So, here is my review from a few months back: I have to write a recommendation for Michael Flores for flooring. I can't say enough good things about him. He works on his own because he is such a perfectionist and he does everything top notch. Even cuts that were going to be hidden by baseboard were cut to perfection. We had him lay laminate flooring on the whole bottom floor of our home. He found quite a few manufacturer defects on individual planks and pointed them out. I feel pretty sure that most other people would have just gone ahead and laid it. We were busy painting the interior of our home while he was doing the flooring and so we were working side by side with him. He is a really good guy and has become a friend to us. We would highly recommend him for his quality of work, his dedication, his communication and his just being a good person overall

We called and they came out the NEXT day. We were SHOCKED with the quote we were provided in writing. We were so amazed and we had researched all the reviews and pictures and we chose Affordable Patio Covering. We got approved for a permit. John and his son came out and started phase 1 on our 30ft by 9 ft patio covering. The next day the inspector came out and we were approved. The previous owners of our home we think, were going to put in a patio, and never did. They did however leave steel brackets in our concrete that have always been a tripping Hazzard. John removed them for us. John and his son came out and installed our patio covering in 1 day!!! YES 1 day. Out family and neighbors have been in shock with the price we paid compared to what they paid, to their much smaller patio coverings. We are so happy with the installation, the professionalism, the beautiful design of the covering, and the timely manner John and his son did to make our backyard look like a totally different home. Due to inept communication, the slab of granite we had picked out somehow ended up in someone else's kitchen. We had already waited several weeks longer than we were supposed to originally, and now....... We'll add an additional 10 weeks. We had an appointment for their install crew to come and install the counters. That was between 9-10 in the morning. After waiting the entire day with not do much as a phone call, we decided to give up and go eat. As we were leaving, they're install pulled up in front of our home. The two guys got out of the truck and said we're here to install your counters. This was about 6:30 in the p.m. When I asked you to where the hell they had been and why we receive no notification they said that they were in McCall finishing up a job and that they were busy. They figured that we would be around when they showed up and that we wanted to counters installed bad enough that we would like to go ahead and do it. I told them to pack her crap up and get out of there and reschedule, we were done for the day. Finally the day of installation came. After several hours of working on putting the counters in the kitchen, they had left telling us the job was finished. Standing in the kitchen looking down on the countertops I about fell over. Being a contractor I have an eyeball for lines and such, however, one does not need to be a Carpenter to see how bad of a screwup this was. What was supposed to be a 90° angle cut ended up being a 97° angle cut. When we spoke to Big Wood Cabinets they sent the rep out to take a look. Of course she tried to come up with all kinds of roundabout excuses and reasons why it was the way it was the bottom line it was screwed up. He was Going to check in to finding out about having it replaced. After several days of negotiating back-and-forth he asked if we would be willing to except the countertop as it was and reduce the price for doing so. We agreed telling him that we would like at least a 20% reduction on the price of a granite slab that was miss cut and looks well looks terrible. That was agreed. Looking further into it not only was the countertop miss kit for the cabinets were installed just a little bit out of square as you can see in the pictures. These guys are supposed to be professionals?During the installation process of the cabinets, we had noticed flaws in the faces of the drawers and cabinet doors. Some were warped, some had chips taken out of them. Every time we inquired about such we were told to go ahead and wait until the end and we would do a final walk-through and then submit a claim under the warranty for the damage pieces and they would replace those parts. Well 7-8 months past the finish time of the cabinet installation and countertops we still have received no discount on the countertop after paying full price and we have received no parts or pieces to replace those damaged ones or defective ones. When calling Big Wood Cabinets we are told basically to shove it and they weren't going to do anything about it. You can see in the pictures how bad some of the damage was. Would you accept this in your home for all the money they charge? Wells Farfound one of our brand-new kitchen towels watered up underneath one of the cabinets looking like this. Bottom line these guys don't stand behind their word for a damn thing. They are liars and they're cheats. Not the kind of business dealing I would expect from a fellow native Idahoan.

The team was flexible in how the project was done and were professionals the entire time it took to complete the installation, sanding and staining. I mentioned purchasing my own flooring from the beginning but he offered that he could get nice flooring at discount (contractor's price), so I trusted what he said. Well the flooring was faulty. It looked horrible once completed. It had different sheens, while some of it looked matte, some of it looked glossy, with a sheen. It resulted in a complete re-do after the inconvenience of waiting an entire month of delays, with poor communication, as he was very busy with the Eagle job! The flooring company people ended up coming out twice to look at the horrible flooring, to see if they were going to replace it. In the interim, this is a rental that I'm losing time and money on. Long story short, they ended up replaceing the floor, but charged me for the labor cost for doing it! Something that was never my fault in the first place. If Stephan had been there over-seeing the job, I believe that this wouldn't have happened as I'm sure he would have noticed right away the faulty flooring, it wouldn't have gotton to the point it did. I don't think he ever even went there until after his guys had completed the job. Might I add that the entire house was coated in an inch of dust afterwards, no clean up! Not sure if they were cutting the flooring inside the house or what?? The job was only for 611 sq ft. My final cost over $5, 500! I will never use this company again and would hope that people really do their research before hiring these guys!
