you will wait 20-30 to even 45 minutes to be seen. this is unacceptable as well as if you are going to book a full day. make it to where you are able to get to some of your patients in a 10minute manner. had an appointment for a certain time. and waited and waited and waited. but as soon as you show up a little late they want to charge you a fee, & for not letting them know if you are going to show up or not, absolutely no incentive for waiting a 20-45minute wait after scheduled appointment time. wish i could give 0 stars. this establishment is horrible i will not be returning. under qualified company, terrible scheduling. not enough people in the back to see multiple patients at a time. horrible horrible service. First time. I had to change dentist because my old dentist doesn't accept HMO anymore :-( I made an appointment for cleaning Monday 09:00. I arrived 08:59 and there were 3 of us waiting. 20min of filling out new patient forms. 20min for x-ray. 40 min for Dr Ana checking my teeth and cleaning. Got out: 10:22 staff: good. Friendly. Clinic: okay. Clean. I hate to give bad reviews I do but I got charged for $5 for doctor check up and I called my insurance saying everything should be covered for a regular check up. The insurance then called the dental office and they told the insurance it's for infectious control which is not covered by my insurance. Hmm something is fishy with this dental office. They told me a different reason from what they told my insurance. read more

Dr Sandy was fantastic! She was thorough, skilled, gentle and compassionate. My biggest anxiety is getting Novocain shots! Dr Sandy was SO good that I barely felt it. She was so nice and I'm very happy with the filings she did. My only complaint is that they overcharged me, which seems to be common practice by dentists in this area. So, I always double check charges with my insurance co. Sure enough, they charged more than my insurance allows, but at least when I called them on it the next day, they did refund me the difference. They also charged me a $5 "office visit" fee, saying it was their "own fee, separate from insurance". When I asked my insurance co about it, they said they are not allowed to charge for an office visit if I have a zero copay for office visits. The office also refunded the $5 "this time". Overall, I'm very happy I found this dental office and will definitely be going back. I would definitely recommend them, especially Dr Sandy. Just be sure to double check charges with your insurance company! read more

I was referred here for an Ortho Consult. My first appointment I waited 30 mins past my appointment time and had to leave because there was no sign of the doctor seeing us soon. The office staff did little to try to contact my insurance company and work out what was needed to treat my son. I spoke multiple times with the office manager and Lucy; they were uninterested in helping me and kept telling me to call insurance and general dentist to work it out. I had to do their job and when I called back to let them know what was needed they had to nerve to be annoyed with me and tell me what I was saying wasn't true. read more

I just have to update this review in rebuttal to the owner's response to warn other families. My child was very cooperative and has even been at this dentist before. DR. Mand and his assistant were rude and impatient with him, they didnt even bother explaining what they were doing to him and didn't even wait for us to join him in the room. I walked in on them talking crap about my child rather than "gaining his trust." I wasn't given a referral and the dentist didn't even bother looking inside his mouth before exclaiming that he had 5 cavities when last time he had none. First time here. Had to change dentists due to insurance change. Found them on yelp and seem good. My appointment was at 2:45. I came 5 mins early and filled out paperwork in 10 mins. It's 3:35 right now and I'm still waiting. If this is typical I cannot hang with this place. Ok 3:35-3:46 X-rays - lady very nice Took me to room and Dr Jong came right in and introduced herself. She was very kind. All my teeth were looking good and only had one small missing filling. She told me how she was going to clean my teeth - no scraping just this machine thing. Totally fine. The young assistant with her had issue keeping the water in yay mouth. Dribbled down my neck a few times and on my face. That wasn't good. Kind of annoying. Polishing was done by same young man. He did a fine job. I was surprised they didn't floss- but no biggie. With dentist from 3:46-4:15 Overall everyone is VERY nice!!! I had to give 4 stars due to the fact that I had to wait almost an hour. Not cool. My life is waaaay too busy for that. I have to come in 2 weeks to get my lost filling replaced. I will update then. Terrible, terrible, terrible service. All about the money, not a care in the world for the customer! This dentist was covered by my insurance which gives us 1 cleaning at no charge. I went in because I had lost a filling and needed cleaning. After waiting in the customer lounge for around an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment, I was taken in for x-rays where, lo and behold, they spotted a cavity! They asked me what I would like done, the cavity, the filling, or the cleaning... apparently they didn't have the time to address all of my dental needs. I asked to replace the lost filling. They told me, up front, that'll be $100.00, your insurance doesn't cover white fillings on front teeth. Whatever, wife will cut a check. Wham, bam, 15 minutes later I had a new filling and was ushered out of the chair and shown the street. My wife then tried to call for a follow-up appointment -- for cleaning. We were blatantly and rudely informed by the front desk that the type of cleaning we needed was a 'deep cleaning' and that there was a significant charge for this service (I don't recall exactly how much, but it was in the range $150-250). My wife told the lady on the phone, "Our insurance allows an annual cleaning and checkup, free of charge, can we schedule an appointment just for cleaning?" The lady on the phone responded "No." After these incidents, we have made several other attempts to get an appointment for service, but each time we were turned away or were informed that the type of service requested was going to cost us substantially. We were also led to believe that our insurance wasn't good enough for the level of care we require and that this office was simply not interested in our business. This is the kind of service that EVERYONE should avoid, unless of course, your an A-listed elite that is agreeable to be serviced like cattle. P.S. PLEASE, please, please! Stop texting us that we need to schedule our annual appointment with you!!! We are NOT interested in your service, have called your office at least 3 times on this issue, and continue to be harassed by your office! read more

After not seeing a dentist for WAY too long because of multiple bad experiences at previous dental Facilities I ended up needing a root canal and multiple fillings. This was about five years ago. I went into star dental group and they did all my work which was almost painless, and worked with me with the payments. Ever since then I have absolutely NO fear of the dentist and I continue to get my check ups every 6 months. I haven't had a cavity or any issues since! The staff is amazing and are always so personable. Lucy and Lynn are the sweetest! I did not like going to the dentist. I always feel like I cannot breathe when they are trying to work in my mouth. Star Dental changed that for me. Dr. Entamadi is the best dentist ever. He is kind, patient, explains what he is doing. He is awesome. I love all the girls that run the front desk. Jamie is very polite yet knowledgeable and Lucy is awesome with insurance and getting everything taken care of. I had pain in my gum that got worse, I booked a same day appointment and Dr. Entamadi saw that I chipped a porcelain crown and it was stuck in my gum. Extremely poor customer service. We faced the highest disappointment when our appointment was cancelled and rescheduled three times and they will just call a day before. Front desk are extremely rude if you ask them reason for persistent rescheduling and will ask us to find another dentist. I Love Star Dental. I usually don't enjoy going to the dentist but the staff and Drs are the reasons why I come back. I've had them remove my braces, fix & fill some old fillings, I've needed 3 crowns done and cleanings twice a year to stay on top of my dental care. They offer text message service to remind you of your visit date and time and they call to confirm too. They love their clients. I drive from San Diego to have them take care of my grill! I had my orthodontic (braces) treatment done at this office, and when I moved, my new dentist asked who did my ortho because my bite still wasn't correct. I was in braces for 5 years and I was shocked to hear him say that. My new orthodontist says he may not be able to improve much, if anything, if I decided to get braces again. Over the course of my treatment at Star Dental, on multiple occasions, the dental assistants ended up putting bands on the wrong way and my teeth would actually go the opposite way they were supposed to, actually prolonging my treatment. Also when I was having a cleaning done at my new dentist, I noticed they spend at least two to three times longer, doing a more thorough job cleaning my teeth than Star Dental did. I wouldn't refer anyone to this dentist office based on my experience with them over the course of 5+ years. read more

Been coming to Star Dental for 8 years as well as my kids, which both are now in braces. I love an office that can provide multiple services and not have to drive here and there. I had a bad experience years ago with an office that 2 of there assistants where smoking something illegal in the parking lot. I was livid upset that walked in and complained to the office manager, so I became apprehensive about a dental office. I tried Star Dental and since then I have never switched to anyone else or tent to in the future. My kids and I love it there. The staff front and back greet us as if we are family and I like that very much. They know other members of my extended family and ask how they are doing. Which makes me feel great knowing they can remember my kids myself and family. At the end of our visits we get a little hygiene kit. Sometimes you do wait 10 to 20 minutes to be seen but other times your not finished signing in and they are calling you back for your dental work. read more
