This branch of Starbucks is located close to Checkpoint Charlie in the American area of Berlin, just outside the "fake" check-point still there today, run by actors.
This Starbucks is a decent sized branch, it is accessed through a large step but this should be easy enough to manage if you plan to come in with a manual wheelchair or pram. There are toilets inside including disabled toilets.
As with all Starbucks stores in Germany, the prices did seem quite high, considerably higher than what it would cost in the Uk once the currency is converted, mainly down to how Starbucks is run in Germany by a company who own their stores, hence meaning UK and US Starbucks cards can't be used here.
Having already had a coffee at Starbucks earlier on in the day, I ordered a Lime Cooler which is exactly the same as the Lime Refresha we have in the UK, it is a lime juice drink with fresh pieces of lime and I found it to be quite refreshing, The drink cost 3.99 euros each which work out at about £3.61, this same drink would cost about £2.85 in the UK, so in this case it is priced at 76p higher which is equal to 84 cents in the euro currency, which is used in Germany.
Inside, the decor is really nice, they have tried to include some photos to link into Checkpoint Charlie and have a huge selection of merchandise including a wall of mugs, different mugs for Germany and Berlin.
The staff seemed friendly enough, albeit the language barrier was an issue as I don't speak German, and the staff spoke some but very little English but mainly down to the overall drink quality, feel of the branch, I feel this is one of my favourite stores I have visited so far in Berlin, hence it is worthy of a FOUR star rating. read more
