The scissors being used seemed kind of dull, or broken, as they were taking my hair quite a bit, and he fiddled with the blade screw numerous times during the cut. He didn't dry my hair, but it looked okay to me while wet; he didn't have a mirror for me to see the back. When I got home, with my hair mostly dry, I could tell the hair on each side of my head was cut a different length, and wasn't a uniform length either. The back of my hair wasn't cleaned up either, and my neck was covered with razor scores. I won't be returning, and will be going elsewhere for a haircut rescue tomorrow.

Pricing is very cheap for hair cuts. They charge around $10-12. I used to get my straight bangs cut here all the time when I was little, and the trim would be $5. Once I switched to side bangs, I don't get my hair cut here anymore because they don't do a good job on that (I've tried once), but I watch them cut hairstyles for men and I think the guys always leave with better hair. I think this salon is good for men and also older ladies (it's my grandma's to-go hair salon). It's fine for children as well. The times I've come here, I've never seen them have a young girl in her 20's as a customer, which makes sense. I think it would be better for girls who are all about their hair to get it cut or styled elsewhere. They also do shampooing, perms, and hair dye, but the dye is just an okay job. My mom didn't get the coverage she wanted compared to her DIY at home. I've gotten the back of my hair layered here before, and the layers didn't really look like layers but I did really like the V-cut that my hairstylist did. It's so pretty and even! My family's favorite is Huong because of her precision and skills to cut the hair exactly as described. I really appreciate the care she has towards her clients to satisfy their wants. If I ever get straight bangs again, I'd come back. Even though the cut is always shorter than how I would like it to be, once the bangs grow back within a week, it looks really good and I'm content. But I don't think I will ever go back to straight bangs, so I'll just admire everyone else's haircuts when my family drags me here :)

There is nothing fancy here, but both Janet and Luz work very hard to make sure all of the clients are satisfied. Apart from not being fancy, the prices are very fair, and you will get that salon look for a great price. This is so much better than a super duper cuts or similar, here you get personal attention, and a friendly smile. On top of that she said when you came in here, you did not specifically tell her to dye the roots blonde. She's blaming me again. I said if the hair is blonde, it goes without saying the roots should be blonde. You can't decide to change the color and not tell the client. . She reiterated and said it's my fault because I didn't say to paint the roots blonde. Why don't you just paint them black or purple or red? Since you're deciding her hair was blonde and she just needed the roots touched up. They are argumentative. They don't accept responsibility. They screw things up and then they blame you for it so if you want your hair ruined, come here and ask for Ruth. PS I'll never ever ever come back here again

Can't believe I'd been walking by Mandy's to get to Bethany's during all those years at Uta and…read morenever once checked this place out! I needed an eyebrow wax and actually came in by accident thinking it was the nail salon next door (lol). Yes, i was absentmindedly texting and walking... but I was so pleasantly surprised by how serene and homey the salon felt, I decided to stay when the sole lady cutting hair (Mandy) confirmed she did brows. The wait wasn't long at all only one client in the barber's chair before me (they chatted about football, and at one point started including me in the conversation). When it was my turn another client came in too, and another as I was leaving. She was very careful with my brows, taking her time and conversing with me even though another client was clearly waiting on her. The cleanser she wiped with afterwards felt clean and soothing, not oily like at nail salons (it smelled like pina colada too mmm). Her technique was unique. Usually it's a single strip on top, bottom, and in the middle between the brows. She did one on top, one between the brows, but separated the bottom into tWo separate strips. I think they're the most PERFECT arches I've ever had. I'm really surprised there werent more yelp reviews, apparently this salon's been here over 13 years. They've gotta be doing something right though if they've been here that long and are still in business. No hustle and bustle of modern day salons... only nice, steady, and slow. Mandy is the only barber and she happily takes her time with her customers. It's like an old school barber place you'd see on tv where only the owner him/herself gets to cut and talk to you. Unfortunately she only does men's and children's haircuts, but now I know where I'm getting my brows done from now on. Glad I strolled in today. BTW her $9.95 for eyebrow + lip wax is a STEAL.
