From talking to her she is very humble , has been cutting hair for 46 years and had owned the business here for 23 years so she really loves what she does! The experience of getting a hair cut from her is amazing. She usually does a cut that suits your facial structure, or you can tell her what you like. I usually go with the former. She'll ask if you'd like a 0/1/2 and you can have her shorten your hair more. She buzzes your hair first before using a scissor to sheer the rest off and it's an art form to watch her as she goes little by little and evens the hair out. Once you get your cut, she shampoos your hair, followed by a nice massage and then a little yogurt drink! It's honestly one of the best experiences you can have that's different from the usual barbershop. I highly recommend coming here. Okay, this barber shop is spot on even turned my horrible mess of a sidepart into a clean korean cut middle part with curtains. When my cut was finished, I thought it looked awful and nothing in the picture, but after like 3 days, when you groom yourself and make sure the hair is fine, the hair starts going to its positions and starts turning like the picture you requested. My how I missed the aroma of cigarettes on her fingers. I haven't been to Star since she left Crescent and Moody 4 or 5 years ago. Foolishly, I didn't follow and as a result have been settling for unsatisfying cuts for the past half decade. Fade including shampoo costs $15 but I would pay the fee just to watch. A kind, senior citizen who clearly takes her glucosamine and fish oil seriously because the lady can move. Whenever I'm in this area from this day onward and need a haircut, this will be my go-to. It all started when I was looking around the area to get my hair cut and saw so many options to choose from. I was attending a wedding I didn't know which to pick until I read all of the interesting reviews of the lady who cut hair here. I arrived at this barber shop first thing in the morning. I walked in the door and everything seemed normal. She immediately told me to take a seat. We were prepping with the paper and towel until I saw that she didn't take card! I didn't bring cash so I ran to the closest bank and came back. She was very patient and was not irritated at all. So again we started and she began cutting. To me it was a normal cut: trim the sides, then cut the top with the scissors, then to the shampoo. It was only after the shampoo that the magic happened. Like these other reviews, I was very impressed with her skill and technique as she faded the sides with her scissors. I couldn't help myself from smiling as she trimmed with speed and accuracy. It was definitely a unique experience and the cut looked great! Before I left she gave me one of those yakult or similar style drinks. Felt like a kid again after the doctors or something when they give you a sticker or lollipop after the checkup. Best haircut I've ever had. Just moved to Cypress and this will be my permanent barbershop. Don't know her name but an older asian lady cut my hair and she didn't disappoint. I didn't think she would cut my hair right because I've always had my hair cut with a male barber, but man I was wrong. I asked for a half on the sides medium fade and scissor on top. I agree with a review where they depicted the owner as a wizened old samurai lady - she does amazing fades. With scissors. Then gives you a yogurt drink at the end. I drive 20 minutes to see her. She mentions there are those who drive 45 min+ to see her and I frankly I'm not surprised. It's $15 for a general guy's haircut and I gladly tip her $5 every time. The owner is a korean lady who's so gentle with hairr. Anyway, the cut was amazing. She worked with precision with only two tools, again, nothing fancy, but the cut itself looked fancy. Wow. Fantastic barber. She knows how to make a beautiful fade haircut. The couple of times I've been here, I didn't even need to say much and just let her do her thing. Got my hair cut here the day before I served as a groomsman at a friend's wedding and it was perfect. I even received a few compliments at the wedding. She charges $17 for a standard male haircut and I usually make it $20 even. Wish it could be a bit cheaper, as I've been to good barbers for $10 cuts, but this price is pretty much par for the course and could be worse. But the quality of the cut is worth it. I also have been a longtime customer of Star Barber (+10 years). No matter what city I live in, I make it a point to only let her cut my hair. All the other barber shops (Fantastic Sam's, Supercuts, etc) I have gone to before going to her do not know how to properly fade the sides. She does most of it with just a comb and scissors!
