Wouldn't go anywhere else to get my mattresses. My parents have been buying their mattresses here for years and when it was time for me to buy some new mattresses I decided to go with Star Bedding as well. This is a locally owned, family owned and operated business that has been open for like 30 something years. The father and son that work there are very knowledgeable, helpful and nice. What is really cool is they make their mattresses there at the factory! We haven't had a problem with our mattresses sagging or anything, but they mentioned if we do then they can fix it the same day at their factory so that we won't have to sleep on the floor. I think that is great!!! We went with the higher end mattress, the 100% latex mattress soft/medium. It is soooooooooooo comfortable & I love it!!! However, they have all types of mattresses from the cheapest, middle, all the way to high end. Oh yea the best part about their mattresses besides quality is the prices!!! I bought a damned fine mattress from these guys and all I can say is I cant wait to go to bed now!! The prices were perfect for my budget, and the staff is extremely helpful, he even let me lay there for like 20mins undisturbed just to make sure I was happy with my choice. Star Mattress has been in Modesto, at the same location for as long as I can remember. The mattress's are made on site, by the family owned, and ran business. Doing so allows them to offer ridiculously low prices. They usually run about 50% cheaper then anyone else. The quality can not be beat. I recently purchased a twin size "mattress only" , it feels just like mine and my wifes "Serta Perfect Sleeper" for only $88.00. Buying anywhere else is just plain foolishness. read more

We purchased our RV mattress from Star and can't say enough about their EXCELLENT customer service and their mattresses!! We bought one that we could tell after the first night was harder than we wanted. A mattress in an RV is different than a normal mattress as you're putting it on a solid surface instead of box springs. Made one phone call to them and they made a new softer one for us, no questions asked, at NO extra charge! We will definitely always send folks to them. Star Bedding ! Finally ! A mattress store that treated me like an intelligent consumer and listened to what I wanted and gave me choices. No BS, just information and choices AND really good prices. Many of the other mattress stores I visited felt like car sales lots-hype & marketing - where you sense them sizing you up to see what they think they can talk you into spending and almost making you feel guilty for not wanting "the best" (most expensive). I was looking for a mattress set for my elderly mother so I needed something basic, comfortable, of good quality but economical. They had that and if they didn't, they could have what I wanted MADE FOR ME within a week or so ! How cool is that !? I recently purchased a bed from a local discount mattress company for my teenage son. After only two months, the inferior discount mattress began to sag badly, and the frame began to brake. A friend recommended Star Bedding Mattress Factory, so I decided to check them out. The first thing I noticed when I entered their showroom was that they had the same style of bed frame that I had previously purchased, but their's was a much better quality and was actually cheaper than the one I had purchased from the "discount" mattress place! I was instantly greeted by a courteous staff member who showed me around and explained the different styles and kinds of mattresses available, they had so many to choose from in every price range. With the help of their knowledgeable staff member, I soon found exactly what I was looking for, and was surprised at how affordable it was! I ordered the bed to be delivered, and was amazed to find that the delivery truck actually met me at my home by the time I got there. The driver was respectful and polite and quickly had the new bed set up for me. I will never buy another bed anywhere else. We looked for a new mattress for months. We read so many horror stories online about mattresses that didn't last very long no matter how much they cost. We also read about how mattress companies want to confuse you and we experienced that confusion. If I wasn't without a mattress at that time, we would have just given up and gladly kept the old one. I came across a blog online that talked about how it's better to buy from an independent mattress manufacturer instead of the big mattress chains, because you got a better made mattress for less money. That blog is what led us to Star Bedding. We liked that Star Bedding was a family owned business, and because of that, they take a lot of pride in what they make. They also use the best products. We liked Jason from the get go, as he was friendly, courteous and very low pressure. He was like talking to an old friend instead of a mattress salesperson. Going to Star Bedding was like a breath of fresh air after our experiences with the different mattress chains. My only regret is that I can't give them 10 stars instead of 5. I never thought I would buy a floor sample mattress, but I did end up buying a latex one. It wasn't dirty, but Jason took extra measures to ensure that it was clean before he delivered it to our home. He also constructed a box spring with a sheet of plywood on top, so that it could better support the weight of the mattress. We also appreciated that. Also, I had noticed when the mattress was on the showroom floor, that the material on the side could have been slightly tighter. It wasn't much, but I'm picky. It was from customers sitting on the edge which is what I do when I'm looking for a new mattress. He opened the mattress up and sewed it right there at their place, and it was delivered in new condition to my home the next day. It took me awhile to get used to a latex mattress, but let me tell you, I wouldn't trade my latex mattress for anything. I always get a good night's sleep in it and I wake up rested and I don't hurt like I have before with some mattresses. I've done a lot of research on mattresses and I read where if you're sleeping on a mattress that isn't right for you, that you don't go into that deep, deep sleep that our bodies need, and you'll wake up feeling tired. We bought this mattress with confidence, because Star Bedding really stands behind their mattresses. I rest easily knowing that. What I've learned in my 35 years of marriage and having owned different homes, is that a warranty is only good if the company stands behind them. I've had many experiences where a company doesn't. Since my mattress was delivered to my home, I have had to call Jason on different occasions to talk to him about pillows, etc. What I have found is that Jason's courtesy extends after my mattress was delivered, which is so important. Whenever we are need of another mattress, we won't go anywhere but Star Bedding to buy it. If I hear that anybody is looking for a new mattress, I'm going to tell them about my experience with Star Bedding and that they should buy their next mattress there. I'll say this, you sleep much better when you know what's inside of your mattress, and that the people that you bought it from will really stand behind it. Looking at beds in the area this was the 2nd place. Display is well done and avg prices. However after reading a negative review here and seeing the owner Jason Veras comment back calling the customer a tweaker and liar. That alone will drive business away. Wish you guys luck. I read how your business was family owned and made me consider supporting however after looking into reviews, staff and more. Seems like just a another typical furniture/ bed store. This is the only place we purchase our mattresses from. Buying a mattress is an investment, at least for us it is, and we absolutely LOVE our pillow top king mattress. It's been about 5 months since the purchase and every night is just as good as the first. The customer sales reps also worked with me on pricing and were fair.
