The sandwich was absolute fire--loaded with cheese and served on excellent bread that was toasted to perfection. As for the soup? First off let me say a female manager was standing outside on her phone when we arrived. I went in to use restroom and pick up my mobile order. The entrance that is closest to the restrooms had a very dirty door with handprints and smudges all over the glass looking like it hadn't been cleaned for several days. Women's bathroom had no toilet paper in one stall and the trash bin was overflowing with feminine products..... apparently they do not take the trash out every day for it to be overflowing with very nasty trash on the floor in that stall. When I came out of the bathroom, that female manager who was previously outside was standing right outside the female bathroom, so I mentioned it needed some assistance. When I picked my food up at the counter the floor in the lobby looked like it hadn't been swept in recent days and the front door right there had very dirty glass with fingerprints and smudges all over it. I returned to my car and my family member who was with me was waiting for their curbside delivery. I noticed that female manager and two male employees were now standing outside at the end of the building, smoking cigarettes, and looking on their cell phones. We were there for approximately 25 minutes and that manager was outside that entire time all the while the food establishment was filthy. If they can't take the time to take the trash out and put toilet paper in a bathroom and wipe off the dirty doors I don't think I can trust them to keep the food prep area sanitary either. We will not ever be eating at that McDonald's again..

It sounded like something a tourist should do when you're staying in a little town like Baker. The diner is part of the motel next door which is also called the Oregon Trail. Both venues are kinda dated. I'm sure in it's prime it was fabulous! But eating at this venue was pretty cool. It was like stepping into an old school time capsule. We sat ourselves at a booth on the very left of the diner. It was probably one of the only booths where the seating wasn't all messed up. We were instantly greeted and given menus. I did creep on their online menu this morning but it was good to see what I might miss. I got the country breakfast. It had two eggs, 5 slices of bacon and I opted for fresh fruit instead of the hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and yolky in the middle. The fruit was super fresh! It was still on the unripe side but still sweet. The bacon was ok. It was slightly overcooked in the middle and chewy on the ends. It was quite the experience eating here. The servers are really nice and really good at making sure your coffee cup is always full! By the time we left, there was a good crowd of people coming in. It was cool to experience Baker's local diner. It was neat dining here with all the locals.
