She was very rude & rough. I didn't want a service with gel because I already had several add ons & I guess that just upsetted her. they do a good job I just don't recommend her service read more

recently got a really short almond set here and the nails themselves turned out very pretty -- the shape was clean and the polish looked great. I paid $77, which was pretty high for such a short set. There was no military discount offered, and from what I've heard, regular civilian pricing can be lower, which was disappointing. The tools and stations didn't seem as sanitized as I would expect, and my cuticles weren't properly cleaned up before application but it's not surprising from a chop shop. the lady's are nice there and got me done within an hour read more

Star Nails - Acrylic Gel - Nail Salons Near Me - Meridian, Mississippi

Terrible customer service and way to expense compared to many other nail salons in the surrounding area that provide the same service.

I went in the morning with no appointment, to get ombré pink to black acrylics. The quickly assigned Ken as my tech. He did great. A lot of attention to detail. He wasn't super talkative which was great because I didn't want to chat. I'll definitely return and request him specifically. Side note, good music choice on the tv. read more

never again! the techs do not listen. they will always try to make you get something else rather what you asked for. I tried to give them a chance over and over but I will not go there anymore! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Awful customer service!!!! The salon I typically go to had a two hour wait and I also had to go to HobbyLobby, so seeing this shop right across the parking lot, I thought I'd give them a shot. As Pretty Woman said, "Big mistake. Huge". The older man who did my nails nicked me on the very first nail he drilled and admonished me for flinching. When he did speak, he spoke to me in his language, Cambodian or Vietnamese??? He was visibly impatient and jerked my hand several times, and one time, he leaned back in his chair and rolled his eyes. He was clearly annoyed that I could not understand him, but when I told him that I did not want a topcoat, that I just wanted my nails buffed with the pink cream, he nodded and then proceeded to paint them with a top coat. I did not correct him; at that point I just wanted to get out of there. I will NEVER go back there. Take my advice. Sometimes the longer wait is worth it. Sure wish I'd read a few reviews before walking into this establishment but at least now they have yet one more terrible review to add to all the others. read more

Acrylic nail popped off 5 days after getting done, went in to get repair, was not greeted at all. They attempted to push me out of the way for someone to pay then had an attitude when i tried to explain why i was there and made up a wait time. They are gonna fix their mistake, but I would STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. These many one star reviews are for a reason. read more

Star Nails - Popped off nail, split off after five days and broke off yesterday. Poor workmanship - Nail Salons Near Me - Meridian, Mississippi

BEWARE OF OLDER MAN WITH GLASSES. Had either a birthmark or bruise under one of his eyes and an abnormally large left thumb nail. He rushed in to take me as a client from sitting outside and was pushy in general. He didn't have any freshly sanitized tools and looked like they were thrown together in a box(even though the autoclave was behind him). As someone certified in blood born pathogen safety for my profession, his station was completely unhygienic. Didn't even wash his hands before working with me He rushed throughout and it is obvious. They may look passable from afar but really rough up close. I asked for pointed nails from the beginning but he cut them too short and tried to give me short squared nails. Had to tell him multiple times to ROUND them, even though it's not what I originally wanted. Gel nails so thick they already peeled THE NEXT DAY. Polish isn't all the way back to cuticle. Inconsistent shapes and thickness, there is literally a layer UNDERNEATH my nails, I had to go back in and have them filed down. Huge red flag that another EMPLOYEE told us to be careful and that he'd try overcharging. Was charged 50 even though the listed prices didn't correlate. I've worked in service industry for years so I'm not too picky and understand people have off days. I honestly feel like I was 1000% taken advantage of for being a new customer. Hate that I over tipped him before actually looking over the half ass job he did. read more

if I could give this nail salon 0 stars I would. being from out of state and staying in Pennington, I was excited to finally come across a nail salon in MS. I asked for a full set and a pedi. full set: man that sits in the corner (not the manager) was extremely rough with my hands pushing my fingers down, cutting me constantly after telling him he was, tapping down at the table expecting me to know what I was supposed to do instead of telling me. just rude. the gel color came out extremely streaky and ugly. once he was done, I was unsatisfied with my nails. I told the manager. Instead of taking them off he decided to put about 8 more coats on to make them seem better and cleaned around my nails which the previous guy left cotton residue etc. at that time I was there over 2 hours and ready to get the hell out. I was planning to come back the next day to get them soaked off. pedi: older lady was nice and my toes came out ok but nothing special at all. I find it unsanitary they do not put plastic bags in the feet tub. Attached are pictures that are AFTER the manager attempted to fix them. I wish I would have took some before. Never again will I be coming here. I tried calling the place to tell them I was still unsatisfied and see what their next steps would be to fixing my nails and they did not answer. I called 5 times. P.S i'm not a Karen. anybody who spends 90$ on this place walking out like I did would be just as mad as I am Do not come to this place! read more

Well....Well...Well. I stopped at this place while in town for my Bonus Son's graduation as it was 5 minutes (1.1 miles) from my hotel. I showed the picture of what I wanted to two nail technicians and they both stated that it could be done. Okay, no problem so let's get started as there was only 2 other patrons in the facility getting a manicure. Thinking that this should be quick looking at the nail art pictures on google and the sign outside the door stating "Under New Management," I was there or 1.5 hours and walked away frustrated and disgusted at the nail tech (male, 2nd chair when looking straight back from the door). Not only is the color not the same color that I picked out on the wheel, but the jar is mislabeled. He started and had my nails looking a hot mess and then got an attitude when asked to correct it. I would have just preferred that he asked for assistance, if he really didn't know how to achieve the ombre look, let along the glitter on frost nail color effect. Then he tried to rush to finish, so he can attend to the walk-in who was trying to leave. All I know if this is the best nail shop in Meridian, MS as stated in a previous review, I will be sure to get my nails done before leaving DC before coming back here next year. Oh bye the way, anyone can upload photos from Pinterest and label them as their own and there is gel nail polish remover that you can buy off of Amazon (goes on like nail polish), as no one is really doing the soak off in acetone which gets in your skin and can cause carcinogenic to enter your body. Just be wise when patronizing this business, as they seem to have their set team of regulars that they take pride in servicing and do not really welcome walk-ins or new customers. read more

Star Nails - Look closely the thumb and tips. - Nail Salons Near Me - Meridian, Mississippi

I was a regular at this salon. I grew my nails out for months, just to get an overlay. the nail tech cut my nails completely off! When I stopped him after the first one, he said he was trimming them. I finally stopped him completely after the 5th nail and he told me he missed understood me so I ended up with one hand, overlay and the other with tips which I didn't want. the design was ugly and you could tell difference. The owner gave me 20% off which I still paid $60!!! Please do not waste your time at this nail shop! apparently customers aren't their first priority!! I will never visit again!! read more

I can't give my nails a bad review because they do look great. But pedicure service I am not happy with One I had to pay $95 for nails and a pedicure which I understand it cost but $30 for a shitty pedicure no fucking way. My toe nail polish you can see texture not smooth at all and the gal doing it talked on the phone majority of the time and she seemed very unsure of what she was doing. Would go back for nails but deff not for a pedicure! read more

absolutely horrible experience at this nail salon today. Tony made racist jokes and tried to lie about it when he was confronted. It was completely rude and unprofessional. Andy, the Manager, (who wasn't even there) sided with Tony even though other patrons heard the remarks. Do not visit this racist establishment! read more

Took my 11y/o daughter here for a mani/pedi while home for Christmas. I asked the price prior and was told $50. When finished they charged my daughter $64. Plus she'd tipped with all the money she had $70. She came out of the salon with polish so thick it was already rippled and would've never dried. I took her back in and inquired why the price was more and was told the teeny Christmas tree stickers were an extra $5 each!! No one in their right mind would've paid such. They got someone else to redo her mani/pedi. I will not be returning to this shop nor will my family who lives locally. read more
