STAR barber is a great neighborhood barber shop. The woman who owns it Anna, is always nice, smiling and very welcoming, and so is the rest of the staff. I have been going here for about 6 months but each time I go, they do an amazing job on lining everything up, trimming my sides and cutting my hair the way I like it! Plus, at only 13 dollars for a skin fade, it is the best priced haircut around hands down! I write this review with a lot of conviction because when it comes to my hair, I am very picky! I expect it to look sharp when I leave and that's exactly what they do! Even with a little bit of a language barrier, they still do an amazing job! I will tell you that it took 3 to 4 times to figure out the way I like it and tell them exactly how to cut it, but after they learned, I now come in every other week to get my fade done! Walk ins welcome, good prices but cash only, great staff, and a perfect haircut, make this my go to place for haircuts! read more

I've literally gone here 2 times to fix my haircuts from other places.... They are the BEST barber in Lemon Grove!! Man they turned my "MO" from the three stooges cut into awesomeness! Another great haircut. The barbers are really good at cutting traditional short men's haircuts. The elderly gentlemen have cut my hair three times and I've liked it every time. They do cheap beard trims too that look nice. read more

The person who cut my sons hair did NOT follow directions. He specifically asked her not to cut the back & the first thing she does is cut the back. She also plastered his head with pomade without asking. It's very unfortunate to get a bad haircut because all he could do now is wait for it to grow out. Don't waste your money at this place. I walked into the barbershop with long and unruly hair. Anna was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and skilled with crafting my hair better than I had pictured in my mind. She really made sure that my hair looked really good before I walked out of there. I was eager to try a different barber shop and I gave these guys a shot. I'm definitely glad I did. They're prices are very low so you would think that the service would be mediocre, that's not the case here! I went his on a Sunday afternoon, waited for about 15 minutes and then I was up. Possibly the worst haircut I have had in my life. I really hate to be "that customer" but when it comes to cutting hair you should know what you're doing. I asked for a low fade and by the end of my very long haircut, I certainly did not have a low fade. My head was practically shaved to a mid fade point then the top part of my hair on the sides was not faded, one side was longer AND thicker than the other side. Also it was extremely uneven. Then another lady had to come and fix up my hair, since it had already been so distorted and short, she didn't have a lot to work with and granted she made it look better than before, but even then it looked like a shaved head into a high bowl cut. Nice staff but I would not recommend getting a haircut here. read more

Getting my car washed across the street so I wanted to kill two birds with one stone and get a fade while I wait. The window price was $10, I usually pay $25 for my hair cuts. This place is really old fashioned Vietnamese barber shop. reminds me of the cheap places my mom took me when I was growing up. The girl who cut my hair was named Ana. She got her barber license 5 years ago so, she know how to give a good fade, that's the modern today's style. It was a trip seeing her cut my hair like a traditional barber, not like most older Vietnamese places. So is it the best Fade money could by!? No! Advertising by sticking leaflets in people's car doors is trashy. Just use an ad service like Google Ads or Yelp ads. People will leave your trash leaflets outside my home on the street for one of us to pickup after you.
