Very conveniently located on Hercules off Star Rd next to the Anytime Fitness. I told Jason that I wanted a regular haircut with a #4 on the sides and back. Instead of going high with the clippers, he stayed low and left some length up above to allow for some movement of the hair. No one has cut my hair this way (to my recollection) and I was very happy with the result. The best haircut I've had in quite some time. Jason is also very nice and personable and keeps the conversation going. Since we're new to Star, my wife not being satisfied with the one haircut she has received since we moved, and Jason's wife Gina (they co-own the shop) also receiving great reviews, I'm referring my wife to her.

I booked online was given 36 minutes . The time kept getting pushed back. I booked for two appointments one for me and my son . There's was no one in the lobby and my son went first . Then other people started to arrive and then the manager Tiffany called someone else without any explanation to me when I said I was next. She said I wasn't and proceeded to take someone else . Then when another hairstylist was available after she completed my son's hair they called another person. I mentioned I was skipped over twice and the response was "okay" with attitude and disgust that I would even have a complaint. I will not come here ever again . even the screen that has the names and times wasn't plugged in so there was no way of tracking where in line I was . Maybe next time when a customer doesn't understand the line protocol you would take time to explain instead of argue and try to embarrass someone in a store filled with people.

THE STYLIST: Jen arrives from Salt Lake City where she had fifteen years of experience as stylist at an Aveda salon - with all the great training Aveda provides. I imagine Jen's former clients in Salt Lake must really be missing her - and their Facebook posts say that is true - because Jen just cut and colored my hair for the first time and both services were simply top notch. My hair is fine - and I have found that unlike fine wine, fine hair does not improve with age - and challenging to cut. I have tried a number of different stylists in the six years I've lived in the Boise area and Jen provided not only the best cut to fit my hair that I've had here but among the best cuts I've had in a dozen years. (And I say that from the perch that my long term stylist in my previous city was crackerjack good.) One would assume 30 years into the ADA being law all salons would do as good a job of getting it right as does Studio.
