I expect the Starbucks tribe hospitality. Not this! She definitely belongs to Walmart. read more

I understand that this is in a college town and probably a very busy location. The drive through was super busy--and maybe that accounted for the lack of cleanliness inside the bathroom. (Maybe the staff just didn't have time to clean the bathrooms...) I have seen cleaner rest stop bathrooms, though! read more

Very poor service this morning. I stood by the register to place my order. A young lady behind the counter was cleaning her headphones. Hovering in the space between the drive through and the cold case. She looked over saw me, didn't interact. Look my again and again nothing. Looked at the young lady who I presume was supposed to be on register but she was washing containers in the sink directly behind the register. The first one proceeded to continue cleaning her headphones. The young lady who was washing containers in the sink asked her to take my order because she was busy. The first one walks over looking bothered takes my order. I wait for the order, it is placed in the counter and no one says anything not a name, a beverage type nothing. Mind I was never asked for my name... I understand each Starbucks location is different, however I think there should be some consistency with hot waters are dispersed to patrons once they are ready. Most locations I've gone to the interaction has been much clearer. read more

Starbucks - Venti Caramel Macchiato, extra shot. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - College Park, Maryland

Currently there are 4 persons working and I've waited 10minute for a coffee. Not a treat or exquisite drink! The drive thru was poppin so I came inside to no one in line. When did those being in person not take priority. This is ridiculous considering the amount of persons in here. I've been to plenty in DC with two Baristas and they filtered those folk out like an assembly line. This is just ridiculous and inefficient. read more

Ordered 2 drinks on the app one of which was a matcha green tea Frappuccino. I don't know what I got, but it was not the drink I ordered. I proceeded to go back inside and no one was at the cash registers. I had to wait several minutes before being served. The person who greeted me was not very customer service friendly at all. While I waited on my drink I went to the rest room. It was absolutely filthy!!! If I can figure out how to post a picture I will. I know there's a staffing shortage going on, but this experience was like none other! Normally when Starbucks makes a mistake they'll give you a gift card to make amends. That's good customer service. They didn't even offer so much as an apology. read more

Drive thru Starbucks up in this B! The drive thru isn't particularly place VERY well tbh. Most of the time, the line of cars stops people from entering the side of the parking lot where the Starbucks is... but they do move quickly; and they usually have more than enough staff on hand. No complaints with this SB. ALOT of students from nearby UMD come here and work on their laptops. They do have the sucky chairs with no back support, which is why I usually don't hang out here. But this is my goto Starbucks for dropping by before I head to Peg Leg Vintage which is just one minute away. And we all know how much I'm at Peg Leg Vintage ;) read more

Being your average basic bitch I think makes me uniquely qualified to rate this Starbies. Cuz I mean what else do basics do on a Sunday?! So without adu 5 reasons this place is the best. 1. Location::: Close to 95, a grocery store, a chipotle, a fro yo place what else do you need ?! You can grab your drink and get on with it. 2. Drive thru::: Yes!!!! A Starbucks with a drive thru. Clearly another basic bitch thought this up. Who would rather get out of their car, probably wait in a shorter line and then have to get back in the car when instead!!! You could stay sitting in your and pick up your drink?! Drive thru it is. 3. They get my name right::: If you've been to any other Starbucks anywhere then you know they always get your name wrong. Even if your name is Jen. They give you Jan, Ken, or Jes. Wtf?! But this location always gets it right. No guess if that it my PSL or not! 4. Staff:: Seriously though, the staff here is no nice and kind and welcoming. They great you, quickly make your drink and seem like the genuinely all get a long. 5. The drinks::: The vast majority of the time the drinks at this place come out perfect. Exactly how I order my husbands super complicated drink. Couldn't make it up if I tried. extra hot not foam no whip skim milk tall in a grande cup. But on the rare occasion when they get it wrong they happily re make it. And smile through I am sure they want to scream. So to wrap it up, 5 stars for this place putting up with me. :-) read more

Five stars for genuine care and the most amazing costumer service in the Metropolitan Area. I needed to spare some time so I figured to go to Starbucks because I love their coffee and rewards program. I never thought I would get the most caring costumer service. I asked for a Venti Caramel Latte. The barista prompt some questions to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and told me what he was giving me. He nailed it! I ended up spending more time there than I originally thought so I ended up ordering a venti tea. Barista took his time to explain me the different teas and caffeine levels, also when I requested hot water and not boiling he had no problem making sure it was exactly how I wanted. They were busy but moving. The place is clean with a great environment. Highly recommend this specific location. read more

This is a great drive thru location, where the line usually moves pretty fast and the drinks are always made perfectly to your specifications. This location also stays open to 10pm most nights, which is later than most other locations in the DMV area. I got to enjoy one of the holiday drinks, the Caramel Brulee Latte, and it was amazing!!!!! Hot but not scalding, and tasted great. Definitely recommend. read more

Light and bright. Situated on a corner. LIGHT wood decor and furniture. I could spend some time here. GIANT boardroom table the only drawback. Seats about 24 I think. Guess it's great if you come in with your entire sorority but if you're "just the one" person makes it awkward to sit there. At least for me, not being a fan of sharing my space, or my anything else, with strangers. read more

I like Starbucks so I give this place four stars. Plus, there was a streak of two or three days they didn't have my favorite drink so they comped me a drink when it they had the ingredients in stock (it was a seasonal flavored latte - egg nog or something). This place is constantly hopping because it's close to the University of MD and the drive thru is jammed in the morning. I'm talking - bring a book to read while you're waiting in your car - jammed. Friendly staff. Good ol' Starbucks stuff. read more

Very Rude! Not one person greeted me nor did they say your welcome. It's the simplest things that make the world a better place.

the service in the drive thru sucks everytime i come here. i ask for the same thing everytime and they always get it wrong and this one woman good lord she be sounding fake perky in the morning but really she comes off condescending and rude i hate hearing her when i pull up i already know what service i'm about to get....idk fire the whole staff except the one dude w black hair and glasses, he's cool read more

Came by for my morning fix of coffee. I'm usually a fan of Peet's out in CA...but we're in MD, so it's okay. Upon standing in line, I notice the employees chillaxing, singing, and hanging out while making drinks for the drive-thru customers... to each their own....as long as they get their job done.... not very professional in my book... Ordered a croissant and an iced mocha. Informed my barrista to pass on the whip cream, his response, "sure!" My drink comes out a minute later w/ whip cream... I give him a funny look and he's like, "what?" I informed him that he agreed to pass on the whip cream, meaning to skip the whip cream...his response... "ok." ...what a joker. read more

As compared to other Starbucks clones, this one has more tables and outlets to charge your device than most. That plus its proximity to U of MD are probably why it's usually pretty full. They do pretty well matching staffing to demand, so even with the drive thru there is seldom a long wait. Why 3 vs 4 stars? The WiFi didn't connect until I opened my browser and watched a short sponsor video - or rather set my phone down and had a sip of my venti latte until it was done. I hope that annoyance has not become a new SB standard. read more

This is what I would describe as your average Starbucks. It's always busy, the staff is decently nice, and it's clean enough. For such a strange location for Starbucks I actually couldn't believe how busy it was. I did love the inside of this location they had lots of room for people to sit and people to work if needed. The bathrooms were pretty dirty but it's hard to expect super clean bathrooms all the time. This is exactly what I would hope for when I would walk into a Starbucks nothing more and nothing less. read more

It wasn't an amazing experience for me. Approximately 2 months ago, I went to the drive-thru after 9pm for my daily Frappuccino because the app said they were open until 10pm. I ordered from home and the lights were out around 9:20. This attitude of indifference towards the customer is disappointing. I understand it's the weekend and maybe the employees want to party but the customers need to know if you're going to lock the doors early. read more

It's a shame that I still go to starbucks even though I work at a coffee shop that sells the best coffee in the DC metro area. I mean, if Murky wasn't so far away, I'd go there to get my coffee fix. Unfortunately, I have to come up with a backup plan... Starbucks. Yikes. So yeah, their espresso is burnt. Their coffee tastes burnt. But they have a DAMN GOOD gingerbread latte. For real. The staff at this store is pretty cool. I like the morning folk and some of the evening peeps. The midday shift people are okay, I guess. FINALLY - they're starting to catch onto the fact that I only want my grande travel mug filled HALFWAY. I've had this travel mug for over a month and EVERY TIME I ORDER A DRINK I've asked for it only half-filled, but they fill it up. Why? I don't know, but it was irritating. This location has the nicest baristas! The interior is super cozy and welcoming and its a starbucks so naturally the coffee is the best :)

This review is more for if you plan to stay and drink your coffee inside and possibly work (or, ear hustle like me). If you're looking for a Starbucks to sit inside and get your free wifi on, this is a great location. It is relatively large compared to others in the area. I frequent here especially when I work remotely because it is spacious and they have varying seating available. There are comfy chairs, small cafe tables, work tables with outlets and a standing work table. The service is usually really good other than a few mishaps, but it's pretty standard. Many of the staff seem to have pretty positive relationships with many of the regulars. They also have a drive-thru, which is a plus. read more

Rudest customer service ever. I was standing there and totally ignored for a good five minutes. The black guy there clearly saw me but I was watching his eyes and he refused to look at me. Why? Not sure how you can burn Espresso and make a sour cold brew, but if you want to try it this is the place. Worst Starbucks I've patronized.

One of my favorite Starbucks to visit. The staff is always happy. Maybe sometimes too happy at 7am on a Monday. HA! But I really appreciate them. Small talk is always made at the window if there is a short wait for an order. They have never been out of anything during any of my visits. Drinks are always made exactly as requested...Well except once...But the young lady apologized for the confusion, and quickly corrected my drink. The service here is A 1. read more
