I basically work out of this Starbucks every week day. It's close to the house (bike ride away) and the baristas are always friendly (not just to me, but everyone I see they interact with). Usually I sit at the bar so I get a front row seat haha Bathrooms are pretty clean, there's a small "rush" around 10am or 11am, but by 12-2pm, the place clears out significantly so it's a great place for work. Coffee tastes like, well Starbucks coffee. Which is why I come here (consistency). Most importantly, wifi game strong, so highly recommend, super fast shipping, A+++

This Starbucks has a good look about it, and they manage their service very well, but it's layout is a bit odd. Pros: + The service at this Starbucks is very helpful. At least once when bold wasn't available, they comped me an Americano. + The drive through is very convenient. Cons: - Location, location, location. What a mess! No left turn on either entrance on a ridiculously busy corner. Really tough to get to. - The location isn't comfortable. One of the major features of Starbucks is the feeling of relaxation, escape, and somewhere to meet, talk, and work. This Starbucks feels like none of those things, but maybe several rooms that accidentally got together in one place. - Ditto on the ordering counter. It's like a funnel, and makes a mess of ordering pastries and reading the menu. The problems of this Starbucks are more construction than service. Their coffee and staff are good, and that's really what it's about. If you need a brew from Starbucks, stop here. If you need a place to hang out, try the Starbucks at the other end of Wolff, or Professor Java's down the street. (this is on the high side of 3.5, so I'm rounding up, there are better Starbucks)

Another great day at my office... and by office I mean Starbucks! Always professional and courteous. Special nod to Abby and Rachel!

20 minute wait for a mobile order iced coffee. This place sucks. Starbucks should reopen the store by the mall.

Not shabby for a Sbucks though the corner location isn't great. Staff friendly Sbucks staff. Coffee typical Sbucks.

Coffee is hot, tea is wet. Weird seat configuration. May not be a good place to work, there is a one hour time limit for parking spaces.

Somehow, I managed to beat the rush. I sat down to drink my latte and people-watch. It's been several years since I visited Professor Java's. It's still on Wolf Rd but it moved into the Shopper's Park. It's still extremely dark despite many overhead hanging lights with low wattage incandescent bulbs. A bit depressing. Suited for people who don't like sunlight. I had been shopping on Wolf Rd. I hadn't had my morning cup of coffee yet. I wanted to get a great latte, then sit and savor it a bit. I did not want to be at a major chain though I generally don't have many objections to them. I would have liked soy milk in my latte but they didn't carry it. So I settled for almond milk. The latte was strong, dark and foamy. The wait was minimal after placing my order. I expected to pay a premium for this experience. My medium latte was 16 oz and cost $6 before adding tip, which put it over $7. It's a bit more than some businesses charge though in LA I've paid $10. I know coffee. I've had better lattes but this one was a good solid medium latte. Not bitter. Plus, no one was rushing me to get out. There was plenty of seating. The staff is very nice and chill. So I enjoyed my alone time of latte and contemplation. There were cheesy Christmas songs playing. The place has an excellent sound system so there was no tuning this stuff out. Breakfast is served all day. Maybe I could do breakfast here someday if I'm in another reflective mood. I wish someone would turn up the lights just a bit but that's part of Professor Java's "MO," so customers have to decide whether to take it or leave it.

Among the more recent arrivals is Java Cafe on Madison Ave. It offers a nice variety of coffees, teas, other beverages and baked goods, all in a relaxing setting. What's more, they tell me that small dogs are welcome. I stopped in recently after taking a stroll in the park with my West Highland Terrier. I was surprised when they told me that my little dog could come in, too. I ordered the most wonderful hot chai latte with coconut milk and a dash of cinnamon. Since I was staying, it was served up in a stoneware cup with saucer. I also ordered a potato borek, which they explained was a small Turkish-style mashed potato pie. It was good. My friend ordered a delicious large house coffee with cream. The cafe is small but inviting with exposed brick walls. There's nice furniture and interesting wall art, including a banjo hung from one wall. But my favorite is the amoeba-shaped full length mirror with the words,"You look amazing," painted above it. How's that for giving customers encouragement? My little dog stood under our table and smiled. She was well behaved. There were several other customers but most of them looked lost- in -concentration over their laptops. It was a delicious and very calming experience for us after a nice walk in the park. Thanks, Java Cafe.

The staff were professional, pleasant, and coffee/tea focused! My wife enjoyed a black tea chai latte and I loved the reserve pour over coffee experience! The tray has the "pitcher", a glass for service, and a glass of palate cleansing jade tea in the middle. (I did have to ask what the jade tea was) The palate cleanse was the perfect start. The Costa Rican coffee was heavenly, one of those drinking experiences where even my amateur palate was engaged. Could they really be open on Easter Sunday? It seemed too good to be true. A great cup of caffeine was just what I needed at that very moment. Furniture, plants, music and wall art are arranged to set moods. It feels more like a club than a coffee house. The baristas are super friendly, helpful and patient. As I tried to make up my mind on what to order, they offered suggestions. I wound up with matcha. I think my friend had some kind of latte. I remember both beverages were delicious.
